Perfectly Small, Perfectly Lusty
The plug of lust is a wonderful toy for a true beginner. Anyone with a lot of experience might not get as much from it, but for me it gave me just enough stimulation and sensation without feeling uncomfortable. I was in the market for a plug for a true anal beginner. I had found that some would say beginner and then when I'd look at their size they seemed too large for me. The last thing that I wanted was to get a new toy and then find out that I wasn't able to use it. The Plug of Lust by Orion really caught my eye. I liked that the reviews always stated how small it really is, and I like that it's made out of silicone, easy to clean, able to be sterilized and a nice smooth but pliable material. The plug of lust sounded like my perfect starter and when I received my plug of lust I was absolutely sure I made the right choice.
It is perfectly small. It looks almost like a pacifier, only a bit larger and more rounded. The nice thing was that I was not intimidated by the plug of lust. It's not much wider then one of my fingers at its largest part and probably about the size of one of my husband's. It's also no longer then my pinky. The tip is tapered, so insertion is easy after just a bit of lube to both myself and the plug of lust (water based only since it's silicone). I also appreciated that after the widest part it then tapers back down; so while it gives you a full feeling, it doesn't make you feel overly stretched.
I could definitely feel the plug when using it though and it gave me a good sensation without making me feel overly awkward or uncomfortable. I think my only discomfort came from it being a new sensation, but when I allowed myself to relax I was able to enjoy it more. In this sense I liked using a plug better then a probe because once it's in place I can just allow it to be there and enjoy the fullness without any added stimulation to the area. As a beginner sometimes this is all I want. Whether I'll quickly outgrow it, I don't know. But for now it's perfect for me and for its price I'm not concerned that I'd ever feel it wasn't worth it.
I have used my plug of lust both solo, while using a vibe, and also during partner sex to get an almost double penetration type feel. It gave just enough extra sensation for me. The only thing that I'd change about this toy is that I would have preferred the base to be flat so that it wasn't so much…in the way. It's nice for ease of removal, but I think it looks kind of silly and limits when/where you can use the toy. I would like to be able to wear a plug under my clothes to help myself get more used to the sensation but with the ring on the plug of lust I didn't feel comfortable like that.

I don't want to say that I don't like it anymore, since that kind of makes me feel like it's not a good toy. And it is. I just have found that it's a bit too small, although it does make a wonderful "first time" toy for those who are curious about anal play. So, if you're curious and want something small and not intimidating, give the Plug of Lust a try. But, be aware that you'll likely outgrow this plug rather quickly.

I am completely new to anal play. Well, at least I am almost completely new: I have been attempting to get started for a couple of weeks now since my husband has expressed interest in trying anal sex.
Sadly, however, I have had a difficult time using what many reviewers have deemed as the perfect beginner's butt plug. It seems as though I need something even smaller than the following, all of which I have tried and find either very difficult to insert and/or too uncomfortable to wear for even a short period of time (and, yes, I do use a thick anal lube and try to insert gently and slowly):
Tantus Little Flirt (seems too long for my comfort)
Tantus Ripple (the last bead is too thick in diameter and it also is too long for me to fully insert comfortably)
FunFactory Bootie (the bulged head makes it very painful to insert, even going slowly and gently, and I find it too filling to wear comfortably for long, once it is in)
I am very sad that I am not "progressing" in anal play. Are there any smaller butt plugs out there to help me ease into using -- and hopefully even enjoying -- my *beginner* plugs so that I can eventually work up to trying anal sex?
Ironically, my husband has also just started to experiment with anal play to massage his prostate and he has even been able to use our Nexus G-rider with no problem. I don't understand why I am still stuck at the *pre-beginner* stage!

At that price, the Plug of Lust is tough to beat. If price is not an object, then I might go for the Fun Factory Bootie instead because I think the base is better for long term wear. Another consideration if price were no object would be the Bob pleasure object.

I totally agree. I just used this for the first time. Probably while you were writing this review lol. Since it is so small that looped end does no good since trusting isn't a lot of fun. They should just lop that off lol.
Exactly, the only good it does is retrieval but if they made a base that layed flat and went out on the end then I think it'd work just as well while not getting in the way, and frankly I just felt silly with a ring sticking out LOL

Good review, Alicia! I, personally, like the little ring. IMO, it makes the toy "cute" (not something I look for in a sex toy, but still) and the ring can be used to place a bullet vibe for perfect anal vibrations. Also, My Man has large hands and the ring is easier for him to remove and manipulate the toy without fumbling.
I'm sorry you didn't like the ring. I do think it would be an impediment to people who want to wear the toy long term or want to sit down while wearing it.
