The Sassi Bendi ridge is made of rubber, but I don't recall a very strong smell. None at all, if I remember correctly. Its exterior is soft rubber, but of course the core of this toy is firm and bends with your body. I would say the texture is both for beginners and for more advanced users. The beginners may not feel as intimidated by this little toy as they would other anal plugs.

I actually like the design of this plug. I think the little bumps work very well with the female body, but it doesn't always stay put. This could be due to the fact that it doesn't exactly have a designated notch at the base. The last bump/ridge needs to be a little smaller in order to let a person's muscles close around the toy. It's too much of a flare, and that's probably why it kept slipping out. It's just too short and too wide to stay inside.

The best thing about this toy is the graduated bumps. The worst thing is that it may not stay inside of you, since the base is flared and the last bump is also a bit flared. It has a suction cup, but that cup doesn't always stay where you put it. Just choose your surface carefully!

DO NOT BOIL-EVER! Wash this little plug with antibacterial soap and warm water. Boiling your rubber toys can ruin them!

The packaging was pretty minimal. Just a small box that I don't believe would make a good gift box, if you're trying to keep it a surprise!
