Triple ripple royal - butt plug discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Inside out

The Triple Ripple Royal was a royal disappointment for me. First some technical information. It is a rubber butt plug, with a 5 and 3/4 inch length (5 of which is insertable) and circumference of 7 and 1/2 inch, with a diameter of 2 and 3/8 inches. There are three different size levels, starting with the smallest at the top and largest as the bottom. It had no strong odor like some toys do, so that was a plus. It is solidly made, firm but has some rubbery give. These are good things too.


Being porous, rubber does not clean well. I cleaned it with soapy warm water. You can make a rubber toy last longer and keep it cleaner by using a condom over it during each use. You can use silicone or water lubricants with it. It is a well-made toy.


Yet, as said, I was disappointed. I was intrigued by the 2 and 3/8 inch diameter, loving the larger size toys. However I do not think the design is well suited to be a good "plug" as I am accustomed to "plugs" being. My experience it that plugs penetrate and stay in. However the lowest and largest tier of the plug does not, in my estimation, curve inward enough and there is not enough space between the third tier and base to allow the plug to stay inside or even get much fun from the largest tier. Lowering onto it or pushing it inside had no effect in bringing it in deeper. The base of the plug just got in the way.


I have had toys of slightly larger diameter inside and felt the full, delicious effects. However, using the Triple Ripple Royal, I was like: "Is it in yet?" If there was a slender and longer area between the base of the plug and the third tier that allowed full insertion, I think I would have enjoyed it. I was truly underwhelmed.

I still can't get into this toy. It has so much potential, but that base doesn't allow you to make full use of the juicy 2 and 3/8 inch diameter. You can't get the full girth of it inside. It sort of leaves you "blue-balled" - almost but not quite there.
