Ace plug royal - butt plug by Tantus - review by Nerdy Nymphette

I actually bought the Ace Plug Royal in my early explorations into anal play by mistake, thinking it was the smaller one. Though it is larger than the average beginner toy, I found that with some warm up with fingers and enough lube, it slid in nicely. What I really wanted was something I could wear for a longer time to prep my virgin backdoor for more involved endeavors. Found it!

The silicone has a nice give to it while still maintaining firmness. This is ideal; it works with your body to open, fill, and stretch. The give of the silicone in particular is probably why it worked as a beginner's toy for me. The plug is smooth, 100% silicone, and as such, happily has no taste or smell to speak of. It's also seamless, a godsend in the oh-so-sensitive anal region. Combined with a fair amount of water-based lube, it slides in effortlessly.

The design of the plug is its strong-suit. I love that it comes in black; it has a no-frills, I-mean-business look to it that ups the naughtiness factor which drew me to anal play in the first place. The size is large enough to make its presence known, but small enough to be comfortable for long-time use (and those inexperienced in the ways of butt-loving, like I was).

The two biggest strengths of this toy are the head and the base. The head is shaped quite like a rounded off Hershey's kiss and is about the size of a large unshelled pecan (3 1/2 inches around). It rests on a shaft about the size of a nickle around. The softened conical shape in combination with the longer, thinner shaft works with your anatomy to rest deeper inside, allowing the sphincters to close around the shaft. This makes for a secure penetration, the head locked inside until you (or your partner) decide it should be otherwise. The base is large enough that I felt extremely secure that I would not suck the toy deep into my body, but is constructed to snuggle into your crack. Being longer than it is wide and tapered on the ends allows the plug to sit between your cheeks safely and comfortably.

This is a phenomenal plug. It is pleasurable and practical. It slides in easily thanks to its tapered tip and sits securely (and damn pleasurably) thanks to its conical head/long shaft combination. It worked great to warm up my bum for further play, both way ahead of time and when introduced just before. It stays where you want, but slides out smoothly when you want as well. Add that to the fact that the sensation of having it inside was so nice, and I took to wearing it out an about just for fun. A discreet and delicious naughty secret that felt AWESOME. Additionally, it's staying power makes it ideal for use during vaginal sex. Very doable, very delicious double penetration.

The toy does very well when introduced for a short time before penetration with something larger. I find that it's the perfect intermediate between penetration with two fingers and with a cock. It has continued to serve me well in my further (less beginner-level) anal endeavors.

I can wear this comfortably for an extended period. The wider base of the head rest nicely a little ways past my sphincters, leaving me feeling full and relaxing my muscles without stretching too far. I find that it's especially easy to wear for a long time if I'm also wearing a thong, as that little bit of added pressure keeps the base securely nestled between my cheeks. I'm sure that it would work equally well under a harness.

As it is 100% silicone, care couldn't be easier. Boiling will kill anything you're worried about in the blink of an eye. And, as always, don't use it with silicone lube. There's really nothing quite as gross as the idea of a butt plug actually melting inside of you. Blech. For the same reason, don't store it right next to another silicone toy. Fusion cuisine is awesome. Fused toys, not so much.

As with any anal foray, this puppy required some serious lubrication. I found that by using a thick water-based formula (I like slippery stuff), though, I could get the plug itself wet enough to glide right in and stay lubed-up inside me while the outside bits quickly dried, allowing for comfortable under-clothes wearing.
