Just your Average Plug
The Ryder is a fairly basic butt plug, but offers the benefits of a silicone toy in terms of feel and material safety. Small enough for beginners but big enough to satisfy more advanced users and can be used as a warm up toy. I don't have too much to say on this product as it is your run of the mill Butt Plug, but some features should be noted. It is also one of the cheaper toys that Tantus offers, but this does not mean that its quality is any different.
I would classify this plug as a medium sized plug, small enough for a beginner willing to move slow, but large enough for an intermediate/advanced user to get pleasure and or use out of it. This toy is made out of silicone and has a somewhat glossy finish and is fairly smooth.
The shape is fairly simple (no bells and whistles) and is easy to insert and remove (with lube of course). The Ryder is more of an oval shape than of the typical cone like shape offered in butt plugs. It also has a flared base which ensures the safety of this anal toy. However, this flare is skinny enough that it allows for long term wear without discomfort as it sits between the butt cheeks with ease and can be worn underneath clothing if desired.
Cleanup is easy since this toy is made of silicone. It is dishwasher safe, can be cleaned with soap or can be boiled to sterilize it. However, remember that since this is a silicone toy, avoid using silicone lubes as they will damage the toy.
Unlike other butt plugs I have tried, which have been made of cheaper materials, the Ryder offers some additional sensations as the silicone transfers heat better than other materials. I found this to add to the experience and much more pleasurable.
Overall, the Ryder is a good toy to have in the arsenal and has many applications and uses for both men and women, alone or together, or during sex for that added dimension of pleasure.

After a few uses i still Enjoy this toy. It is great for prolonged wear, especially with its narrow base that fits between the buttocks well. This is not to suggest that it doesn't flare, because this toy does and is safe to use. I have found that with enough lube, doing some kegel exercises, using the sphincter muscles to make the toy move just the slightest provides an excellent sensation.
I do need to mention the size stats for this toy :
Insertable length:
3 3/4"
Circumference:
4 3/4"
Diameter:
1 1/2"
I found these measurements to be very true, although the diameter/girth is not as big as the numbers suggest. This toy goes in and comes out easily due to the silicone's polished smooth texture.
The Top 10 Butt Plug rating on this toy is justified. The price is reasonable, the material is outstanding, the design is simple..... I guess less truly is more!

The Ryder in Copper is so pretty. I'd love to see more toys offered in this colour. :) Is that likely to happen at all? I haven't seen it on any other listing. Is this colour discontinued?

Is this colour discontinued?Yes, it sure has been discontinued. It was weird - Copper was a slow seller, and we got some feedback from retailers that it wasn't at all popular. Then when we discontinued last Spring it got snapped up pretty quickly. I only have closeouts left, but we're hoping that by discontinuing Copper we'll have more time in the production schedule to pursue other colors.

Some, not all silicone lube will 'stick' to silicone material. I have read that some premium silicone lubes will work with some premium silicone materials. You can try some on the base and see, when I last tried it kinda etched the silicone material. (does that make sense) It left a indentation were the lube was.
That's the basics, Some of the other members can give a more technical answer. -
Some silicone lubes will bond to some silicones. This seems to be more of an issue the softer the silicone is, so toys like O2 and VixSkin will be more susceptible (makes sense, as the silicone has fewer crosslinks). Quality lubes seem to have less of a problem also, and it is likely that cheaper silicones might have more of a problem.
I have tested quality silicone lube on several quality silicone toys and did not notice a permanent problem, but (a) the toys developed "hives" that lasted for a few hours (was gone the next day) and (b) it's really hard to clean the silicone lube off of the toys, but it can be done. While this is purely subjective, but it seemed that the silicone lube wasn't as "lubey" on silicone toys. I don't use silicone lube on silicone toys anymore - it's just not worth the trouble.

That's funny. Two of the toys that I want to purchase are out of stock as well. The Vixen Ryder and Johnny. Then I noticed that several Vixen products are out of stock at the moment. I wonder when all of these toys will be restocked.
