Rhapsodia: a free composition for musical presentation

This anal or vaginal tool from Close2You is an amazing piece, especially for this price. I should start off by saying this is not for beginners, or even some intermediate users. If you don't like firm things up your bum, look elsewhere. It takes a bit of patience to use this wonderful anal probe, but it is well worth it. The packaging and goodies included make this toy even that much more worth it. Unfortunately, this toy is not made of a material that can be sterilized. I prefer this for my anal toys, but I will settle for the still safe material. The design can be used for vaginal play as well, just use a condom in between uses. The most unique part of this toy is the vibrating balls inside of each ball. How fun?! If I only I could feel them more...

Material / Texture

I prefer my anal toys to be made of silicone if possible. Unfortunately, the Rhapsodia is not. It is made of non-porous materials, though. I have made my piece with this. It is made of TPR and ABS plastic. The construction base is made of plastic which is covered in the TPR. This toy is very firm. I was not expecting that to this extreme. The TPR actually feels a lot like silicone. The only place the plastic peaks through is on the balls. There is a "2:" imprinted in each one. This creates a bit of "rough road" texture which I don't particularity care for. The rest of the product is smooth with a slight matte feel to it.

While these materials are non-porous, they cannot be sterilized. I would suggest using a condom if you are sharing or going to be using this both anally and vaginally.

Design / Shape / Size

The Rhapsodia has an interesting design made for either vaginal or anal stimulation. At first glance they look like anal beads. There are three slightly oval balls of increasing size which are attached to each other and then end with a long, slender retrieval handle. The balls also have balls inside them that roll around freely. This causes a rumbly vibration feeling at times.

The first ball is about the size of a large grape or black olive. It is about 1 1/4" long and a little over 3" around. A user of an experience level should be able to take this ball in with no problem.

The second ball is about the size of a shelled walnut or jumbo black olive. It is about 1 1/2" long and about 4" in circumference. This bulb should also be able ti be inserted by most users without much difficulty.

The last ball is much larger. It's about the size of a small apricot. It is about 1 3/4" long and is over 4 1/2" around. This bead is the challenge for me. It takes a bit of time to insert compared the others.

In between each bead is a small amount of flexible TPR material. It allows the beads to bend a bit and flex until they hit the bead above it. The handle portion is almost 4" long. The end of it is shaped like a heart and serves as a pull point between your fore finger, middle, and thumb. This handle is very flexible but does not stretch like a rubber band. I hate when that makes it harder to retrieve a toy.

The color is very pretty! I have the violetta version which is a deep violet purple color. It also comes in black. This design is not the most discreet. It still looks like a string of anal beads, but you might be able to get away with saying it is a cat toy beause of the inner balls, that is...if you even have a cat.

Performance

To use this tool anally or vaginally, but especially anally, you will need lubricant. Since I bought this is an anal tool, I used it that way first. I was surprised that the material seemed to not need a lot of lubricant. I chose a silicone lubricant and only needed a few drops to coat the toy.

ANALLY:

After externally arousing myself, I was ready to insert the toy. With softer toys, I don't feel external stimulation is necessary, but with hard ones, I do it as a precaution and prevention against possible pain simply due to the firm nature. The first and second beads popped in easily. I thought the bending would be hard to work with, but actually it did not cause any difficulties during insertion. At first, I did not think the third bulb was going to make it in on my first time, but actually, it did. It felt amazing once they were all inside of me. I tried to push on the handle, but it did not really bring the beads much further inside of me. The handle sticks way out which does not make it great for wearing outside of the bedroom. I supposed you could tuck it up if you really wanted to though.

Because the last bead is so large, this toy was not used to thrust in and out. I did, however, enjoy tugging on the end to relax and tighten my sphincter muscles. The long handle came in handy for this. I stood up to see if I could feel the balls rolling around. The sensation was very slight, still interesting though! I was unable to orgasm anally from these, they did enhance the clitoral orgasm I had with my Siri.

At first, I was a bit scared to remove them. Normally, after I orgasm, my anal muscles relax. In this case, that did not happen. I had to wait about a minute and then slowly pull them out one by one. Normally, I like to do this during orgasm, but they were too tight in me. They still felt good coming out after and there was no mess. I would be totally comfortable using this with a partner.

VAGINALLY:

On a seperate occassion, I used these vaginally. It is a bit difficult to keep a condom on these by the way! Inserting them felt awesome! Pulling them out feels even better. I've never used a design like this vaginally, and I have to say that it is a fun and unique sensation. I can feel the rumbling better when using these vaginally, but it does not really add much. To thrust this you have to hold the toy very close to the last bead. The handle is not thick enough to facilitate thrusting. It was fun, but also did not get me off. At times, t felt like the last bead teased my g-spot, but the sensation was not constant. I really want to try double pentration with these!
    • Discreet sound

Care and Maintenance

Thee Rhapsodia comes with a cleaning cloth. You can use this to clean the toy before your first use. Afterward, clean with hot water and a mild soap or anti-bacterial toy cleaner. It is especially important to clean the toy after anal use. Since the material cannot be sterilized, sharing may require the use of a condom. It is not really hard to clean, but pay extra attention to the raised "2:" designs on the balls.

The TPR and plastic are compatible with oil, water, and silicone based lubricants! I recommend silicone for anal use. To store, place this lovely toy back in its original package.

Packaging

I really love Close2You's packaging. It is discreet, gorgeous, and great for gift giving. The toy comes in a sturdy white box. The top has a subtle picture of a couple in faint gray shades. The woman in holding the Rhapsodia and it is highlighted in purple. The top opens (it has magnets keeping it closed) to show the Rhapsodia displayed through a plastic pane.

To get the toy, you pull out the first of two drawers below that. They are labeled Rhapsodia and Accessori (accessories). The drawers pull out so you can get the goodies inside. The first has the toy nestled in a shaped foam and the second has a whole bunch of freebies.

Included are:
1. A perfectly fitted, purple, velvet pouch to put the toy in for travel or if you find the box too large and want to throw that out.

2. One sample toy cleaner wipe by Close2you. It has an expiration date. Mine says 6/2011. It's probably best to just use it before your first use.

3. A .25 oz sample tube of water based Glissando lubricant by Close2you. This lubricant has an expiration date of 4/2012. It has a slight bitter taste and citrus smell. It works well for the toy (but I still recommend silicone based instead) and mimics natural lubrication.

4. A simple, purple silicone cock ring/band by Close2you. It is named the violetta.

5. A booklet in at least 10 different languages that describes the different toys offered by the company as well as care and use instructions. Like this toy? Choose another to try next!

On the side of the box, it is just white with a very small shape of the toy, the name and color (Rhapsodia-Violetta), and the company logo. Although not as book shaped as other toys from this company, the box would still blend into a book shelf. You can create your own organized catalog of Close2You toys.

You can also lay the box down and open the drawers normally. If you are creative and want to make it even more discreet, you could decoupage the outside or even use the box for something other than your toy.
    • Discreet looking packaging

Follow-up commentary
While I still like this toy, I don't use it as much because it takes more warm up and time to put in and take out than most of my toys. It is good for sessions where I have a lot of time and want to take it slow, but usually when I do things solo, it is for quick release. This isn't really a toy I would use with my partner due to having to insert it and take it out myself.
