Sapphire glass beads.

The Sapphire Falls combines a beaded design with a gradual curve to make G-spot stimulation easier. It's double ended, so you have the choice of a small first ball or large first ball, and with care it can be used anally as a probe or P-spot stimulator.

Use

The Sapphire Falls probe's slight curve and dual-ended design makes it good for vaginal play with mild to moderate G-spotting, and if you're careful it can also be used for anal and P-spot play. One end starts with a chain of smaller glass balls, while the other end starts of with a larger 1-1/2" diameter ball that provides strong internal stimulation of the G or P-spot. The glass balls are slick when lubed, and do not drag on skin or mucous membranes unless the toy gets really dried out.

Being made of glass, the Sapphire Falls holds heat and cold well for temperature play. It's best if you heat or cool it in a bowl of water.

Material / Texture

Cast in cobalt blue Pyrex glass, the Sapphire Falls probe's surface is, apart from the bumps, absolutely smooth. The hard glass is tasteless, unyielding and doesn't smell. When lubed the Sapphire Falls is extremely slick, and a little lube goes a long way. The textural contrast with the smoothly rounded beads produces delightful stimulation vaginally or anally.

Design / Shape / Size

The Sapphire Falls probe has seven beads, separated out into three sizes: two sets of three each at one size and a seventh, larger ball serving as a handle or pilot, depending on which way the toy is inserted. The top (smallest) set of three balls curves slightly to one side, enhancing the stimulation given to the G or P-spot.

The smallest balls are slightly under one inch in diameter, the midsized balls are slightly under one and a quarter inches, and the large ball is one and a half inches across. Due to the reversible design almost the entire toy is insertable, but in practice the last ball didn't slide in when used anally, so the usable length is between four and three quarters and five and a half inches. When used vaginally the Sapphire Falls can be inserted as far as you find comfortable. The lack of a positive stop on the toy means that you do need to be careful if you're interested in using it anally, but the design made it impossible for me to fully insert the Sapphire Falls anally - there was always enough outside to grab.

Performance

The smooth, hard balls do an excellent job of stimulation, whether you're using the Sapphire Falls as a G-spot toy, running it along the vulva for clitoral stimulation, or (carefully!) using it anally for anal and P-spot play. The dual-ended design allows for a varied experience. You can warm up with the small end first, and when you're ready you can turn the dildo around and insert the large end first for much stronger G and P-spot stimulation. Anally, using the large end first also helps to ensure that the Sapphire Falls doesn't slide out inadvertently. I'm a big fan of curved toys and, while slight, the curve of the Sapphire Falls is sufficient to enable G and P-spotting during use.

A bit more length would have made it easier to hold while doing deeper thrusting. I never had it slide out of my hand, but grabbing on to the small ball (when it's used large-end-first) makes you wonder.

Care and Maintenance

Since it is made of glass, the Sapphire Falls needs to be protected from being dropped on a hard surface, so it's probably best to not use this toy in the shower. Other than protecting the toy from physical damage glass is remarkably robust, and the Sapphire Falls can use any lube you want to throw at it. After use cleanup can be done with soap and water or other specialized cleaner. Since glass can sometimes be etched by the dishwasher (think about glasses that you've had for many years) it's probably best to consider the Sapphire Falls a hand-wash item, but an occasional trip through the dishwasher shouldn't hurt it.

Since glass is nonporous and resistant to chemicals the Sapphire Falls can be easily and effectively sanitized, either by boiling or using 10% bleach water.

It's best to protect glass toys while they are being stored, since chips and cracks can create stress points that the toy can crack at. SSA includes a padded cloth drawstring bag that will keep your toy safe when it's in the toybox.

Packaging

Inside the shipping box the Sapphire Falls comes enclosed in not one but two bags. The first bag is a simple plastic bag to keep everything together and clean, while the second bag is the padded cloth storage bag, equipped with drawstrings, that you can use to keep your toy safe. The Sapphire Falls that I received came in a bag with black faux-suede outside and pink satin inside. No instructions were included.

Personal comments

At first I was concerned about the lack of a positive stop or base on the Sapphire Falls, since anal toys should have something to keep them from being completely inserted into the rectum, where they can get lost. After testing the Sapphire Falls in multiple positions I was not able to get the toy fully inserted - there were always one or two balls on the outside where I could easily grab them. If you are planning to use this toy anally I would strongly recommend that you exercise caution until you know that it can't get lost in your body, either, as I wasn't able to hear from SSA glass whether or not it had been tested on enough people to ensure that it can't be fully inserted. It does feel great, especially with the large ball inserted first, so it's worth trying out if you're interested and careful.

Experience

We did find ourselves wishing for a little more curve and a little more length (so it would be easier to grab), but we found the Sapphire Falls to feel great during use, especially when we turned it around so the large ball went in first. If you're a fan of glass toys and want a graduated design with enough of a curve to hit the G or P-spot then the Sapphire Falls is a good choice.
