It's not just for butt play!

Basically, this is a beautiful toy that delivers well in the front or backdoor. Being glass, it is as hygienic as they come. The only caution is that you should be very careful while cleaning/storing this toy, because the handle is fragile and can shatter easily if dropped on a hard surface. If you like texture and girth, you will love this toy. Not just for anal use.

Use

At first glance, this appears to be designed as a glass butt plug/probe, but it is more than just that. It worked wonderfully vaginally for my partner. She could feel the nice bulbous head on her g-spot, as well as the nubs as it entered and exited her. I could feel the pressure in my hand as it entered and exited. It has a nice size girth, comparable to an average man's penis. I would definitely say it is for the intermediate to advanced anal experts, though. A bit thick for a beginner or anal virgin. I even had slight reservations about inserting without some type of warmup with a smaller toy, and I consider myself an intermediate.

The ergonomic loop handle works nicely for thrusting and simultaneous oral on the clit. I even broke out our vibrating wand-type massager and placed it up against the handle, which nicely transmitted the vibrations through the glass to my girlfriend's g-spot. I also find that a jelly, or other flexible material, vibrating egg might fit nicely inside the loop to add another dimension to the No. 37.

Glass, of course, is great for temperature play, too.

Material / Texture

The Icicles No. 37, by Pipedream is made of beautiful black Borosilicate glass, so it is a 10 on the safety scale. It is very smooth with raised nubs. It is a realistic shape and is flared at the bottom for safety. Being glass, it is rigid as well, and holds temperature for temperature play.

I think this is designed as an anal probe and would probably feel good to those who enjoy thrusting, but could also be enjoyed as a plug or anal stretcher/exerciser. I don't think this is something that could be worn for longer term wear, though. You would not be able to sit with it inserted. The short insertable length instills confidence in knowing that it won't hit my partners cervix or bruise her inside.

Those who do not like texture, beware. The raised nubs on the shaft are very pronounced and plentiful, as well as smooth.

Design / Shape / Size

The head is a smooth, rounded, and realistic shape, which then tapers to a shaft. The shaft is loaded with raised nubs about the size of a peanut that can be felt upon insertion. It has a 4" insertable length and 1.5" diameter width, so you can thrust this vaginally without fear or ramming your partners cervix, or hurting her in any way. There is a flared base to prevent full insertion anally.

The looped handle makes for easy and ergonomic thrusting on my partner (I'd say the same for solo use as well). I found it easy to insert and control using the handle. The loop would also be beneficial if your hands had lube on them to aid in gripping. This also can double as a place to insert a jelly coated vibrator or bullet into the opening for enhanced vibration. I used the Bendable you too last night with one end partially inserted into the loop, while the other end was stimulating my partner's clit. She obviously enjoyed this quite a bit. I like to get creative with my sex toys!

Handle this with care as the loop could easily break off if dropped on a hard surface.

Performance

This toy is beautiful, firstly. We found it better than expected for vaginal play. The rounded head makes for easy insertion, but I think it could be slightly intimidating for the avg anal beginner. It gave great sensations vaginally, and had the bonus of being able to transmit vibrations with a wand vibrator held against the handle. It is also easy to use simultaneously with oral sex. The loop handle can also be used to rotate and spin the dildo while inserted for a different sensation altogether.

The Icicles No. 37 is definitely more versatile than I would have thought at first glance. It may not have provided as much direct G spot stimulation as the amethyst, but we certainly enjoyed using it. Like all glass toys, the Icicles works great for temperature play.

Like most glass dildos, this requires little to no lubrication for vaginal use. I'd suggest lube for anal, obviously, but it would not require copious amounts either.

Care and Maintenance

I won't bore you with the usual glass toy safety list, but obviously, this can be sterilized easily and shared safely with partners, used vaginally or anally. Glass can be sterilized with 10% bleach solution, boiled for a few minutes, thrown in the dishwasher, etc. Of course, be careful not to use it when it is boiling hot or you could burn yourself. Glass can also be used with any type lube, and is hypo allergenic/non porous, and phthalates-free.

You can store it in the package it came with, which is very secure and form fitting, or get a pouch to keep it in the drawer for easier access (sadly, it came with no pouch). It is easy to break as we found out when it rolled off the hamper onto the tile floor after cleaning, shattering the handle. The rest of the dildo stayed intact. EdenFantasys was great and I can't thank them enough for generously replacing the damaged item, as we were just getting acquainted with it after merely one session.

Packaging

Icicles is second to none when it comes to packaging and photographing their products. The Icicles No. 37 comes in a beautifully printed box, with gorgeous pictures and basic product descriptions on the box. The toy was firmly secured within a foam form to assure it is not damaged during shipment. There are no user instructions. The package could be reused for storage and is pretty enough that you won't want to toss it away.

As always, the package was shipped discreetly by EF.

Personal comments

I think this toy is great for vaginal and anal play, but I think it's best suited for those experienced with anal play and enjoy some girth (1.5" width). It is also appealing to those who enjoy textured shafts. I felt the price was reasonable for the quality, and catching this one on sale would be a no brainer. Honestly, I was a little uncertain how I would feel about this one when I took the assignment, and while I still don't know if I would like it anally, it was good enough using it vaginally that I would get it all over again.

I do think it is a serious anal toy and not for the faint of heart. I see this as a toy that will get regular use.

Experience

I gave this a go anally, and I found it too large for me. Maybe I was a little impatient, but the girth was a bit much for my tight rear, and I could not get past the 2nd muscle. I tend not to enjoy anything much wider than about 1" when it comes to anal play. Being glass, this definitely feels like a full 1.5" or more since there is no give. I definitely think this is for an advanced anal user or a size queen in that regard. We will continue to use this vaginally, though, on a regular basis. I will give it another try in the coming months and do a follow up if things change, but I really don't think this will be a go-to anal plug/probe for me. I am saving up for the Njoy pure medium for that.

By comparison, I had little trouble using the gold laced G glass dildo anally in the past. For me, the no. 37 would surely need a long, gradual warm up to be able to insert it. My partner is just beginning to explore anal penetration with small vibes, so I am not quite ready to subject her to the Icicles no. 37 yet and put her off. Maybe in time, if all goes well.

Follow-up commentary
We still like the No. 37 for foreplay. She does not climax from using it, but it is still an enjoyable toy for me to use on her during warm-up for PIV sex. We don't use it all the time, but that is more a function of trying out new toys and not having time for extended play lately. It is still a fun toy to use vaginally, but it's a bit too wide and intimidating for us anal beginners to enjoy in the backdoor.
