I love the Emerald ExplorerIf you're shy about trying out a Pyrex toy, don't be. The Emerald Explorer is a wonderful toy to purchase as your first. It made me want to buy more glass toys for my toy box.
I have never used a Pyrex toy before, so I was both excited and a little nervous. I have always purchased and used toys that are bendy or squishy or pliable in some way. This is the second toy - and also second butt toy - that I have owned that is very firm and rigid. The first toy being the Flex-a-Pleasure vibrating anal plug, and that was not a fun toy at all, so I wasn't sure how I would like it.
I have to tell you, the Emerald Explorer is gorgeous. It's shiny, smooth, and the prettiest green color I've ever seen. It was shipped well and came in a purple colored fleece drawstring bag. There was no smell to it and zero imperfections. It felt heavy in my hand and I was pleased at how well my two fingers slipped into the base. If my pudgy fingers could fit in there, I knew my partner's would as well.
When I arrived at his house, we talked about my concerns. I was nervous because of my other experience with a rigid butt toy. He assured me we would stop at any moment I felt discomfort. He lubed up the toy and slid it in to me. I could feel every ridge and bump on the toy. It was amazing! As he slid it in and out the feeling just got better and better. There was no drag or friction whatsoever with the Pyrex, and the little lube he used went a long way. I use a water based lube, but a silicone or oil based lube can also be used with Pyrex. It really depends on what you personally prefer.
I didn't find the toy to be too large or too small. I think it would be great for those just trying out butt play, but might leave a lot to be desired from those veterans who are looking for more girth.
The only problem we encountered with this toy is that it does not feel so great if you're planning on doing some double penetration (using it as a plug). Because the toy has no "give", it was a bit painful as the loop on the bottom hit against his pelvis and the shock of that kind of hurt. Once he slipped his fingers in the loop, though, that discomfort was diminished a bit, but ultimately, we had to stop using it in that way.
Clean-up with this toy was a snap. I washed it off with sudsy warm water while I was at his house. Once I got home, I placed it in the top rack of the dishwasher, right alongside my other glassware. It cleaned up perfectly with one run through the wash cycle.
I really love, and recommend, the Emerald Explorer. Being new to Pyrex toys in general, I wasn't sure how I'd like it. But I totally love it and plan on buying more glass toys. I'm over the fear, and now want to add more gorgeous Pyrex to my toy collection. You should, too!
