Ass-berries Raspberry - anal toy by Rocks Off Ltd. - review by Sammi

I typically don’t go for “realistic” looking toys. Give me color and give me texture. Even if a toy has a realistic shape, I like it better when it’s blue, pink, or purple. The Ass-Berries #1 from Rocks Off, Ltd. fit this bill perfectly.

This toy comes packaged in a clear plastic hexagon with purple top and bottom. The packaging has several slogans and information all over, including “Feeling fruity?” This Ass Berry is a raspberry, so it’s dark pink in color. It looks really cute, and really large in the packaging. I would categorize this as a bullet sleeve. I half expected it to have a raspberry scent when I removed it from the case, but it was odorless.

The Ass-Berry is about 4 1/4” long with the bullet inserted. The bullet sticks out about 1/2" outside of the base. The berry can be inserted approximately 2 1/4”, and at its widest is approximately 1 1/2”. The berry end looks like an extra large raspberry, covered with the fruit’s bumps. There is a seam visible around the sleeve, but it’s not very raised, and cannot be felt when inserted. The sleeve then tapers down and flares out for a base. The bullet is easily removed, and it inserts almost all of the way into the sleeve, allowing for vibration up and down the entire berry. When the bullet is removed, the Ass-Berry is quite flexible.

The Ass-Berry is made of Intramed, a thermoplastic material developed by Rocks Off. It is a medical grade material, environmentally friendly (it is recyclable) and hypo-allergenic. Intramed is similar to silicone in that it is non-porous, odorless, and phthalate-free. Intramed can be washed with warm water and antibacterial soap, or sterilized with a 10% bleach solution. I could find no information about boiling it or putting it in the dishwasher, so I wouldn’t advise cleaning it that way. All lubricants except oil can be used with Intramed products.

The Ass-Berry includes the “award winning” RO-80mm bullet vibrator. The award is for the “Best Product of the Year” prize in 2008 at the Erotic Trade Only Awards (UK). It certainly deserved it! The bullet looks like a real bullet with its tapered tip. The one that comes with the raspberry Ass Berry is purple, with a silver base and a purple on/off button at the bottom. The bullet is 3 1/4” long, with a diameter of a little over 1/2”. It’s made of plastic, and is rigid. It can be submersed in water, and is phthalates-free and latex-free. The bullet only has one speed, and it is quite powerful.

The bullet uses a LR1 1.5 volt battery, which is included. The base of the bullet unscrews to replace the battery inside. While the battery is easy enough to insert, I had a terrible time getting it out of the bullet. It took several thumps in my hand to finally drop the battery down far enough so my fingers could grab it. Getting the battery out didn’t improve after several attempts of removing and reinserting it, but the battery life seems pretty long, and I am willing to overlook this as I can get it out eventually.

The RO-80mm is waterproof and submersible, so the Ass-Berry can be played with in the shower or tub with the bullet in or with it out.

I can’t take 1 1/2” wide items in my ass with no preparation, so we started with a small silk dildo (about 1” diameter) and worked up to a medium silk dildo (about 1 1/4” wide) before attempting the Ass Berry with a lot of lubricant. The Ass Berry felt strange going in, as I could feel every berry bump on the raspberry as my husband eased it in my ass.
Since this is a short toy, he was able to get it all the way in to the base without too much trouble. It felt strange, but not unpleasant.

My husband then pressed the button and the Ass Berry vibrated to life. I could feel the vibrations all along the berry sleeve, and they were pretty strong. We really couldn't hear the bullet much.

This toy is meant to act like a plug and not a dildo, so we just left it in place and added a clit vibrator. It didn’t take me long, with the vibrations in two places, to cum. Afterward, the Ass-Berry was easy to remove, and I didn’t feel the bumps on it as much as I did on insertion. The Ass-Berry didn't feel as strange to me on subsequent uses.

We tried this bullet out on some other toys we have that use removable bullets, and it was great. The bullet is wide enough to fit well in the bases of our other toys, and it was easy to insert and remove, in part due to its tapered tip.

The Ass Berry was like getting three toys in one – a removable, powerful bullet, a plug, and a vibrating plug. Lots of good fun, and recommended!

This has been a fun and well-used toy in our collection. Lately I've been all about hands-free vibrators, and this one delivers. The bumps add something interesting to insertion. Overall I think I prefer smooth anal toys, but this is a fun one to use.

The sleeve has held up well, with no damage or change due to use or cleaning.

The bullet has made its way into several of my other toys at times, and it is a great bullet. The battery is still difficult to remove, but will come out, and has decent life in the toy. I got replacements from Amazon (I'm an Amazon shop junkie), but they are probably available at other places like Wal-mart and Radio Shack as well.
