Insert Obligatory Screwed Pun Here

Sinful Screw has a terrible pun-ridden name, but it's also a great first time toy that can be used either anally or vaginally. The colors and design stand out in an ocean of pink and purple plastic. If you've never played with a textured toy before, this non-girthy and flexible design might just be the single best choice for the price.

Use

Sinful Screw is designed to be an anal probe, and as such, is totally anal safe with a flared base that would be remarkably difficult to lose. While you probably won't be walking around with it inside of you, like a plug, it will stay put nicely during play; the narrow handle can slip neatly between two cheeks. With the T-shaped handle, it's easy to grasp and thrust, and the material is flexible enough that even if you slip a little you're not going to end up with internal bruises.

While the packaging describes the Sinful Screw as an intermediate toy, it's pretty non-intimidating.

It can also be used vaginally. Don't discount its narrow size; the texture combined with a relatively firm material makes for one hell of a pleasurable ride if you're not looking to be stretched out.

Material / Texture

The biggest drawback of the Sinful Screw is the material... TPE, and not silicone or glass. Sure, it doesn't smell like funny chemicals. Yes, indeed, it's a bodysafe, phthalate free material... but with one major drawback to the other contendors for the bodysafe label: it's porous. Particularly for an anal toy, that's not a desirable quality. And for a toy like the Sinful Screw that can be used both anally and vaginally, that limits your options. Because it can never be completely sanitized, once used as an anal toy it should only be used as an anal toy and should not be shared.

The material is flexible, yet firm. It's firm enough that the texture is very distinctly felt while in use, but flexible enough that the shape will flex with your body to a certain extent rather than the risk of bruising that glass or other completely hard materials can provide.

I initially found it felt quite cheap. It was very grabby, a hair-catcher, and had a strange sort of grip to it that made me really appreciate the silicone toys I already have. Certainly it's not being used without lube. I have a suspicion that it could break quite easily with heavy play.

Still, for the price, TPE is not the worst material you could get.

Design / Shape / Size

The unique design (and of course, the wonderful color) is what drew me to the Sinful Screw. I'd never seen anything quite like it and it didn't disappoint. Sinful Screw is sinfully attractive for a cheap toy, and a great textured option as well.

The size is where it falls short. At just 7/8 inches in diameter, and 6 inches of insertable depth, the girth is much narrower than many other anal plugs, and certainly it's much narrower than most dildos. This makes it an ideal beginner's option, but it makes me wish it came in a few other sizes. While sometimes I do get a hankering for just some texture on a narrow ride, it's more often that I get a hankering for something a bit thicker... and I'm hardly alone. A larger size option would be great; I know I'd be first in line to buy it. The ten screw-design ridges add a little more interest, when thrusting they are distinctly felt and while they don't provide G-spot stimulation when used vaginally, it was enjoyable.

The handle is without a doubt one of my favorite parts of the design. It's easy to get a grip on and hold in place (and without the curved plug shape, Sinful Screw is definitely hard to hold in with muscle power alone), and for me, felt natural for thrusting and manipulating. I was quite pleased, and now wish more toys came with that T-shaped handle.

As a toy designed to be used as an anal probe, it worked well. It wasn't mindblowing, but the ridges were nice and provided a different sort of sensation than a slick, smooth designed toy would provide.

Performance

The first few times I tried out the Sinful Screw, I used it vaginally and I was very reluctant to give it a try anally because to be honest, I hadn't realized I could enjoy such a non-girthy toy so damn much until I stuck it in me and then thought "well, damn, I hadn't realized a non-girthy toy could feel so great!"

It wasn't just the non-girthiness that got to me, though, but the design and simple functionality. The combination of the wonderful screw texture, which perhaps might be too much for some people, and the simple yet ergonomic handle made it just plain fun when I didn't feel like lubing up a more girthy accessory to play. I mean, I could just grab and go and enjoy the texture! Sometimes that's all I want.

But I gave it an anal whirl anyway and that performed pretty great too. The T-shaped handle gave me a decent grip and there was no risk whatsoever of an... accident involving a run to the ER for some lube and a doctor with long fingers, I'm just saying. It might be too long for some people, it's definitely not all that girthy, and I found that it certainly didn't stay in place without a hand to hold it in, though I suppose you could sit on it to keep it in or if you had clenchier ass muscles, maybe that would do it. So it mostly served as a thrusty toy, not a plug. It has absolutely no plugging capabilities whatsoever. So keep that in mind.

Care and Maintenance

When in doubt, use water-based lube. TPE is a composite material that can be made out of many things... including silicone, and silicone lube and silicone based toys don't always play well together. Now, you can do a patch test. With the size of the handle, there's plenty of space for you to dab a bit of your favorite silicone lube and see if it discolors or worse, melts and becomes permanently sticky. Generally when silicone lubricants don't play well with toys, it's because the silicone in the lube is binding itself to the silicone in the toy and you'll find this reaction right away. So if you've got a favorite, go ahead and patch test on the handle, but otherwise, I recommend a nice water based lubricant.

Likewise, silicone toys of different makes can play badly together. Store the Sinful Screw in a bag or separate from other toys to avoid material mayhem. A regular plastic bag will do, or you can buy or make a nice cloth bag.

Otherwise, the Sinful Screw is no harder to take care of than any other slightly grabby toy. It will pick up hair and dust if not stored in a bag, and you'll want to give it a wash before using it. There's no unusual maintenance measures needed with TPE. It's a firm material that won't deform, though I would be careful about setting anything heavy on it if there's a risk it might bend because it does feel a bit almost fragile in its flexibility and I can imagine it wouldn't be difficult to snap it in two.

Packaging

I was quite impressed with the minimal packaging Hustler provided. It was quite classy, not a single half-naked lady in sight. It's well designed for its purpose. The back contains all the information you'd need to know if you were grabbing it off of a shelf, without drowning itself in lame marketing and exclamation points. However, it's not just the design that's minimal.

Unlike some brands where there's probably a dozen little bits and pieces involved in the packaging, Sinful Screw was packaged in nothing more than one little black bag. It's clear on the front, so you can see the toy inside. This would be great for retail, but when it comes to storage, you're probably just going to go tossing it away. It's not discreet, and it's not sturdy. You may as well just use a sandwich bag and be done with it.

Still, if you regularly toss away sex toy boxes, it's better to be throwing away just one little bag rather than a bunch of bits and pieces.

Follow-up commentary
There isn't much more to say about the Sinful Screw that I haven't already. It's a practical addition to anyone's toybox so long as you can handle the less-than perfect material. It's cheap and there's no reason you shouldn't give it a whirl if the texture looks thrilling to you.

This is the first dildo-type toy I've ever thought I might want to own two... one for each end... and the price is just right that I might.
