The material is made with a TPR rubber which is a bit hard and it had a slight rubber smell at first but it was also very easy to clean. This material does make it a lint magnet so I would suggest a silk bag of some sort to keep it clean during uses or make sure to give it a quick wash before using it again. Just to be safe, I recommend removing the vibrating bullet before cleaning will ensure it is not damaged. Once that is removed it is easy to clean with soap & water or a specialized toy cleaner
