The Cobalt Bubble Plug is a high-quality glass toy made by Don Wands. I love the feel of glass; so smooth, solid, and such a hefty weight to it. I found the Cobalt at a local toy store a couple years ago and was drawn in by the aesthetically pleasing design. I knew I just HAD to try out those twin bulges!

This is a larger plug (pictures/dimensions below), so I wouldn’t recommend it for novices. But if you have some degree of anal experience, you should be able to take this beauty with the help of a bit of foreplay and lubricant. My favorite use for the Cobalt is with my partner, but this toy is great for solo use too. Inserting the Cobalt in your anus will produce a wonderfully full feeling. Couple that with vaginal penetration (from a toy or a penis), and the feeling of fullness is intensified tenfold. Even better, your partner will be able to feel the double bulges of the Cobalt, adding an extra caress to the already incredibly-tight feeling of your vagina during DP.

Fear not, this is a toy for boys, too! Slip the well-lubed plug into his anus and he'll see stars. The bulge at the base will rub against his prostate, providing continuous, firm pressure. While the weight of the plug makes being on top with the plug in inadvisable (it'll try to slip out), try hopping on top of your male partner and giving him a ride while he wears it. Material, Texture, Cleaning, & Care
Because the Cobalt is made of glass, it has an incredibly smooth, non-porous surface. The smoothness of the surface means there’s little to no friction with this toy, especially once you add lubricant. This toy is meant to make you feel the girth and weight of it, not friction during thrusting. What you WILL feel are the two bulges on this plug as they slip past the snug ring of muscles in your anus.

As with all glass, the toy doesn’t have any particular taste or scent. Tempered glass like the Cobalt's has the highest safety rating, a 10. The non-porous material is compatible with silicone- and water-based lubricants. Even better, the Cobalt’s glass construction means that cleaning is a breeze! Between anal uses, spritz with an antibacterial toy cleaner, rinse, dry, and store. Antibacterial hand soap works, too. If you’re trying to use the toy for anal and vaginal play during different sessions (in the same session just use condoms!), you have two options: bleach or boiling. These also make the Cobalt safe for person-to-person use. You can boil the Cobalt for five to ten minutes or soak it in a 10% bleach solution. They are equally effective.

The Cobalt came in a tacky, clear plastic packaging that had to be basically ripped apart to get to the Cobalt. Thankfully, the package included a padded velvet bag to store the Cobalt in when not in use. When you store the Cobalt, keep it away from other glass toys, either by wrapping in a strip of cloth or storing it in the included velvet bag. Glass toys have the propensity to chip when stored without some barrier between them, so keep your toy and yourself safe and wrap it up!

Design / Shape / Size
I LOVE the shape of this toy! The Cobalt is 4.75" in length. The insertable length is 4.25". Picture is a measurement from the top of the base to the top of the toy.


The Cobalt has a nice, tapered head that starts with a rounded, 1/2” tip. The head widens gradually, eventually coming to a full 1.75" in diameter at the toy's widest point.


There's a 1" neck after the bulb and then the best part comes along. A SECOND bulb, for your anal pleasure! This bulb isn't quite as large as the first, measuring only 1.25" in diameter.


Below the second bulge is a 1/2" long neck that is 1" in diameter, followed by a solid glass base that is 2.25" in diameter.

Design / Shape / Size (continued)

This is my one quibble with the design, and the reason I give the Cobalt only 4 stars. 1/2" isn't much room when you've got a round base keeping the second bulge sitting at the edge of your anus. When the toy is really well lubed up and you start to clench down as you orgasm, chances are that the 1/4" diameter difference between the second bulge and the neck won't be enough to keep that bulge inside you. I've never had the entire toy slip out during climax, but the last bulb routinely slips out when my muscles clamp down during orgasm. Hell, maybe I'm too excited and it's the fault of the near-gaper effect. Whatever the case, I wish the designers had made the neck just a tiny bit longer and narrower, to account for the fact that the circular base isn't going to lie flat against your crack. Again, though, this toy is WONDERFUL. I can handle a little slippage at the end, since during the main course everything stays as it should.

Experience
This plug is my favorite of my entire (rather vast!) anal toy collection. I use it all the time with my partner. I cannot recommend it enough! I love to have this plug in my ass while my partner is in my pussy. The double-bulge design makes me feel full enough to die (in the wonderful, earth-shattering way we all love!), and my partner can feel the ridges through my vaginal wall, which rubs against him with a pressure that drives him crazy. Between the added tightness (thanks to DP) and the ridges, we both lose control very quickly. This is my favorite toy for DP with a partner, and my man agrees, it's his favorite too! If you haven't used the Cobalt for that purpose yet, what are you waiting for? Your ass (and your partner) will thank you!
