Sexy spades small - glass plug by Doc Johnson - review by Boink

I have always loved Blondie's "Heart of Glass," that sublimely smooth and sensual tune, with a great dance groove rolling behind it. Sure there are plenty of throwaway tracks from the 80's but Blondie? No way. You are probably wondering what Blondie has to do with butt plugs (and with good reason), but like "Heart of Glass" the Sexy Spades Small anal plug is a smooth, sensuous, and endlessly playable toy. Okay, so maybe that is more than a slightly overextended musical metaphor... but like Blondie this is something that will not soon be out of my regular rotation.

My partner and I have a pretty nice little sex toy collection, and we have played with anal plugs before. I started with a rather large jelly one, and upgraded to silicone. This glass plug, while not massive in size, is the perfect fit and just the right design for pleasure. This was our first glass toy and we were both excited just to see what it would look like. Packaged in a nice simple plastic container the plug is pretty simply designed but the blue and orange striping through the head of the toy makes a nice visual element that makes this more than just your average plug.

We tried it out immediately and were struck by how easily this toy can be used. While it is admittedly a little heavier than silicone, or jelly butt plugs, the weight is definitely not an issue. In fact, I found it to enhance my pleasure by increasing my awareness of it, once it was inserted. Glass works brilliantly with just about any lubricant imaginable, and becomes slick in a way most other materials do not quite reach. Insertion with some lubrication was no trouble for me, and the nice full pressure this toy exerts is pleasurable without being overbearing. While I would not recommend this particular size for those looking for a very filling plug the line includes gradually larger sizes so if you like the looks of this toy you can certainly find something to fit your needs.

Since the plug is made of glass, cleaning is easy. The surface is non-porous and can easily be wiped down, cleaned with any standard toy cleaner, or even boiled to clean off everything thoroughly. The glass (unlike other materials) does not tend to pick up lint or dust and for those who find smell to be an issue the toy is absolutely neutral in smell and taste. We did not venture into glass' reported easy temperature changing abilities, but maybe in time. In the meantime I know I can report honestly that like Blondie this toy will not be a quick throwaway hit. In 20 years when I go to look for a nicely balanced, perfectly sized butt plug this toy will be there none the worse for the wear. Perfect!
