Not For His Butt... Or Mine.

This toy delivers deep, penetrating vibration throughout the whole toy. It feels good anally, and also, surprisingly, vaginally. It's a shame neither of us could fit this guy all the way in our butts, but we plan to keep trying.

Use

The Butt Boy by Rocks Off is a silicone anal plug. It has a perineum stimulator at a ninety degree angle to the plug, where it houses one of Rocks Off's own waterproof RO-80mm bullets. The top of the perineum stimulator, where it actually touches the body, has three bumps or ridges, similar to those found on the Feeldoe, and both sides are inscribed with the words "Butt-Boy."

I definitely would not recommend this toy for beginners. It's very large, and despite being made of silicone, has almost no give, so you feel every millimeter of its girth. Save this one for more advanced anal players. Relax, take your time, use plenty of lubricant, and make sure you know your bum well. Considering myself to be intermediate in all things anal, I still could not get this guy all the way in, and neither could my boyfriend, who has the same level of experience as I do.

Whatever you do, DO NOT THRUST WITH THIS TOY. It is a butt plug. As such its main purpose in life is to be inserted in the anus, and just sit there for a while. Thrusting may cause internal injuries. Please be careful with your bodies.

Material / Texture

The Butt Boy is made of 100% silicone (except for the bullet). It has only a faint rubbery smell and taste, which has dissipated even more until it's barely noticeable unless you sniff or lick it. The surface has a matte finish, giving it a good amount of drag against the skin, and requires copious amounts of lubricant for proper insertion. The whole toy is extremely firm with very little give, even under pressure. Being a butt plug, the shape is not realistic at all; it's a cone with a slightly curved appendage on it.

The ridges or nubs on the external stimulator feel very good when rocking against the toy, and with the toy fully inserted anally I believe the nubs, or at least the one farthest away from the plug portion of the toy, would have reached my clitoris. The bullet housing inside the perineum stimulator is ribbed vertically down the tube to allow air in, making removal of the bullet before cleaning a breeze, without the bullet ever accidentally falling out of the toy while in use or storage.

Design / Shape / Size

The Butt Boy is designed to have the cone portion inserted into the anus with the bullet housing oriented toward the penis in order to stimulate the perineum and prostate at the same time. Overall the design is sound, though both my boyfriend and myself found it too big to insert all the way, and it would probably work just as well if it were a quarter of an inch narrower.

This toy is in no way discreet: it looks like what it is, a sex toy, and even has the words "Butt-Boy" right on it. I would say, if you don't mind the luggage checker giving you a funny look, it is definitely good for travel. This is because the whole toy is completely waterproof, including the bullet, and the box will keep the toy from getting damaged. And even though the button requires some pressure to start vibration, make sure to take out the batteries anyway, as I hear that accidental buzzing can be incredibly embarrassing.

Performance

For me, the best part of this toy is the bullet. It's approximately the length of my palm (my hands are average size for a woman) and is completely waterproof. Even outside its silicone Butt Boy friend, its vibrations are deep and quite buzzy, and the tip of the bullet is fairly pointy, making it great to pinpoint exactly where you want it to buzz. I also like that it takes (and comes with!) a fairly common battery size. N-size batteries may not be as easy to find as AA's, but I don't have to scour the globe for some obscure, expensive button cell batteries, either. There's even a sheet of plastic around the included battery that keeps the battery in tight, and serves to demonstrate how the battery is to be inserted.

(Please forgive my horrible photo quality)

The only complaint I have is, again, the size of the insertable portion of the toy. It's not too long, but unfortunately it's a little bit too wide. The product page says it measures 1 3/4 inches wide, but it's more like 2 inches, and that last quarter-inch makes all the difference for us both.

Care and Maintenance

Being a toy that is inserted anally, proper cleaning and sterilizing of your Butt Boy is of utmost importance. Here is how you can do it: Being made of silicone, the toy can be boiled for 3-5 minutes to achieve a sterile surface. Just make sure you remove the bullet first. The whole toy, bullet and all, can be sterilized using a 10% bleach solution. If you don't care about sterilization, it can also be washed with hot water and dish soap, or a toy wipe. After cleaning the toy, let it air dry before putting it away. We keep ours in its original package.

PLEASE NOTE:

It is recommended that you use only water-based lubricant on this item. This is because some silicone lubricants can damage some silicone toys and make them unsafe for use. If you want to use a silicone lube, perform a spot-test somewhere inconspicuous on the toy. Look for any blistering, peeling, melting, or overly-sticky spots, as this is a sign that the lubricant has damaged the silicone.

Packaging

The Butt Boy comes in a lovely black box that it hinged at the bottom and has a plastic window through which you can see the whole toy. It reads "Butt-Boy" across the top and "Rocks-Off (TM) LTD" across the bottom with the Rocks Off heart logo in the corner. On the back is a paper-and-adhesive label that tells what the toy is, what it's made of, tells us it's waterproof, and that the battery is included, all in English, German, Spanish, and French. There is also a picture on the label demonstrating how it's meant to be used.

You open the box by pulling the lid down toward yourself, and inside is a blister tray that holds the toy securely in place, ensuring the toy's safety in shipment as well as a pretty look on the shelf. The bullet is kept right in the toy, and the included battery is already in the bullet with a circle of paper over the negative contact to keep it from losing power. Under the tray is what appears to be a Rocks Off catalog that contains information about many of their products as well as information translations in English (UK), Czech, Croatian, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Chinese, and Polish (I'm shocked not to find Japanese in there as well). On the back is the guarantee activation code in all those languages as well.

I find this package is wonderful (and beautiful) for storing the toy. It makes a great gift box, which for me it was a gift to my boyfriend.

Personal comments

This review is very late because of a couple of different factors. One, I bought it as a gift in early October, as I recall, and it wasn't intended to be opened until late October. Two, soon after it was opened, I had to leave, and was gone for a whole month. Three, neither of us can use it properly, and I've been trying this whole time to no avail. You can read my experiences below.

Experience

Unfortunately I wasn't around when my boyfriend tried this toy. I bought it for him for his birthday, which was in late October, but had to go home to my parents' place before we got to try it out. I was absent for a month, during which at some point he gave it a try. He told me no matter how hard he tried or how relaxed he was, or how much lube he put on it, he simply couldn't open quite enough to take the toy all the way in to its neck. The exact words he used were, "I thought I was going to explode! And not in the good way!" He has a tendency to give up easily on things that frustrate him, and I haven't returned to it to try and help him get it in yet, but I hope to eventually. I find it hard to believe that he can't take it eventually, when we have a toy with a knot on it wider (though a little softer) than this toy.

I was sad to learn that, in his solo adventures with his new toy, my boyfriend was unable to get it all the way in. So I decided, on a day that I was home alone for several hours (which is almost every day, since he works and I currently don't), I would try it myself. I woke up well-rested, kissed my boy goodbye, and got the toy from its place in a drawer in our bed's foundation. Using my fingers, I applied some lube to my anus and slipped in first one finger, then two, relaxing the muscle and preparing it for what lay ahead. Finally when my fingers could do no more, I opened the box.

Holding the Butt Boy in my hand was a shocking experience. It was larger than the website had said, and quite hefty. I applied as much lube as I thought was necessary, laid down on my back, and began the insertion process. The hardness of the silicone assisted in making initial insertion easier, and it felt good. But after only about an inch was in, I was met with a little resistance. Upon inspection, I saw that the lubricant had beaded up into tiny droplets, rather than coating the whole toy, and no matter how much I added, it tried to run off. This had never happened with this lube before, so I had to think it was the toy. I selected a thicker water-based lube, to similar effect, but decided to press on anyway by pushing some of the lube into myself before continuing.

After some work, and only a little annoyance, I got the toy inside me until about a quarter of an inch before the sharp angle down to the neck. That's my favorite part of a butt plug, that last quarter-inch when everything suddenly settles into place, and I was getting quite excited. I pushed gently, and felt a small stab of pain at the orifice. Letting off the pressure, I held the toy inside myself and readjusted my hips for a better angle. Another push, another twinge, another shift, two or three times in a row. I couldn't quite seem to get the right angle.

I decided to try turning over onto my side, the way I usually lay when using a dildo anally, or when we have anal sex. Draping my arm over my hip and across my bum, tried again. I felt the toy go maybe a millimeter deeper than it had been before, and once again it hurt. Relax, Pixie. I relaxed, and pushed, and my butt accepted more of the toy, till I could almost feel it pop in. My body was starting to fatigue, and I was getting frustrated with myself. I stopped, did something else for a little while, then came back to the toy.

This time I tried it on my knees. With lots of lube and my patience renewed, I knelt over the toy in my hand, braced my shoulders on the bed, and slipped the toy up and inside my anus. I felt it go just as far as it had before with no pain, and thought this might be it. A gentle push incurred no pain, and the edge of the toy met the edge of my hole before it resisted again. Angling it slightly, I felt the edge pop in along about an inch of the circumference of the flare, and I thought I was almost there. I was, but it was just too much, and after an hour of fiddling in this position, rocking and buzzing and trying so hard, I finally gave up, having gained not another inch of the flare inside me. Disappointed, I turned to a conversation I'd had with another user, who wanted to know how it worked vaginally for a woman.

I sterilized it, dried it off and slipped it into my vagina. It felt... strange. The vagina isn't really meant to have cones put in it. But it also felt good, and I found that, fully inserted, the flare stimulated only just inside me, and the perineum stimulator rested tightly against my clitoris. I could move it slowly against a very sensitive spot by using my PC muscles alone, leaving my hands free. I rocked against it, and surprisingly quickly, I orgasmed. It was a unique feeling, given the angles on the toy and the size of the flare. It was not quite painful, and felt very good. I have tried several time to insert it anally, and had a very similar experience.

Despite the fact that neither of us can use it properly yet I find it appropriate to give it four stars for the following reasons. The design of the toy is very good, and quite safe. The toy is durable, and comes with a bullet and battery rather than making you buy them separately. It feels good even if you can't get it all the way in. And docking a star just because I can't stretch my bum wide enough yet is unfair.

1-3/4" is definitely larger than average, and something that needs to be worked up to for most. Sounds like you have given it a good try, but it represents a nice goal for you or your boyfriend (or both) to work up to. Thanks for the great review.

Yeah, we have a couple of toys that are 1 3/4 inches wide, but when I measured this one it's actually 2 inches. We could take it if it was the size portrayed on the site, but live and learn. I'm willing to work up to it, but Wolfie (the boyfriend) seemed to be too frustrated to try again on his own. I know he likes the buzz, so I may just try it on him anyway and go slow

Oddly enough I had that same issue with a water-based lubricant on a silicone toy, not only did it bead up, but it slid right off, not even offering a thin trail or anything. Even after rubbing it into the surface it still had issues keeping the lube on (actually that would be the tiger). I've been meaning to go get a new lube for it, just never had the time, I'll let you know if I find something. It's no fun when they lie about the size, though it really makes me want to try this toy out myself now *grins and winks*.

Lacey Fennec, I'm not so sure they lied as they were mistaken about the size. I certainly had the same thing happen with lube, hardly any stayed on at all. I'm gonna give it a shot with our other lube, which is a cooling one but seems to be a little thicker. I'll let everyone know how it goes
