Male anal stimulation round 2

I can't really fault much of a bad design on this toy, it satisfies most of the main complaints from my Tantus Pro Touch Plug review, but it still doesn't work for me. And since it doesn't want to stay in, it doesn't get used. A great toy that never sees the light of day, so sad.

Use

My first anal toy experiementation, as you can read in my Pro Touch Plug review [link|https://www.edenfantasys.com/sex-toy-reviews/anal-toys/a-curved-finger-like-plug], was a utter and complete failure, except that I choose a good toy material. In my second round, I did a little more research, and found the Aneros male toys. I was also looking for a toy that I could use while having sex with my wife, that would stay in place and not move an inch. Aneros offered many different versions, from the anal beginner, to the medium one like this one for all users, to an advanced massive stimulator. These are designed to be P-spot magnets, and they say if you do it right and with enough practice, you can have hands free multiple orgasms without ejaculation. Sounds like a lot of fun to me, where do I sign up?

Material / Texture

Before I ordered this, I don't know what I expected the toy to feel like. I guess I figured it would be soft like silicone, but just white. But was I ever wrong! Once again Eden provides all of this information, where other sites are a little more limited. Opening the packaging and pulling the toy out, I was greeted with a toy that was very light, firm, and extremely white. Which would then go into my ass where it could potentially come out brown. At least I will know if I was clean or not back there. Since it is made out of plastic, this receives an 8 out of 10 on the Edenfantasys toy safety scale. Not as safe as the silicone toy that I just reviewed, but still plenty safe for my needs.

The plastic is still latex and phthalates free, hypo-allergenic and a food grade material. It is safe to use with any lube you like, be it silicone, water or oil based. For extended play silicone would last the longest, but since this will not stay in your butt for all day long like a butt plug would, any lube should suffice.

Design / Shape / Size

The Helix is one of their middle of the road toys in terms of size and design. It is 5 inches tall, with about 4 inches of that being insertable. The stem at the bottom is about 4 inches long, and fits comfortably between my cheeks. The back side has a circle on the end which points down and acts like a handle, while the other end has a circle which points up and stimulates the perineum during use. The widest point at the tip is just 1 inch at its widest, the middle is about 3/4 of an inch wide, and the smallest part is about 1/2 of an inch wide, all when viewed with the toy laying flat on its side. The toy finishes with a quick transition from the smallest bulb to the small stem, which I thought would allow this toy to stay between my cheeks securely during sex.

Performance

This toy was designed very nicely, but I don't think it was a perfect fit for my ass. The bulges were a nice size, it has a good smooth finish for going in, and tapering down to the small bulges at the base gives my ass something to grab onto. Also with the small 1/2 inch bulb to the even smaller short stem, it seemed like this would stay put. However, even though the toy never came out during use, it always felt like the toy was pushing out off my ass, which led to more distraction than satisfaction. I mean I really hate to hate this toy, but it just doesn't stay in, and that is the main feature that I want in an anal toy. I want it to go in, smoothly, and press firmly against my prostate. All while I have sex with my wife and thrust away. Even the perineum circle was a great touch, because I love stimulation down there.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning this toy is a breeze. We would pull it out, wash it with warm water and anti-bacterial soap, maybe twice if my ass smell grabbed onto it, and place it back into our anal toy only bag. We never boiled it, and I would recommend against trying it, or placing it in the dishwasher.

If you are really concerned about toy safety, Aneros now offers and Eden carries a silicone version of this toy, called the Aneros Helix Syn. For a few extra dollars, if I was about to order another one of these, I would probably order the silicone version.

Packaging

It has been a while since I purchased this, but from what I remember, it came in a 2 piece package. The front was clear plastic displaying the toy, and the rear was cardboard that would slide free to allow the Helix out. On this cardboard was information about the toy. I think I still have the cardboard somewhere at home, but the plastic was recycled.

Experience

My main goal when I purchased this was to have something that would stay in my ass during sex with my wife, and provide P-spot stimulation. Since the first toy I tried had the largest part of the toy as the neck, this didn't work out. I debated with the Aneros Helix and MGX as my next toy to try, but I liked the look of the Helix better because of its bigger bulges, even though its stem was pretty short. The Helix unfortunately didn't really work either. It still felt like it was always slipping out, and I would think that it was on the verge of failing out of my ass and onto the floor, which would always distract me from enjoying my time with my wife. I tried it a few times, but it never really satisfied me, and it has been sitting in its bag for at least the past year and a half.
Follow-up commentary
My rating stays the same at 4 stars because its a well made product, it just doesn't work for me. And since my wife has only done anal play with me on a basis that I enjoy it and she doesn't, this doesn't really get used that often. It sits in a small toy pouch with the Tantus ProTouch, out of site and out of mind. The only thing that I would change, if they had the silicone version available when I purchased this, I would have gotten that one instead.

The aneros are supposed to move, not stay in one place so it stimulates your prostate. Sorry it didn't work out. Try the Njoy plugs maybe?
  • Contributor: no longer here
Have to second Trysexual here. The Helix is supposed to move. Sorry it did not do what you wanted it to. I have the Helix Syn and love it.

Excellent review, and I'd echo what Trysexual said above. Having said that, there seem to be more disappointed Aneros users than fans from what I've read (and in my own experience).
