Orbite Pleasures is not for the beginner

This plug is not one for beginners, but moderate to advanced users who are looking for a comfortable plug might like this inexpensive, flexible option. It's not made of the best material, but as long as you don't plan on sharing it's going to make most people happy with their purchase.

Pros
Smooth, pretty, soft base, suction cup, small, good for long-term wear.

Use

The Orbite Pleasures is a fairly small, soft toy. It's made by New Sensations Novelties, and is one of several products from them that are being introduced to Eden. While quite a few are meant for kegel workouts and vaginal insertion, this one is meant for anal play.

This plug is intended to be inserted anally and left alone. It's not meant to be used for thrusting though, if you have a very shallow prostate, it could be used for p-spot stimulation. This would work especially well if you're rocking back and forth on the base while it is inside of you.

Because of the flared base, this toy is safe to let go of and leave inside for prolonged periods of time. While it has been debated whether or not plugs of this nature are good for long term wear, as long as air can escape out of the sides of the base it should be fine.

You can wear this during penetration for a 'double penetration' feel, or a man could wear it when penetrating someone else. If you're wearing this while having vaginal sex it will require a little bit of care, because the moderately firm material could accidentally injure you or your partner.

This toy CAN be used vaginally, but it's uncomfortable and awkward. The base makes it hard to insert far enough to feel any pleasure, and the shape makes it nearly impossible to thrust with comfortably. In all, this is really best for anal insertion.

If you're looking for a first plug, be you a man or a woman, this is not the best place to start. The blunt shape and wide girth make this more than intimidating so, unless you're very used to anal sex or you've worked your way up from a smaller plug, this is really best left to the experienced.

Because this toy has no motor it can be used anywhere. It's good to use in public, in the bath, on a bed, or to travel with. It's not going to wake up your roommate, especially because this isn't exactly a toy that is meant to have you moaning.

Material / Texture

The Orbite Pleasures is made of TPE. It does look pretty and resemble glass, but as soon as you touch it you can tell that it's a rubber product.

Eden lists this product as TPE, but the box that the toy comes in states that it is made of jelly AND states that it's made out of TPE. After contacting NS Novelties it's been revealed that this is, indeed, made of TPE. TPE is rated a 6 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale and is slightly porous. It's body safe and pthalate free, and is just a bit less hygienic than plastic. This material can not be disinfected or shared with others without risking infection.

There is a slight bit of drag to this toy, but it's not exactly tacky. It's certainly a toy that will need lube, especially because it's intended to be used anally. Any type of lubricant should be safe to use with TPE, but it's always better to be safe and do a spot test before going to town with it.

It's entirely smooth, which makes it easy to lube up and aids with insertion. There is a slight visual seam in the toy, but it's not able to be felt at all. In all, it's entirely basic as far as texture goes.

The material is flexible at the base, but it gets firmer at the tip. The widest part of the bulb has little give to it at all, which makes it harder to insert if you're not used to the size. The flexible base does make it more comfortable for long term wear.

In all, TPE is a fairly safe material that is smooth and flexible. It's good for anyone who doesn't want to switch users, which you can't do because you can not fully sanitize this material.

Design / Shape / Size

The Orbite Pleasures is a small, round plug. Several people have commented that it looked like a door knob, which is actually pretty accurate. It's more similar in size to the doorknob of a child's playhouse, but it looks like one nonetheless.

The business end of this toy is almost a perfect sphere. It's very blunt, especially if you're not used to anal insertion, and so it can be hard to work up to using. If you're used to anal play it may be easier to get this in, but a smaller toy may still be needed to warm up and get yourself ready.

The widest point of this plug, about 3/4 of an inch from the tip, measures in at 4.5 inches around. This is fairly large for a toy that is this shape, but is still similar in girth to an 'average' penis. After the widest point it quickly tapers down to the thin, slightly flexible neck.

The neck is wide enough that it keeps your anus fairly open, but it's thin enough that the plug won't slip out accidentally. It is not very long, which makes this toy a bad choice if you're looking for something to thrust with. The design makes it best to just leave inside of you once you get it in.

At 2 inches across, the base is certainly wide enough to make it anal safe. The base is also flexible, which makes it good for long term wear because it's not going to dig into your skin like a firmer material would.

Overall, this plug is a moderate size. What would be a good beginner plug is made for more advanced users by the blunt tip and large girth.

Performance

Performance wise, this toy is very simple. It has no motors or moving parts, just is a large hunk of TPE/Jelly. It is intended to be used as an anal plug, though it could potentially be used to stimulate the prostate if you have a low, easy to reach one. It's not a good shape at all for vaginal insertion.

While it is technically harness compatible, the shape makes it a bit impractical. Not only is it a bad shape to thrust with once it is inserted, it's also so short that you may not be able to insert it anally at all when it's in a harness.

It does have a suction cup base, but the reasoning behind this being useless is the same. It's hard to insert, and not intended for thrusting, so the suction cup base will not be as useful as it would be on a longer toy.

In all, this toy is very basic and easy to use, though it's not as versatile as some. The round shape and thin neck make it hard to thrust with, and that makes it a bit silly to try to use it in a harness or suction cupped to anything.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is easy to clean and easy enough to care for. It's a bit of a lint magnet, which isn't the best for easy storage, but it doesn't attract every cat hair within a square mile, either. If you're careful and keep it in a lint-free place you can get away with just washing it after every use, but otherwise you'll have to wash it both before and after.

There are no hard to clean spots on this toy, which is great. You can easily just rinse it with soap and water, an antibacterial toy cleaner, or a toy wipe. The material is porous so you can not fully disinfect it, and this means that it can not be shared between partners unless you use a condom on it.

This is best stored out of contact with other toys, especially if they're silicone based materials. It's better to be safe than sorry, and occasionally toys can react with each other and leave you sad. All types of lubricants are fine to use with this toy.

Packaging

The Orbite Pleasures comes in a small, white and blue colored box. It's a bit smaller than other NS Novelties toys that are on EdenFantasys, but it's still classy enough to give as a gift if that's what your intentions are.

On the front of the box is a small window where you can see the toy. It's also got a small logo for the brand above it that reads "nsnovelties." It has a blue hang tag for retail sale, but it's pretty much useless for the consumer.

On the back is a full size image of the Orbite Pleasures, along with the name. The name looks classy and professional, and most of the front of the box is in white and gray. It's very clean looking, something that is important if you're advertising a sex toy.

On the side is a small blurb about what it is, the material, and the measurements. There are no additional instructions, but none are needed.

Experience

I accepted this plug for a DR review because it looked small, cute, and worth a try. I also will rarely turn down the chance to try something new, especially when it's a bit of a 'surprise' assignment. I was a bit disappointed in my lack of forethought.

While this is a neat product, I could not use it at all. I had taken for granted that most plugs are shaped in a tapered fashion. While this toy is 'average' in girth, the bluntness makes it a feat to insert. More advanced users than I might do it with ease, but if you're a beginner I'd look at some plugs with a smaller tip.

Overall, this is a 4 star toy. I docked a star because of the bad material, as well as the shape that's going to be bad for more people than it will be good for. In all it's going to be worth it for some, but others will end up reaching for their old favorites instead of this one.

I wouldn't have thought that the shape would be an issue either until I read this. Nice review

I looked at the product photo and would have sworn this was glass. Good thing I read your review! I can imagine that shape would be hard to insert. Great review!

Thanks for the great review, not a fan of the material, I thought it was glass at first...

I have to say it looks pretty big for insertion without major warm up. No tapered end.

Great review and video on this! I can see where you're coming from on this plug, I had the same misconceptions that you did. Oh well, it's an interesting little toy nonetheless.

Excellent review, I'm with everyone else I thought this was glass. There's no way I could insert this odd shape either.

Great review! I was thinking this would be a little more solid. Definantly wouldn't be able to use this.

An appealing shape visually, for sure... but totally not usable. It kind of looks like your avatar Ryuson!
