Sexy spades medium - butt plug by Doc Johnson - review by Waterfall

The Sexy Spades Medium is a glass butt plug by Doc Johnson. Although it is the "medium" size, don't let the name trick you into thinking you can handle this one if you have only tried a plug or two in your anal career. This is one large plug that I would recommend to advanced anal players or those who plan on spending a lot of time warming up before trying to insert this one. Because it has no give you really want to make sure you take things slow. I also think the size of this one when used anally may make it more uncomfortable when used in combination with another toy or a partner, however I have not actually tried this and I am just making a guess.

It comes in a flimsy, clear plastic package with a little bit of information on the back of the box (mostly general stuff about glass). Although it nestles nicely in the molded plastic insert, this packaging does not work well for storage so I suggest getting a pouch or keeping it in your drawers surrounded by clothes to cushion it. Right now mine is sitting on my dresser and it doesn't stand out too much, so this toy is relatively discreet (unless your visitors have some experience with anal plugs).

This toy is made from glass, which means there is no give so you need to be sure that you are ready to take something of this size before you try to insert it. I recommend inserting this one on your own because you know your own limits and because it is so firm that you can hurt yourself. There is no texture so it is nice and smooth which will help with insertion. The top of the bulb has a light goldish-brown and blue swirl that makes this one nice to look at.

A great thing about glass is that you can easily clean it with soap and water or a toy cleaner and that it can be sterilized with a 10% bleach solution. You and your partner can both enjoy this one, if you so desire. In addition to this easy clean up, glass can also be used with any lubricant you want. This is especially important with this toy because it is on the large side, so you will have to use at least some lube. This material can also be used for temperature play, so if you want to try some warm or cool anal play then simply sit this one in warm or cold water for a little while before use. Be sure not to freeze it, or go from extreme temperatures too quickly.

The Sexy Spades Medium is a total of 3.75 inches long/tall and has an insertable length of 3.25 inches. At the largest part of the bulb, this plug has a diameter of 2 inches and a circumference of 6 1/4 inches. Those measurements feel a bit larger due to the unforgiving nature of glass so keep that in mind. The neck has a diameter of a little over an inch, so you do get a bit of a break, but not a big one. At the end of the neck there is a nice large circular base. This works well for keeping the plug from slipping in and also makes a nice surface to allow it to stand up should you need to do that. I am not a huge fan of circular bases on glass anal toys that I want to move around with, so this may not be comfortable to all users.
