Fun Toy with a Few Bumps

The Aneros Progasm is a fun, comfortable anal toy that lets the wearer stimulate his prostate by controlling his muscles. Insertion could be a challenge for a newbie, and the bumps/balls on the tips of the handles led to discomfort for me after a couple of hours of use.

Use

Once you get used to wearing the Aneros Progasm, it can be a lot of fun, though it's not without a few bumps, literally.

Inserting the Aneros is a bit challenging because of its overall size and shape. The hook or curve to the tip takes some patience and a bit of getting used to. For me, anyway, it didn't just want to slide right in and more than ample lube was required. It also helped to have an extra set of hands doing the inserting for me.

Once the Aneros was in and I adjusted to having it inside me, it felt good overall. It did take the reassurance of checking a few times that it hand't slipped, and that led to some initial discomfort in being out in public with it. After I felt comfortable that it wasn't going anywhere, I enjoyed the feeling of it inside me and had no major issues walking and talking and going about life.

My only real issue with the product overall is that the bumps on the ends, which are intended for perineal stimulation bothered me a good deal. The inserted portion of the Progasm was wonderful, but I continually found the added pressure and rubbing irritating. Your mileage may vary, but it led to a less than satisfactory overall experience for me.

We attempted to make a minor modification to the device, but that only made things worse and our Progasm ended up becoming a bedroom only toy and eventually getting chucked after being passed over for more stimulating toys.

I did not experience the ultimate orgasm that some have credited it for, but it did deliver pleasurable feelings through contracting and releasing the right muscles. I would definitely consider getting another one at some point to explore this use, though I personally wouldn't recommend it for long-term or regular wear because of the discomfort I experienced.

The toy is travel-friendly, and while it is not necessarily small, it is self-contained and easy to remove and stash in a purse or other carrying bag.

Material / Texture

The toy is hard and does not offer a lot in the way of give or flexibility. But then again, that's sort of the point -- to put controllable pressure on the prostate. It is easy to clean and the seams are not noticeable to the touch or upon insertion.
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

The overall shape does make for a bit of a challenge, particularly for an anal newbie. The bent shape and bulbous tip of the Progasm makes insertion more difficult than with a straight toy or one that gradually increases in girth. Once it is inside you, the inserted portion of the toy feels good in terms of width and length. It does reach the prostate and it allows you to control it with some practice.
    • Discreet look/design

Performance

Again, the bumps or balls on the ends of the handle caused me issues. Everyone's body is different and I certainly wouldn't dissuade anyone from taking the Progasm for a ride. After a couple of hours, particularly when sitting, I found them uncomfortable and over time they bordered on painful for me.
    • Discreet
    • Silent
    • Uncomfortable for long-term use

Care and Maintenance

This sucker is about as easy to clean a toy as you could find. A solid plastic cock like toy that soap and hot water will take care of in no time. I'd assume it's even dishwasher safe if you were so-inclined and wanted to get it squeaky clean after a good hand washing.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
    • Low maintenance
Follow-up commentary
I remain mixed on this product. I would still recommend it with the conditions I listed in my original review. I think the product could be improved to make long-term wear more comfortable, but overall I can't really raise any major criticisms of it.
