Gumdrops double bubble review by Doc Johnson

Call me anal, but I’m looking for the perfect butt plug.

I’ve had mine for about a year—the first one I ever bought. And although it does the trick okay, I’m looking for ways to make anal play better.

Enter the Gumdrops Double Bubble. It’s bright cherry red and plump, and even the name sounds fun. And it’s made of PVC, a soft, flexible material that always makes me feel squishy with pleasure.

But best, of all, it’s 7.25 inches in girth at its widest—unlike my trainer plug, which often falls out now when I wear it. Of all the plugs that EdenFantasys sells, the Gumdrops Double Bubble is among the biggest. And since I’ve had a lot of live anal play, I figured I’d go for broke.

When it came time to try out my new toy, I applied an extra-generous dose of lube. Then, I inserted the first of this two-tiered bubbly design, loving the feel of the PVC. The round softness and pointed shape gave a pleasantly piercing sensation, like erotic darts made of bubble gum.

Unfortunately, that’s where my fun ended. I slid down as far as I could, but the bottom ridge of the plug would not enter. Clearly, my eyes were bigger than my bum-hole.

I’m disappointed I can’t give you more info about this product, but I can give you some helpful pointers when choosing a plug, so you avoid this kind of dead-end situation—no pun intended.

First, don’t simply size something up and buy. Sure, I knew the plug’s dimensions; but what did that mean for me and my body? What would that feel like? It’s exactly for times like these that EdenFantasys has live, online support staff. Use them!

Second, when upgrading in size with any toy, go gradually. Had I bothered to look, I’d have seen that EdenFantasys sells my first butt plug, and that it’s 4.75 inches in circumference. Quite a difference from the Gumdrops Double Bubble.

Finally, although I like the feel of PVC next to my skin, I should not have used the plug without a condom. PVC is porous, which means that toys of this material may contain chemicals which cause irritation. In the future, I think I’ll stick to silicone, which can be boiled for sterilization and used condom-free.

The moral of the story? No, I haven’t found the perfect butt plug; but I’ve learned how to make searching for it less of a pain in the rear.
