The Ryder is a very popular intermediate sized anal plug that really excited me from the first time I used it. I had read so much about the Ryder that I just had to order it. It is no coincidence that over fifty reviews, mostly positive, have been written about this plug.

As someone who has had some experience with anal play, inserting a plug the size of the Ryder was no problem. For me, it gave a nice stretch and just popped right into place. For someone with limited anal experience, the Ryder is large enough that they should use a smaller plug or at least warm up with two fingers first. I wouldn't necessarily discourage a beginner from trying the Ryder because I think it is so well designed. With some patience, it is easy enough to get used to and the fact that it is good for stretching the anal muscles would actually make it a good choice for many beginners.

Once in place the Ryder fits perfectly and feels fantastic. It is ideal for long term wear, stimulates the prostrate and heightens orgasm. The shape and size of the Ryder beckoned me to try some in and out thrusting which I loved the feel of. During masturbation, the Ryder filled my butt more than adequately and stayed securely in place leaving my hands free for other things and my mind clear of any distractions from feeling like it might come out.

While I do really like the Ryder, it does have a couple of drawbacks. First is the Ryder's base. It is the right size to fit comfortably between the cheeks and would be long enough to keep it from accidentally slipping inside except that it is too thin and flexible. Although I have not experienced this problem myself, I read in a few places that other people have had trouble with the base folding and slipping inside. The only other criticism I have is that the blunt tip which can make penetrating a well lubed butt a bit of a challenge, but at the same time can be sort of fun too.

The Ryder is made of high quality silicone which is smooth, soft and flexible. In the meantime, the Ryder is firm enough to support penetration even with its blunt shape. The Ryder's surface is slick and seamless allowing it to easily slip through the anal opening without requiring a lot of lubrication. Once in place, the Ryder's smooth surface stimulates the many nerve endings in the rectum sending exhilarating sensations through your body with each movement.

After being removed from its package and before the first use, the Ryder had a faint plastic smell to it, but after a wash off with anti-bacterial soap this went away. The Ryder has a terrific design that is stimulating and filling. This design makes the Ryder easy to retain for long term wear while it remains comfortable for hours. As a reference, just imagine the first 2 ¾ inches of an average sized penis.

The Ryder's main body narrows down to a neck which is about 5/8 of an inch wide and 7/8 of an inch long. The difference in the diameter of the neck as opposed to the body keeps the Ryder securely in place as the wearer moves around. Finally, The Ryder opens out to a base which is about 2 3/8 inches long, 1 1/8 inches wide and about 1/4 of an inch thick. The Ryder’s base is small enough that it is hidden between the cheeks and can be discreetly worn even without clothing.

The fact that this base is just 1/8 inch thick is what creates the potential problem with the Ryder slipping all the way in. Since I so love the Ryder and its fantastic feel but am concerned about it slipping in, I thought about using a piece of sturdy string to wrap around the bottom of the neck where it meets the base as a safety precaution. However, after having the Ryder for several weeks I don’t feel that is necessary for me. It could be that the Ryder just isn’t a good choice for someone who has stretched their anal muscles beyond a certain point.

Once pointed in the right direction, the Ryder slides comfortably into place, providing a nice intermediate stretch along the way. As the Ryder is very smooth and flexible, it moves with the body creating exhilarating anal stimulation. The Ryder is the first plug in the intermediate size range that I have used for long term wear because it remains comfortable and stays securely in place.

In addition to being good for long term wear' the Ryder's smooth surface and shape naturally invite the user to try some thrusting play. Although not a dildo, the Ryder worked well for this provided short strokes. The first time I tried some thrusting with the Ryder, I ended up going at it several minutes and if my hands hadn't gotten tired, I wouldn't have stopped. It felt really good.

I found no problem with the Ryder when it came time to remove it. Just a firm tug on the base and bear down a little and the Ryder's smooth curves enable it to slide out without creating any discomfort. Once removed after about five hours of continuous wear, the Ryder left my butt feeling comfortably stretched and ready for the next activity.

The Ryder is a silicone plug so water based lube is a must. Silicone lube cannot be used with the Ryder or anything else made of silicone as it will cause severe damage.

The Ryder can be cleaned up with warm water and anti-bacterial soap. If you want to sterilize it, the Ryder can be submersed in a pot of boiling water for 3 minutes or cleaned with water with 10% bleach added or it can be placed on the top rack of the dishwasher (my personal choice).

The Ryder looks like a butt plug. I can't imagine trying to convince anyone differently. So, in the interest of being discreet, it should be stored somewhere out of sight. When not in use, I keep my Ryder in a drawer in a plastic zip lock sandwich bag so it does not gather dust or lint and can't be harmed by coming in contact with my other silicone toys.

As soon as I received the Ryder I was so excited, I unwrapped it, inserted it and shortly thereafter, put the packaging in the trash. As I remember, the packaging is a clear plastic box about 6 inches high and about 3 inches wide. It displays the Ryder for the benefit of someone who may be buying it off of a store shelf. There was some writing on the package, but I honestly don't remember what it said. The packaging was not discreet and was too bulky to use for storage.

While my original intention was to write a glowing review on this plug the minute I first tried it because I so loved how it made my ass feel, it turns out, I have had this plug for about a month now. I have a bad habit of starting things spontaneously and then taking forever to finish them and that was the case here. So now that I have had some experience with the Ryder, I am pleased to say that I am as thrilled with it now as I was the minute I first got it.

I have worn the Ryder for up to eight hours at a time with a re lubing every 90 minutes or so and it remained comfortable. I have been shopping, running, to the beach and out to dinner with the Ryder and it stayed securely in place with each use. I also found the Ryder to be very nice driving companion as every bump in the road delivers a subtle reminder of its presence.

Did I mention how much I love having this plug in my ass? Some wine, some Lorazapam and a little time with the Ryder inside me and I suddenly have the same inspiration to finish this review as I did to start it.
