"Plug Der Lust" proves good, satisfying things come in small packages

This little butt plug is just right for the beginner, or those who like a subtle "full" feeling anally, without too much stretch. The silicone is perfect for butt play, easy to clean and safe. The ring is great for a small chain or leather thong, or use with a bullet vibe. The ring is also very useful for removing and re-inserting the plug, for those who like the feeling of repeated insertion. A great little toy for every toy box, and every butt that desires a smaller, tear drop shaped toy.

Use

This plug is described as a beginner's plug, due to the size. But, some of us prefer a smaller toy for play, even if we have some experience with anal toys and anal play.

This plug can be used anally during foreplay, during oral sex, manual stimulation, during PIV intercourse, during masturbation, or as a precursor to anal sex.

The base seems flared enough to not cause any anxiety about "losing the plug" for most people. It has a small tapered tip, to ease insertion, and a nice tear drop shape, for perfect sensation. The toy is 100% silicone, one of the safest materials for any sex toy.

The "Plug of Lust" size small may not be the best toy for long term wear, as it has a small ring for removal attached to the flared base. Some who like to wear a butt plug for extended wear may find the "ring" or handle gets in the way when they put on clothes or try to sit down.

It is a very compact toy with a delightful texture. It warms to body temperature quickly and feels very comfortable, yet fun to wear as well.

I doubt this toy is large enough to stimulate a man's P Spot, however. As I don't have a prostate, and My Man doesn't enjoy anal toys used on himself, we didn't get to find out for sure. It looks a little small to reach the P Spot for most men, I would think, though.

Material / Texture

This plug is a nice, soft, firm, yet slightly squishy silicone. It is completely odorless and tasteless, as silicone should be. As silicone is utterly non-porous, it is the perfect material for those who enjoy smoother anal toys. This toy is a great material and texture for both advanced users and beginners. My one and only issue with this plug is the color, white. Although I have no problems with detritus being left on butt plugs, everyone's digestive system is different and some may prefer a darker color. Although if detritus IS left on one's plug, this light color would make it easier to see and clean.

As it is silicone, there should be no problem with staining at all.

The size and shape make insertion comfortable although those who enjoy intense anal stimulation may decide to get The Plug of Lust in a larger size. If the plug is held by the flange, insertion is easy and should be easy to do for just about anyone. Of course, as always with anal toys, lubricant is a must. Water based lube is best with toys such as this one, made of silicone.

Design / Shape / Size

I like the design of this little plug. I wanted something rather teardrop shaped, as an alternative to our more pointed Crystal Cote Plug, and this little plug was just the thing for my needs. I think most people who are either newer to anal play, or who do not want an intense anal experience with a toy, and are looking for intermediate or beginning sensations would be quite happy with both the size and shape of this toy.

It isn't a probe, just a small plug, with a nice little round handle behind the well placed and useful nicely flared based. A ribbon, length of leather, or chain can be inserted into the small handle for more safety (although the base is quite generous and works well) and added security, and can be added as a touch of one's one personality. More about how I personalized mine later.

Also, the hole in the handle is malleable and just the right size for a bullet vibrator to be inserted. This could amp up the Play of this toy quite a bit, and the handle is just perfect for this use, as well as to attach a "tail" if one desires.

Performance

This toy is perfect for some added stimulation during sex, before anal penetration, or during masturbation. It is suitable for all genders and users. Those who require a more intense experience may want the larger size or can "amp it up" with a vibrator bullet, as I mentioned before.

We don't use harnesses and I don't know if it is harness compatible. It is on the small side and seems to be more suited to those who enjoy a hand inserted plug.

The little round handle made it easy for us to hold on to the plug while playing. It was comfortable and gave just enough stimulation for our needs. The ring handle can also by manipulated by either oneself or one's partner for more stimulation.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is silicone. The toy has NO seams or small bumps or ridges, aside from the flange, or much that would cause difficulty with cleaning. When taken out of the package, it was washed with Cal Exotics Toy Wash, which was left on for a full minute. Then soap and hot water were used to wash and rinse the toy twice. After use, the same procedure was used. It should probably be stored away from other silicone toys, although it appears to be high quality silicone. I store ours in a small velvet bag, inside a Sugar Sak, which also houses a large silicone phallic vibrator and a few other toys of varying materials. I usually keep the two silicone toys separate, by putting the Plug in a small velvet bag, which jewelry came in, and partially wrapping the Vibrator in a men's handkerchief inside the Sugar Sak.

I would only use water based lubricant with this toy. We used a small drop of Astroglide Anal Shooters lube. It worked very nicely, adding just enough lube, while still leaving some feeling.

All in all, it is easy to use, easy to clean, easy to insert and simple to store.

Packaging

The plug came in a plastic three piece clear plastic display package. There was a picture of a nude woman on the front, and the plug was shown with a gold chain through the small round handle. The chain was not included with the plug and was meant to show "suggestions" on how to use the toy. There were no instructions on the package, aside from "Perfect anal plug, with tapered sensitive tip, and receiving ring." and the color and size, in several languages, and "The Restrainer for Your Tight Lust Chamber" first in German, and then in English on the front of the package. As many men enjoy butt plugs as well, we found the nearly ubiquitous nude woman on the package unnecessary and a little irritating.

The name of this toy, evidently in German is "Plug Der Lust" (which we found entertaining) meaning, of course, Plug of Lust in English.

The packaging is not much help for storage, the package was meant to be hung on a display and I prefer my own little velvet bag for storage, as I mentioned.

If you wanted to give the Plug Der Lust as a gift, the packaging would be fine to use for that purpose.

There were no indications of what kind of plastic the package was made of, so I don't know if it is recyclable or not.

Personal comments

This is a cute little plug and just the right size and texture for what I wanted. When I took it out of the package, between the look of the toy and the texture of the material, I wanted to pop the toy in my mouth. This is not a common reaction for me, but the toy looks like a large pacifier, and my oral baby pacifier was cruelly yanked from me and thrown away on my first birthday, so now I have one for my ass. HA!

I did resist the urge to put the toy in my mouth when I first saw it. (Knowing where it would eventually end up.) But, I still really love the texture of it, squishing the little round handle and just handling the toy is pleasurable.

It fits anally with little trouble, is comfy and stimulating at the same time and although it seems to eventually "fall out" it was fine, because it had served it purpose by then every time we have used it. As I prefer anal toys to be removed right before orgasm, about half the time it "removes" itself and the other half My Man takes it out, when he realizes it's "time" to do this.

It is not hard to insert, feels very comfortable, yet stimulating, doesn't give TOO much stretch, just a nice, subtle full feeling, and is easy to remove when you are done with the sensation.

Experience

This toy has a nice, firm, well sized flared base, but the picture on the package has a little chain attached to the ring on the toy. I liked the way that looked. For further "security" I decided I wanted a little insurance, as well. I looked around and found a nice little gold ankle bracelet, whose rope chain was too thick for me to wear comfortably around my ankle and was getting no usage. This anklet fits on Plug Der Lust quite nicely. Oddly enough, it looks almost exactly like the chain on the package.

I may consider going up a size, but for now, we are both pleased with this little plug. My Man does not enjoy anything inserted in his anus, but he said he liked the feel and ease of insertion when he inserts it for me. The little ring "receiver" (actually "remover" is a better word) fits even his huge fingers, and the ring can be used to move the plug around and give different sensations, as well as hold a small bullet vibrator.
Follow-up commentary
I don't want to be rough on the Plug of Lust small. It's just that we have outgrown it, and in a startling way.

We have several anal toys, a few plugs and sets of beads and the occasional hard plastic or silicone dil or vibe that are used in this way that we keep in rotation for anal play to keep the play new and fresh.

The Plug of Lust was a wonderful little toy, until the other night; My Man was using it on me, and it felt really in in a different way. I reached back and realized that without knowing he had done it, somehow he had pushed the entire plug into me past the once safe flare base! Luckily, not only had I attached a small jewelry chain to the plug, but I could feel the end of the loop and I grabbed it and pulled it out safely. I'm not going to say it didn't feel great popping out, but I am going to say that perhaps the intensity of our play has gone beyond the limits this little plug can accommodate.

I've "outgrown" vibrators before, either due to weak vibrations, smaller size or their breakage or learning more about safe materials, and we did rid ourselves of some toys, due to their Jelly materials, but this is the first time we had a near-miss in the anal play department, and I really don't want to repeat it.

This toy was safe and easy to use when we were still perhaps "beginners" in this department, and I think it is probably safe for those who are just starting out with this type of play, but the incident has caused me to simply want to retire this cute little plug.

On to......bigger and better things, I guess.

    • I am completely new to anal play. Well, at least I am almost completely new: I have been attempting to get started for a couple of weeks now since my husband has expressed interest in trying anal sex.

      Sadly, however, I have had a difficult time using what many reviewers have deemed as the perfect beginner's butt plug. It seems as though I need something even smaller than the following, all of which I have tried and find either very difficult to insert and/or too uncomfortable to wear for even a short period of time (and, yes, I do use a thick anal lube and try to insert gently and slowly):

      Tantus Little Flirt (seems too long for my comfort)

      Tantus Ripple (the last bead is too thick in diameter and it also is too long for me to fully insert comfortably)

      FunFactory Bootie (the bulged head makes it very painful to insert, even going slowly and gently, and I find it too filling to wear comfortably for long, once it is in)

      I am very sad that I am not "progressing" in anal play. Are there any smaller butt plugs out there to help me ease into using -- and hopefully even enjoying -- my *beginner* plugs so that I can eventually work up to trying anal sex?

      Ironically, my husband has also just started to experiment with anal play to massage his prostate and he has even been able to use our Nexus G-rider with no problem. I don't understand why I am still stuck at the *pre-beginner* stage!

    • At that price, the Plug of Lust is tough to beat. If price is not an object, then I might go for the Fun Factory Bootie instead because I think the base is better for long term wear. Another consideration if price were no object would be the Bob pleasure object.
