This anal trainer kit is a good introduction to anal sex. The three plugs can be used to gradually prepare a beginner for anal sex with a larger toy or a penis. I don't know if this kit would be good for someone who is already experienced in anal sex because the smaller size is quite small, and the larger the toys get the more floppy they are. It makes it a bit hard to insert and probably wouldn't be as satisfying for an anal expert.

These toys are made of PVC. This was my first experience with that material. The plugs are graduated, which makes them slide easily, although they do need to be lubricated with more than just water. My main problem with the material is that it isn't quite stiff enough. For the smaller plug, it isn't an issue, but as the sizes get bigger and the heads become more bulbous, the weight of the material is too heavy for the flimsiness of the material. That means that the larger sizes, especially the biggest one, get very floppy.

The main problem with that is as you push against the sphincter, the plug bends. This can be very frustrating. Overall, I think these are TOO flexible and pliable. While I am not comfortable using glass in my anus yet, as a beginner, I would have liked something a little less "bendy."

Other reviews also mentioned the smell. I didn't find it to be too terrible; however, there is a slight odor to these. No matter how much I cleaned these, that smell did not dissipate, though. For someone who is very sensitive to smells, that could be a problem. However, since they aren't designed to be used near the face, I really didn't have a problem with the odor.

There are three sizes of anal plugs, which gradually increase in size. They are smooth with some ridges near the base. As you can see from the picture, all of these have flared bases to make them safe for anal play. The plugs are designed with smaller tips that flare in the middle before tapering back in. The larger sizes have a few bulbs that give extra sensation.

The smallest size is very small, so it shouldn't be intimidating to someone new to anal play. It has an insertable length of 3 1/2 inches, and is 5 1/2 inches in total length. It is 2 1/2 inches in circumference, 1 1/8 inches in diameter, and weighs .2 of a pound. It is like a finger, more or less. It is so small that it doesn't provide a lot of sensation or pleasure. From what I can tell, the #1 size is basically just to "get you over the hump" so to speak and comfortable with something in your anus. I was quickly bored with this one, and in fact didn't even use it for one night before I moved up.

The second size is quite a bit of a jump up, size-wise. It has an insertable length of 4 inches (5 inches total length), a circumference of 3 1/2 inches, a diameter of 1 5/8 inches, and it weighs .3 of a pound. I think the #1 could have been bigger to not make it so much of a difference. I was intimidated at first, but when I decided I was comfortable enough to use it I found that the design and taper make it fairly simple and easy to use. The #2 size is my favorite of them all. It isn't too small or too big (it's "just right" as baby bear would say). This one didn't hurt at all going in, provided some stretch, and the bumps were quite pleasurable.

The third size, #3 as I referred to it, certainly looked like a monster to me as an anal beginner. After playing with #2 for a while though, I started wanting a little more girth in preparation for the actual act. The tip of #3 is about as wide as the widest part of #2. It has an insertable length of 5 1/2 inches (7" total length), 4 1/2 inches in circumference, 3/4 inches in diameter, and weighs about half a pound. I suppose that's where having a graduated set like this has its perks. After using #2, I was relaxed enough and prepared for #3.

Here is where the flexibility problem comes in. #3 is way too floppy. It doesn't stand up well, even using the suction cup, because it is top heavy and way too jiggly (for lack of a better word). Trying to insert it, even after having #2 in, was a feat. The frustration made me tense up a bit which of course made it even harder. I took a deep breath, choked up on it (like I was playing baseball), and was able to guide it in. The most difficult part is getting over the large bulge where the toy is the biggest. I had to stop and add more lube so that it wasn't painful. Once it was in, it was pretty comfortable. The problem with the flexibility meant that I couldn't really "pump" with it; although, I am a little too new at this for that to be a major issue.

I purchased this set in purple. I really like the color. Since these are made of silicone, there is a translucent quality to them. The purple isn't as intimidating as the black opaque color that so many anal plugs and sets seem to be made of. I actually think these are pretty.

I already mentioned the #1 complaint I have is the over flexibility of this product, especially for the #3 size. I also found that because of the flexibility and top-heaviness of that plug the suction cup doesn't work well at all. I didn't really utilize that feature with the smallest one because it is sooooo small (as I mentioned above). However, it does work fairly well with the #2 size. I was able to bring it in the shower with me, and it suctioned itself very well to the tile wall. So well, in fact, that I had one of the most enjoyable showers of my entire life. That is when I realized how incredibly satisfying anal play really could be, as I was able to reach orgasm without touching my vagina or clit at all.

I tried to bring #3 into the shower, too, for some more width and sensation. Alas, it did not suction to the wall. The heaviness of the top was too much for the suction cup to hold. I could suction it to a flat surface (it stuck to the floor of the shower after it fell from the wall). I suppose that means it could be suctioned to a chair or table if you would like, although I never tried it.

These toys are easy to take care of and clean. They can be washed in warm water and antibacterial soap or using sex toy cleaner. Because they are porous material, they should not be shared between partners for anal use unless there is a condom involved for safety. I was disappointed that there weren't more cleaning instructions on the package itself.

The hard plastic shell that these come in is rather large, but it can be opened, closed, and used for storage if you have room. It is not discreet at all, and would not fit well into a drawer. I have a duffle "goody bag" where I store my toys, so keeping them in the packaging worked for me, although it might not for others.

This set enabled me to feel comfortable with anal play and work my way up to anal sex with my boyfriend. Using this set made my anal sex experience a positive one this time, rather than traumatic and painful like it was with my last boyfriend. This time I didn't experience any pain by the time I was ready to consummate the act.
