Metal Worx Mr. Smooth - steel wand discontinued by Pipedream - review by ~LaUr3n~

Ever since I tried the NJoy Plug Large I've wanted more steel for my ass. This stainless steel probe from Pipedream's line of Metal Wörx products is absolutely gorgeous. Meet Mr. Smooth. It's a hefty finely crafted piece of pleasure for your butt. I wouldn't say that it is for the advanced user in size, but it isn't the best for a beginner. However, it is a must have for any metal toy lover of those who like to put interesting and gorgeous things up their rear. Metal anal toys, or just metal for that matter, is an amazing experience. The coolness of the material is awesome in its own right and the shape just makes it even more fun. If you are looking for a hardcore looking plug that you can even wear for long periods, Mr. Smooth can fit that bill. I expected him to be an intense experience. He wasn't, but still lovely just the same. It can be used by men or women, solo or with a partner. If you hate it, make it a paper weight.

Mr. Smooth is made of metal. Pipedream describes it as high quality polished steel. It also states that the material is hygienic and non-porous. It can be boiled for sterilization and sharing between partners or orifices. This steel is eco-friendly and nickle free. Metal, like glass, is great for temperature play. It starts off shockingly cool and then will begin to heat up with your body and retain that warmth. You can of course speed up this process by warming it up in water first. The weight of metal is really amazing too. It seams heavier than glass. The non-porous nature makes this easy to use with only a little bit of lube! You won't have to break the bank lubing this thing up. The luster is unmatched, as well. It's gorgeous!

Mr. Smooth has a really interesting shape. It sort of looks like a more stream lined baseball bat. I don't have any toys with this shape, butt plug or not. Basically there is a long torpedo like shape that then thins drastically and has a bulbed end for an anchor.



The total length is 6 1/4" long, pretty long for an anal plug! Before the bulb it is 4 3/4" long. That is quite a way to go before the anal muscles get to relax. The beginning end has a very nicely rounded starting point. It is not at all pointy. The majority of the weight is in the first third of the toy where it is thickest. It's maximum circumference in 4" around. About half way down it thins to 2 1/3" and then at the smallest point, it is a mere 1 12". this is just a tad thicker than a pencil. The bulb at the end is very round, a bit smaller than a ping pong ball and is 3 7/8" around. Probably due to optical illusion, it looks much smaller then the shaft thickness, but it is only a 1/8" difference. This is an effective anal stopper. It is also a good handle for thrusting.

The plug is quite hefty and you will feel this when you use it. The added weight of the material can make this plug feel larger than it is, especially when you are standing up, thanks to gravity.

The design isn't the most sexual looking. If you saw it lying on a counter, you might not realize its purpose right away. To me, it reminds me of a mortar and pestle. I'd believe someone if they told me that...but I'd still be thinking it would feel great in my bum!

Mr. Smooth and I had our first date in my shower. I lubed him up with my favorite anal lube from Intimate Organics. It was hard to keep the lube on this toy! It was easiest if I lubes my hand and then smeared in on the toy. I dabbed myself with a little, as well. I reached back to insert the plug and found that because of the slick metal, I needed to be a bit more patient with inserting this otherwise it would just slid around and never find the entry point.

Once I did, I was met with a bit of resistance. I blame this on not being able to keep enough lubricant on the probe. Now worries, though! I got the first half of the toy in fairly easily. Ironically enough, once it got thin, that is where I really had to PUSH in. With a softer material and curved shape your body will help take the toy in, with this, the shape is not an natural. I found that the bulb didn't want to lie flush against my skin. I often had about an inch of the neck still sticking out. This looks a bit funny, let me tell you! I though it would be hot looking to just have the ball be the part that was sticking out. I'd push it in, and it would settle high up on the thin part every time.

Whatever. I had a lot of fun doing that, though! pushing on the bulb at the end in a pulse like pattern is very stimulating. I did notice that I didn't feel as full as I would have liked. It is still easy to get very aroused by using Mr. Smooth. The weight of it is very interesting. A tight ass will keep it in, no problem, but I still felt the weight of it constantly putting a bit of pressure on the sphincters. If it were not for the weight, this plug would be very easy to just get comfortable with and sort of "forget" it is there. Speaking of that, I did wear this plug for about a half an hour. I don't like to wear hard plugs for very long. This one didn't do so bad as a long term toy. I was able to sit, as long as it was a sort surface like a couch. I don't recommend trying to sit on a hard chair. I can totally imagine a BDSM type situation where someone might want to be roped to a chair with this in, but it is not worth the risk that this could get sucked inside. With a soft surface, it won't be forced inside the anal cavity.

So let's talk about safety. This toy CAN be pushed in entirely. If you don't force it, normal use will not cause this toy to get "lost" inside. The good news is that on the slight chance an accident happens, the design of the bulbed end would make retrieval a lot easier.

I did use Mr. Smooth in another way, for kegels! If you insert it vaginally, it doesn't provide that much stimulation, at least not for me. At first I was aroused by the cool temperatures, but after it absorbed my body heat, I was as interested anymore. I started to play with the weight. if you stand and insert the probe up to the thinnest point, it can be used to strengthen kegels hardcore! Let gravity do its job and allow the probe to slowly slide out. Make sure to place a hand below the toy, so you don't drop it! If you clench your kegels and try to hold it in, you get a REALLY good work out!

Steel is very similar to glass to take care of. It's more durable because it isn't going to break on you if you are careless with it. You can sterilize steel by boiling it or soaking it in a 10% bleach and water solution. Steel can also be placed in the dishwasher. Moderate cleaning can be done simply with a toy wipe, spray, or hot water and soap. There is an extra bit of cleaning that needs to be done to preserve the surface life of steel. If the surface is not kept clean, it can corrode. Make sure to wipe down your toy thoroughly and shortly after use.

This toy does collect finger impressions really easily. Even if the toy is clean, the transfer of oils from your fingertips will almost always be present. Using a dishwasher soap, or rubbing alcohol can remove them.

Store in the great box it comes in.

All of the toys from this line come in awesome discreet cases that are just as durable as the toys themselves! It comes in a metal box with a latch that closes on the from. Inside the toy is nestled in a foam cut out. It comes with a picture of the toy on the top, but it is a sticker and can be removed to make this super discreet. The label on the bottom shares some information about the toy and can also be removed. It makes an excellent gift for the high end toy lover.

I really enjoy my Mr. Smooth, but I don't think the shape is advanced enough for me. Next, I'm going to go for a thicker/shorter, or more bulbed design.

The only other thing I would like to note is that after two uses, it feels like the surface of the toy is different. I feel a bit of what I'd compare to pitting on chrome. However slight, I feel micro spots of imperfection. It can not be felt internally, but it is something I am most definitely going to watch out for.
