The "power balls" are designed more for the intermediate-advanced anal bead user. They are a larger size, with a nylon string connecting the five balls. These balls have a great sensation with a more "weighted" interior. They are definitely a bit of a challenge, but provide a great sensation. I definitely would recommend using lubrication, at least on the first ball. I use the cherry-flavored "Anal-lube" also sold on edenfantasys.com as it is great for anal penetration. By lubricating the first ball, it eases the path for the rest of the balls to enter.
I have only been able to get 3/5 balls in at a time, but I enjoy the challenge of working up to them. I initially started out with the "purple jelly beads" which were definitely for much more of a beginner. The power balls are definitely more of a challenge, so I wouldn't recommend them for a beginner.
The balls are covered in latex which is more difficult to clean since it is a porous material. I typically wash them before and after use, and have never had any major problems with cleaning them.
The nylon string connecting the balls makes it easy to get in. One of the best aspects of the string is that it is softer, and less rigid. The "purple jelly beads" I have are more rigid in their connection. The string at the end can be tugged on to provide a great sensation. This toy is great alone or with a partner during double penetration. My boyfriend loved the feel of the balls inside me, while he penetrated me vaginally. He could feel them moving around inside me, so while it was pleasurable for me, it was for him too! Additionally, when you pull the balls out, the sensation is overwhelming with the POP! POP! POP!

How many can you put in?

I managed 4 anally. Everyone is different, some people can insert more length than width, others more width than length. The jingling is quite different. How about everyone else? How many can you put in?

I was wondering after looking at these, is anal stretching really safe. These look really large and just wondering if it is really safe to stretch that area. I have heard that it could cause problems with holding things in.

I use a few toys that are in the 2" diameter range on a regular basis, such as the Njoy Eleven. I usually use about two oz of lube via a shooter to keep things slick, I have no problems with the remaining lube leaking out. Just like a vagina, the sphincters are muscles that have a lot of elastic properties. They must be trained and you have to learn how to relax those muscles. Starting out small and working you way up is the best bet.
Just remember to go slow, use lots of good lube and if you experience any pain, stop and add more lube and start over.
I should mention that it took my about eight months to get to that size, and it takes two other toys and about 30 min to get there.

What kinds of lubricants are safe to use? How do you clean this toy? You mentioned that they are not best for beginners, so how big are the balls?
You should also mention that since these are porous, they shouldn't be used vaginally if they've been used anally.
Do you find the nylon cord is very difficult to clean?
