extremely useful review
Disclaimer: I got this toy for vaginal use ONLY. It is marketed as an anal toy, but I have never and will never be using it for it's intended purpose.

My favorite features (color, bulbs, and handle) are my reasons for keeping and loving the Emerald Explorer!

The COLOR is a dream to look at. I'm a red-haired, small but mighty percentage Irish, so this emerald green will always hold a special place in my heart.

The BULBS feel simply devine!

The HANDLE and overall measurements of the toy are perfect for my (or YOUR) first glass toy. I got the SG swell wand first, and find it a little intimidating for partner play right now. However, the Emerald Explorer is simply perfect for using with a partner, IMHO (in my humble opinion). Though I haven't used it with my hubby yet, the presence of the handle and the overall length are petite enough that I shouldn't have to worry about bruising, even with more vigorous thrusting. That's a definite plus in my book!

I'm happy to report that there are no downsides to the toy, and the only minor critique I can even give is that it doesn't come in a nicer, perhaps padded pouch. It came with a plain pouch, but hey, at least it came with one! :)

As usual, here's the nitty gritty:

The toy has a fabulous weight to it, is made of body safe glass, and any kind of lube can be used with it.

It's easy to clean, care for, and sanitize. The dips between the bulbs (at least on mine) are rounded enough that stuff doesn't really get stuck in it, just be sure to make sure it's clean before storage. So far as I can tell, it doesn't collect lint, but it does collect fingerprints. :) As with all toys, I wash before and after each use.

Dimensions: 6" long with handle, 4" insertable length, 3.5" circumference, about 1" diameter
I can fit my first 2 or my last 3 fingers in the handle comfortably. I have petite hands, so my husband should be able to get 2 fingers (either first 2 or last 2). Two fingers is sufficient for thrusting. When I bought this toy, I was hesitant about the overall size and especially the girth (diameter) of the toy. Was this really going to be big enough to get me off? I am not a size queen by any means, but do enjoy an occasional feeling of fullness. In comparison to my Sasha Grey swell wand, it was looking a little puny. I am now happy to say that it was able to deliver!

It doesn't have any taste or smell that I noted.

It is strong glass, but I would still be careful in handling/storage. You can certainly thrust to your heart's content without worry, but I wouldn't recommend dropping it. Feel free to use it where you feel comfortable, but I decided I won't be taking mine in the shower, as I can be a bit clumsy!

I would recommend the Emerald Explorer to absolutely everyone! Beginners and those that have issues with texture could even try this out, as it has a non-threatening length and girth, and the texture is more pleasant than anything else. More advanced users can try this in other sexually related orifices if they like, or even enjoy some good temperature play.

It would be awesome for temperature play, and I can't wait to use it for that, but have not yet so I can't describe how long it holds temperature. It should function similarly to your other glass toys. Please be sure that you don't change extreme temperatures too quickly. I have read from other reviewers that, in order to prevent cracking or damage to a glass toy, be sure to let it cool or warm to room temperature before subjecting it to the opposite temperature extreme.

For me, this is specifically for hubby use (as a couples toy), but solo users will be equally happy with it.

From my experience, it would be best for foreplay, and I use it for nice vaginal thrusting. It can hit your g-spot depending on the angle and your anatomy, and though I haven't tried it yet, I think it could possibly be utilized for kegels too!

I give this toy a solid 5 Stars! I can't think of anything I'd change about it, and with proper care it could certainly last you a lifetime! There are no motors, silicone, or moving parts to break, damage, or wear down; just smooth, sensual glass to enjoy! There are no toxins here, no warrantee worries, just a lovely piece of art that will help you get off!!!
Experience
As with all my glass pieces, I warm up with a clitoral vibrator to get my juices flowing. The glass slides very easily when wet and not so easily when I'm bone dry (I suggest not attempting any bone dry insertion, ouch!). I find that I produce enough of my own lubricant to not need any synthetic assistance.

When I was ready to insert it for the first time, I was excited, and plunged the whole thing in (up to the handle), and boy did it feel great! I think it was slightly cold from my pre-wash (PLEASE always wash your toys before and after each use for hygienic purposes) and the AC. It felt so cool and lovely!!!! I could FEEL all the bulbs, but it wasn't overly filling or texture overload. It was simply a pleasant sensation. I could angle the toy to reach my shallow g-spot, and I most enjoyed thrusting the entire length in and out!

I didn't climax with that, and I wasn't intending to, I was just using this and a clitoral vibrator as a warm up for other toys!!!

I did pair this with a clitoral vibrator (my Mimi Generation I) and that was quite a marvelous sensation as well. I found with glass, you can hold a vibrator to it, and the vibrations get transmitted down the shaft of the toy, which makes for some amazing stimulation!!! It was more difficult to do this with this toy, I think it was difficult to keep it both on the bulb, or between the bulbs. A solid glass shaft would be easier to balance a vibe on.

I was pleasantly surprised that even when my body warmed the toy to it's temperature, I could still feel the toy, and was happy that it didn't "disappear" as some toys tend to do. Is there such a thing as vaginal sensory anosmia? (When people become anosmic to scents, that means that they can't smell it, but others still can. I wonder what do they call it when you know you're inserting a toy, but you can no longer feel it?)

The reason it won't ever get used for anal play is because you don't ever intend to try anal play or because this toy has been designated as strictly vaginal? Thanks for the great review.

Thanks for the great review, I was wondering how it would work vaginally. I had this in my wishlist for a long time, but removed it once we tried the Sapphire Falls. That one is excellent.

Jimbo: I never intended to use it for anal (I'm not into that). It is marketed as an anal toy, and I'm assuming that's what it was designed for. Thanks for your complement!

leatherlover: Thank you for the complement as well, I really appreciate the feedback from you guys, as I'm a new reviewer. If you have the Sapphire Falls already, and enjoy it, then you probably don't need this one. I think the emerald has a smaller girth, and it's only distinguishing feature for you, since you already have a bulbous toy, is the handle. Unless you need the handle, or are simply in love with the color, you can stick to the sapphire. I've considered the SF as well, but thought it would be too intimidating for me and my hubby, since we are newbies.
