The a-Vibe is meant to be used anally. It’s shaped for easy insertion and made of 100% silicone, making it a great toy for all sorts of sexual play. It’s even easier to clean up afterwards. You can use this toy solo or with a partner, but be sure to disinfect it thoroughly before swapping with someone.

The a-Vibe is made of 100% pure silicone, that makes it a 10 on Eden’s material safety list. It’s nice and smooth with only a slight grab of texture, but you will still probably want to use some lube. Just make sure you grab a water based one. There is a seam that runs all the way around the toy, from tip to finger hole, but it was not felt during use.

The a-Vibe is kind of shaped like an open “C” in my opinion. It’s curved to hit the prostate and has a gradual bulbous head to help with insertion. It measures 5.25” in insertion length; the diameter is .5” at its thinnest point and 1.125” at the widest point. The finger hole is wide enough and has enough give to slip over my fingers. Even if you have really wide fingers, the material provides enough give to get at least some control over the toy.

The shape is actually a good size for anal play beginners, or for those who just don’t want much girth in an anal toy. A more experienced player would probably want a little more size in my opinion, but you’ll have to decide that for yourself.

While the size is great for beginners, the design of the toy is not. The finger hole is made with the same silicone material, but is a thinner layer. This makes the finger hole very flexible and not suitable for hands-free use, as it is not rigid enough to prevent the toy from being sucked inside your colon. While I didn’t have any problems with this, someone who hasn’t had much experience with anal toys may have less desirable results. You might never have a problem since the shaft before the finger hole is the widest point of the toy, but I just don’t feel comfortable recommending it for less experienced players.

The finger hole doesn’t quite work for me. It would work well if your partner was controlling the toy, but for solo use, I found the placement made it difficult to operate the toy. With the a-Vibe inserted, it is hard to reach the finger hole to manipulate the toy comfortably. I think if the finger hole was further away from the end of the insertable length, it would make it easier to operate, but that could just be me.

The insertable vibe is just a small, cylinder-shaped tube that is pushed inside the toy from the inside of the finger hole.

When you buy a sex toy, you expect it to function well. In some ways, the a-Vibe didn’t meet that goal. In other ways, it blew past that goal and left you trying to keep up.

I’ve never had a toy that tells me when it’s ready to play or stop, but the a-Vibe is its own boss. The bullet for this toy has one speed that you turn on or off with the push of the button. I expected that, but I managed to find a couple more ways to turn this vibe on and off. If you’re scratching your head now, don’t worry, so was I.

After putting the 2 included G13-A CNB batteries into the vibe for the first time, I inserted the vibe into the toy and laid it down on the table. That is when the toy roared to life and started dancing for me. I’m all for an “eager to please” attitude, but that’s just crazy. It turns out that if you hit one side of the toy, the vibe will turn on. However, you cannot turn the toy back off with the power button. The only way to turn the toy back off is to hit the opposite side of the toy. Only then will the power button again work normally. In fact, the toy would even try to turn back on when I unscrewed the cap to the vibe! It would vibrate for a second, stop, and then start vibrating again … WITH THE BATTERY CAP COMPLETELY OFF! I’m pretty sure my sex drive can’t keep up with this toy.

The company claims that the toy and vibe are both waterproof. The vibe did pass both the splash test and holding it under running water for a short time, but it didn’t pass when it was completely submerged in a bowl of water for several minutes. Not much water is going to be able to get inside there when the vibe is inserted, however. When you insert the vibe in the toy, it is pretty difficult to get it back out. I had to try turning the toy inside-out and use a pair of pliers to pull the vibe back out.

The vibe’s vibrations are not very strong. I could hardly feel the vibrations when it was in use. Some people may prefer weaker vibrations in their anal toys, but I think most people will probably want more power. I think the company had the right idea when they made this product, but there are definitely some things I hope will be fixed with the next version of this toy.

Silicone is a great material and super easy to clean. You can boil it, throw it in the dishwasher, use a toy cleaner or wash it with soap and water. You’ll want to avoid direct contact with this toy and other silicone toys to prevent them from melting together. The package actually makes a great way to store the toy and keep it safe.

The packaging is actually one of the areas that the company got right. The packaging looks great and the toy is encased in foam within the box. The company even included a small user manual that has everything from putting the batteries into the toy, to the benefits of silicone and more. It all looks classy enough to make you think you paid more for the toy than you actually did.

Although the box is very classy-looking, it still is not really safe for gift giving. It clearly states that this toy is an anal vibe on the front of the box and the back describes the benefits and its use for prostate stimulation.

This toy didn’t do it for me. The 100% silicone is great, but it’s too flexible to apply any sort of pressure. The vibe, besides having a mind of its own, is not really strong enough for my liking. I was excited to try this toy and was hoping for better results, but I don’t really see myself using this toy again.
