Makes a Great Vaginal Plug

I had been looking for a toy to use as a vaginal plug for a while, and decided to try the Icicles No. 14. Although it's intended to be a butt plug, it works very well for me, and provides exactly what I was looking for; a full feeling, something to squeeze around, and hands-free g-spot stimulation.

Use

When it comes to masturbation, I'm a bit lazy. I don't want to do a lot of work; I just want to lay back, relax, and enjoy myself while my toys do most of it for me. I like to have both my clit and g-spot stimulated, but it is hard to find rabbit vibrators that hit both spots, and thrusting with a dildo while using a vibrator can be too much effort.

I started looking for a hands-free toy to give me a full feeling and apply some pressure to my g-spot while I focus on the clitoral stimulation. I looked through Eden's butt plug selection, and found the Icicles No. 14. It looked thick enough, hard enough, and curved enough to do what I wanted, and luckily I was right. I'm sure it would be excellent for prostate stimulation as well, for those who have the necessary parts, and are able to handle a toy of this size anally.

Material / Texture

The Icicles No. 14 (like all of the Pipedream Icicles line) is made from Pyrex glass, also known as borosilicate glass. It's a very safe material (a 10/10 on Eden's safety scale) because it's non-porous and can be sterilized. Pyrex is less dense than regular glass, which makes it shatter resistant. Glass hold temperatures well, so you can heat it in warm water or cool it in cold water to experiment with different sensations. Pyrex can handle temperature changes better than regular glass, although you still wouldn't want to suddenly take it from very hot to very cold.

The glass is completely smooth, and of course, very hard. Hard materials can sometimes make toys feel larger, but I was actually surprised by how easy the 14 was for me to insert, thanks to the smoothness and the shape. The hard glass is able to apply a lot of pressure to my vaginal walls, including my g-spot.

Design / Shape / Size

The Icicles 14 has a pacifier-like shape, with a ringed handle and a teardrop shaped head. The entire length is 5 3/4" and the insertable length is 3 3/4". Since these toys are handmade, the size can vary slightly.

When I pulled it out of the box, it looked quite thick, and I was worried it would be too large. The head is 5 1/2" around at the largest part. I don't have a lot of experience with toys on the thicker side. The Sergeant (which is the same circumference) was very painful for me, and the Form 6 (which is 1/4" smaller) was difficult for me to insert.

The 14 has a much more tapered shape than either of those toys, and that combined with the smooth, slippery material makes it much easier to insert. There is also a smooth curve between the neck and the bottom of the head, which makes for easier removal.

The loop in the handle is 2" wide, and I can fit 2 fingers through it, but those with large hands may only be able to hook one finger around it.

The neck is curved, which directs the tip of the toy towards the g-spot or prostate. It's 1 1/2" long and about 1" wide. It's narrow enough to not stretch my vaginal opening, which I don't enjoy, and is long enough that the toy can reach my g-spot.

Performance

This plug is quite filling for me, but it is much easier to insert than I expected. I thought I would have to warm up with a smaller toy, but I was able to slide it in pretty easily with a bit of lube and some clitoral stimulation.

Once in place, the size and shape cause the tip of the toy to press up into my g-spot. The stimulation isn’t as intense as I would get thrusting with a curved glass dildo, but it definitely still adds to my experience.

I enjoy squeezing my PC muscles to get more pressure from the plug. Due to the weight of the glass, it would probably be useful for strengthening the muscles as well. I also enjoy the firm resistance of the toy when my muscles naturally contract during orgasm.

The handle makes the 14 easy to grip, insert and remove. Glass can get very slippery when it’s lubed up, so it’s nice to have an easy place to grip. I can also use it to help rock the toy against my g-spot, if I'm not being totally lazy.

I find the 14 works best along with smaller clit vibrators. The handle can interfere with clitoral stimulation if I am trying to use a larger toy, like a wand. On the other hand, having a wand placed against the handle of the plug can provide vibrations to both my clit and g-spot, but it can get pretty loud which distracts me.

The handle prevents me from being able to wear the plug under clothing, or sit down with it inserted, so I only use this during masturbation.

I have attempted to use this plug anally, but it’s too large for me to insert, so unfortunately I can’t comment on how well it performs that way. If I work up to it in the future I'll be sure to mention it in a follow-up.

Care and Maintenance

Glass toys can be washed with warm water and antibacterial soap, or toy cleaner. Since the Icicles 14 is smooth with no nooks or crannies, it's quite easy to wash. You can also sterilize it by wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution, boiling it for 3 minutes, or running it through the dishwasher with no soap. Sterilization is very important if you would like to use the toy both vaginally and anally, or share it between partners.

It might be a good idea to purchase a toy pouch to store your toy in to keep it protected from scratches. Personally, I hate pouches because I like to be able to see my toys so I can find what I want easily. I keep my toys in a plastic storage unit, and I just pack my glass toys between my silicone or TPR toys to prevent them from rolling around or banging together. Glass won't react with other materials, so you don't have to worry about the toys touching.

Glass is compatible with any type of lubricant.
Follow-up commentary
I wouldn't say it's one of my favourite toys, but I still use the Icicles 14 on a pretty regular basis. It doesn't amaze me, but it does the job I want it to do, and I will continue to use it as a vaginal toy.

I haven't been able to use the 14 as a butt plug, the way it was intended, and based on my attempts, I don't think I will ever be able to use it that way. I can take a toy with a 5" circumference easily, with no warm up, but the 14's extra 1/2" makes a huge difference for me. No matter how relaxed, lubricated, and warmed up I am, I can't get more than the tip inside. I don't even get a feeling of stretching or pain, it just slides in up to my limit point, and then won't budge any further.
