Pure plug medium - anal toy by Njoy - review by Miss Morphine

This beautiful steel plug is quite comfortable. I've owned it for more than a year and purchased it after enjoying and quickly outgrowing its smaller sibling. The plug clocks in a 4" circumference. It may not be the best for someone entirely new to anal play, but I quickly outgrew the small and wished I had started with the medium. It's not super large; a little extra warm up with fingers, plenty of lube, etc wouldn't make it too much extra work for a novice. Also, since I grew out of the small I have moved up to larger things for other play, but the size and handle end make this plug comfortable enough for extended daily wear.

This plug is medical grade stainless steel; it's firm and has no give. It has no smell or taste and is nonporous. Consequently, it is ridiculously easy to care for and clean, etc. I typically wash it with soap and water at the end of days on which it is used.

This beauty is perfectly smooth and has a mirror finish. The smooth texture and lovely tapered end makes it a breeze to insert with a minimal amount of lube. Don't be stingy with the lube if you require more, but I use about a dime size amount for inserting the medium.

The pure plug is damn chilly right out of the box and holds heat well if you choose to warm it up. Typically, I choose to warm it up by cupping it against my skin for a bit prior to applying lube and inserting it. Its temperature retention makes it excellent for those interested in temperature play. My partner has used it on me for this purpose before. It holds either frosty or extra warm temperatures for about 30 minutes to an hour.

Lastly, steel has no give. This might be a deterrent to those used to squishier plugs or those that think a less firm toy is more manageable to beginners. As a beginner I had difficulty inserting less firm toys (and sometimes still do) and appreciate its firmness. It may not be for everyone, but I think it aids in the ease of insertion and overall comfort.

The medium pure plug has a wonderful tapered head and a slightly elongated rather than a perfect spade shape. In my experience with various plugs, this shape reduces tension upon insertion and makes the insertion process much easier. My body is not generally a fan of the more traditional spade shape. It's one of the most comfortable plugs I've ever used and it feels really good too.

The curved end that tapers from the head is quite aesthetically pleasing, but it also makes the plug very comfortable to wear. I find that it is comfortable to wear with the head pointed up or down. However, the handle fits better between the cheeks of my relatively flat bum better when I wear it with the head pointed up.

This plug, with it's gorgeous compact curves, fits within the palm of my hand. This makes it easy to bring along for travel and I often do just that. I keep it in its original box at home, but for travel I put it in a soft, fleecy storage bag and pack it in my toiletry bag or one of the smaller zippy compartments of my laptop bag. Its larger siblings are a little too bulky (for my liking) for this kind of easy travel. For a longer, or more luggage involved trip I might pack it along in its beautiful little box, but I like my current system.

The medium pure plug is compact, but packs a very pleasurable punch. I have owned it for more than a year and with frequent use (4-6 days/week), cleaning, and usually careful storage in the original box, it still looks as good as new and has no scratches or damage that I can see.

I use it in preparation for larger plugs or penetration with larger toys or anal sex. It works well for those purposes. Many days I also wear it just because it feels good, is comfortable, not too large, and I want to wander about with a fun toy inserted.

I can wear this comfortably on it's own for hours, but it has proven difficult to use during double penetration. A toy or penis will fit comfortably in my vagina while this is inserted in my rectum. However, once any sort of thrusting motion commences it pops out in relatively short order. There isn't any pain or discomfort; I just can't get it to stay in for very long.

The boy and I still use this during partner play/sex, just not sex that involves double penetration. When used in conjunction with a vibe on my clit my orgasms are quite intense and I foresee loving this toy for a long time.

In the care and feeding section of the pamphlet, Njoy recommends using soap and water for regular cleaning unless you intend to share the toy with another person. In which case, you should boil it or use a mild bleach solution (followed by a thorough water rinse) to make sure the all the microbes are good and dead. Cleaning of any method should be followed by drying and polishing with a soft cloth.

The plug is compatible with all lubes. I prefer water based for easy clean up, but any body safe lube that you like will do.

Storage is even easier than cleaning. Njoy provides a beautiful, hard sided, satin-lined box. It looks lovely on my night stand and protects the toy. I also have a fleecy drawstring bag that I use for storage when I travel. It's less durable than the box, but it has protected it from scratches, which is the goal. With a minimal amount of maintenance this plug will last a lifetime or more. In fact, the process of buffing/polishing it post-cleaning very much mirrors the process of polishing fine silver heirloom pieces.
