Problem prostate play

The Dr. Joel Kaplan versatile prostate stimulator is exactly that, a prostate vibrator. However, it can also be used by females for g-spot stimulation or anal play for a female. You can use this alone or with a partner but either way you or your partner has to hold it in or it will slip out. There are 10 functions to this quite vibe so there should be something for every user here.

Use

The Dr. Joel Kaplan versatile prostate stimulator is exactly what the name says it is. It is a flexible, pvc/plastic, curved vibrator that is designed to stimulate the male prostate when inserted. It is soft and flexible for anal insertion. This toy could also be used as an anal vibrator for a woman. Another use for this toy is a g-spot vibrator for her, the curve makes it great for pinpoint stimulation. This toy can be used alone or with a partner. When using alone you will have to use your hand to keep it in place, with a partner, they can hold it for you.

The size is great for beginners of anal stimulation but those more experienced may not get much out of it. It is also pretty slim for vaginal stimulation and may not do it for most women. Due to the stiffer handle/straight part this is pretty anal safe and shouldn't get pulled in all the way.

Material / Texture

The prostate massager is made of plastic and PVC. The handle and part where the controls are is made of plastic.

The insertable, flexible party of the massager is made of PVC which rates a 2 on the Eden safety scale however, the product page and packaging states that this is phthalates free and phthalates free PVC rates an 8 on the Eden safety scale so I'm not too sure exactly what the safety number really is of this toy.

Whether it is the 2 or the 8 you shouldn't share this toy unless you cover it with a condom because it is porous and can't be sterilized. This toy is also hypoallergenic and latex free.

There is a slight smell IF you literally hold it up to your nose and smell but it's more of a plastic-y smell and isn't gross or overpowering.

The PVC is very flexible and slick, there doesn't seem to be any drag with this toy but I still recommend using lubricant with it, especially if using it anally.

It has a bulged design that can be lightly be felt upon insertion. There are 5 oblong nubs on each side but they aren't really noticeable.

This toy doesn't look realistic but if left out someone would probably deduce that this is a sex toy of some sort.

Both the texture and feel of the material is good for any user.

Here is a photo to show some flexibility:

Design / Shape / Size

This toy was designed with male pleasure in mind. it has a curve much like women's g-spot toys do intended to hit the right spot upon insertion. A man can use this to stimulate his prostate or a woman could use it to stimulate her g-spot or for anal play. It looks much like the letter "J" without the top. The massager has a straight side that goes down into a curve and ends at a rounded off tip. Someone mentioned in their review that it reminds them of a scorpion tail and I agree with that description of it.

The toy is designed to be inserted up to the end of curve where the straight edge starts but it won't stay in on its own and someone has to hold it.

The size and shape is good for beginners but experienced anal users may not get much pleasure out of it. This also probably won't satisfy many women because of how slim it is; I have not tried this out vaginally.

The measurements are:
Length: 10"
Insertable length: 7 1/2"
Circumference: 2 3/4"
Diameter: 7/8"

But really, if you only insert it up to where the straight end starts, it isn't going in the whole 7 1/2".

This toy isn't realistic looking but isn't that discreet either. It is pretty travel friendly if tossing into a suitcase or overnight bag. This isn't a purse toy.

Compared to a standard highlighter:

Performance

The Dr. Joel Kaplan versatile prostate stimulator has 10 different functions so there should be something for any user here. It runs on 2 N batteries that are included. The plastic part with the button unscrews to expose the battery compartment.
The modes are:
1) High vibration
2) Medium vibration
3) Low vibration
4) Revving
5) Pulsations
6) Faster pulsations
7) Stronger fast pulsations
8) Quick pulsations
9) Steady pulsations (like 5)
10) Faster pulsations

After number 6 it just seems like some of the functions repeat, it was hard to tell if they were the same as some previous ones or perhaps slightly stronger or quicker.

To turn the toy on or off you push the top button. To cycle through the modes press the bottom button. The toy will remember the last setting it was on when turned off and when turned on again it will pick up where it left off.

The controls aren't exactly easy to use when using this toy along because they are on the handle and the back side. It is easier to choose the setting you want before inserting it and taking it out to change. But you can play around with it and push the buttons with it in, you just might turn it off by accident.

The vibrations are buzzy and deep. They are best felt in the tip of the insertable part but can be felt throughout the PVC. They can barely be felt in the plastic part of the toy. The vibrations wouldn't be enough for me vaginally but my guy said they were good for prostate stimulation.

This toy is fairly quiet and won't be detected outside of a closed door.

The curved part is ideal for p or g-spot stimulation but when using it for anal pleasure it has to be held in by the wearer or their partner. We tried using this while having sex and he was getting frustrated because it just kept popping out. He either has to hold it in or I have to strain to do it for him.

This toy is also waterproof so you can take it into the shower or bath with you but we have not used it in that way and I can't comment on that aspect of it.

Care and Maintenance

You can use any type of lubricant you want with this toy.

To clean it, you can use warm water and mild soap, toy cleaner or wipes.

If you share, use a condom because this is a porous material and can't be sterilized.

It isn't a complete lint/hair magnet but it will pick some things up so you will want to store it in a place where it will be protexted.

Experience

We really didn't know what we were doing or looking for when we chose this toy. I just looked at the measurements and suggested he get something about as slim as we could get. We haven't used this toy for quite some time because it's just a hassle holding it in and the material safety is up in the air as I mentioned earlier.
We have since purchased a different prostate toy made of silicone with better ratings.
I'd rate this one higher but the confusion with the safety of the material docked a point as well as it not staying in.
Follow-up commentary
This just wasn't what either of us was expecting. We aren't into the whole scene of me using a toy to penetrate him so there really isn't any use of it to him as he doesn't use anal toys for masturbation and sticks mainly to the one Fleshlight. It will more than likely make it into the garbage when we clean out the drawer.

Thanks for the review. I'm also curious what exactly the material is. There's a big difference between 2 & 8.

My philosophy is to go with the more conservative (lower) safety rating, so this toy would rate a 2 in my book. Particularly since it is the insertable portion that is PVC which is 2. Condom use is preferred as Zombirella says. Thanks for the great review.
