Great anal vibe, but could use refinement
If manually manipulated, the rude boy is excellent for prostate massaging, especially if you have someone holding it for you. The vibrations are fairly strong and evenly dispersed across the length of the toy. However, the presence of noticeable seams on the shaft takes away quality points and lowers the overall impression of the Rude Boy.Published: October 22, 2010
Pros:
Good vibrations, good length, nice aesthetics
Cons:
Unfinished seams, might benefit from a little less curve
Use
I found that the rude boy is quite a pleasant toy. It's marketed toward solo use, with the idea that a male inserts the toy with the curve pointing towards the prostate, then sits on the toy and rocks back and forth to massage the prostate. I found this use to be slightly uncomfortable, as sitting on the base causes the curve to push a little too hard. It's enjoyable at first, but quickly starts feeling a little off. Also, it's a bit hard for me to pay proper attention to my cock when I'm hunched over trying to rock back and forth on the bed (all the while trying not to get lube all over the sheets). So I'm not sure I recommend the "instructed" usage. There is, however, another option...
Recently, my partner tried manually manipulating the rude boy to massage my prostate with me on my back. Let's just say it was excellent, and worked much better than the rocking method. In addition to the prostate massaging action of inserting and removing the toy, the rude boy also carries vibrations quite well; I can feel them not just on the base (touching my perineum) but also all the way up the shaft of the toy, so that both my asshole and prostate were getting the best of the RO-80MM bullet that inserts into the base of the rude boy.

Material / Texture
Of course it's silicone. I honestly believe it to be the ideal material for anal play. This particular example is on the firmer side of spectrum (but it's also not a girthy toy, so not much need for plush). The shaft is hollow on the inside, so it does give a bit when you squeeze it. The shaft bends enough for comfort, but is firm enough to transmit the vibrations very well all the way from the base to the tip.
The finish on the silicone is also my preferred one: matte. Matte silicone isn't as smooth as gloss, but the lube doesn't bead up on it so much, so the toy is much easier to lube, and it stays lubed better. Just remember not to use silicone lubes with this one.
There are some pretty big nubs/bumps on the base. I'm not sure they really added anything to the experience, but they weren't uncomfortable either. And hey, they make the toy look a little more interesting and maybe even a bit more masculine.
I am subtracting points for attention to detail on the rude boy. There are two seams on the inside and the outside of the curve that are significant enough to feel. They don't detract much from the experience when inserted, but I feel that sex toys, especially anal ones, should always have either no seams, or seams that were smoothed out by the manufacturer. It's kind of a big deal!

Design / Shape / Size
The rude boy's design didn't quite work for me when sitting on the toy as the instructions suggested. However, it was very enjoyable as a handheld vibrating probe. Very enjoyable, in fact.
I like the look of the toy, always nice when you can find a good anal toy that isn't phallic looking. This would probably be a good travel toy being that it doesn't look too crazy and that the battery (and vibe) is removable.
The size of this toy is very modest. It's length is great, just long enough to hit all the spots without being uncomfortable to take to the base. The diameter is a bit smaller than I'd prefer generally, but it's nice to have some smaller toys when warming up for larger toys in the collection. This diameter and length makes it also a good choice for those who are just starting with anal play and need to get used insertion in the first place. If you can take two fingers, you are probably ready to try the rude boy.

Performance
As mentioned earlier, the toy performs best when using it manually. The bump at the end of the curved shaft can be used to apply direct pressure to the prostate, and the whole toy vibrates nicely. I don't know if I'm the biggest fan of N-style batteries, but they do seem to last longer than the button style batteries. Vibrations are of good intensity and not too loud. Probably wouldn't be able to hear through a closed door.

Care and Maintenance
Yes, it's silicone, the easiest clean-up anal toy material, in my opinion. When I'm finished playing, I just pull out the vibe, then throw the toy in the dishwasher. Alternatively, you could boil/bleach it. But the dishwasher is nice. Just remember that because the base and shaft are hollow, you need to make sure you shake out all the water before you put it away. For storage it just goes in the box with all of my other pure-silicone toys.
Don't use silicone lube with this toy. Water based only if you might be using condoms then or later. Or oil based is ok as long as no condoms with come in contact with the oil. Be safe.

Packaging
The packaging was nice. Was compact and fairly discreet (didn't have anything pornographic on the box, does say prostate, however, kind of medical, if anything). Funny: on the back it says "warning: may cause intense ejaculation". This got a few giggles out of me on a couple of occasions.

Follow-up commentary
I still like it
3 months after original review
Well the Rude Boy still visits occasionally. As my smallest diameter toy it still has a role when I'm feeling too tight to jump up to slightly bigger toys. Unfortunately, I still really don't use the Rude Boy hands free as it was intended to be used. I mostly masturbate on my back in bed, which just isn't conducive to the "sit-on-and-rock" design of the toy. Regardless, I still enjoy the direct prostate pressure that the Rude Boy can provide and the RO-80mm bullet that's included has been nice to use separately for a nice buzz.

Thank you for viewing Rude boy – sex toy for men review page!

Great review! Darn those seams . . .
eep! seams!
I have had some luck removing the seam with a brand new shaving razor, just go slow and take your time and use a drop of lube.
This is the first time I have heard mentioned that this toy was hallow, must be just the Rude boy, my Naughty boy is not, just the hole for the vibe.
Great review.
Really informative!
I don't like the idea of the seam either, plus I like my p-spot massagers to stay in on their own. Thanks for the review
Thanks for the review, those seams worry me!
Nice review. How well did it stay in during use, and did you try it in while having sex with your partner?
@Dwtim Yeah, the rude boy is definitely hollow. If you hold it upside down and fill with water, there's water that gets trapped in the shaft. But I think hollow is a good thing, it allows the firmer silicone to still be bendable.
@leatherlover The rude boy does not stay in unless, one, you're holding it, two, you're sitting on it, or three, you have amazingly strong butt cheeks. While the rude boy doesn't shoot out like some toys will (I've had one go at least 3-4 feet), it will slip out if there isn't something holding it in. However, a harness or tight pair of jeans/shorts could probably hold the toy in place.
Great Review. Thanks for warning us about the seams.
Just want to mention that the seams on the rude boy aren't so bad as to prevent use. There are toys out there that have worse that actually make use impossible (see Rascal Bum Rush). It's just that a premium product should have a premium finish.
thank you
Good review, as always. The only Rocks Off prostate toy I've found that does stay in is the Cheeky Boy. I wonder if your sample had a manufacturing error. I have the Bottom Boy, Cheeky Boy and Bad Boy and while they have seams you can see if you look closely none are noticeable.
Thanks ScottA. Yeah, I guess I don't quite expect the rude boy to stay in (that's what the plugs are for, haha). Maybe it could have been a manufacturing error that slipped by quality control. The seam on the outside of the curve is barely noticible, but the seam on the inside of the curve and on the bump can be felt. Fortunately, the seams are soft enough to still allow use. Topco's Rascal Bum Rush has more severe seams that are actually raised and rough enough to make using the toy painful, no good.
Excellent review. And a terrific read.
Nice review, thanks!
