There are times that I feel like an anal toy junkie. I had quite a collection of plugs, but I realized that I didn’t have any nicely sized anal vibrators. I browsed through Eden’s site and discovered the small Rump Shaker from Doc Johnson. For a reasonably low price, I decided to give this a try, and ordered one in purple (it also comes in black, pink, and flesh).

When the Rump Shaker came, I loved the color at once. It’s a pretty shade of lavender, and it's so cute! The Shaker is about 4 1/2” long (with 4” of insertable fun), and only 1” in diameter, perfect for anal novices or anyone who doesn’t like to stretch their ass. It is slightly less than 1” at the tip, and widens out to 1” before thinning before the flared base. On the bottom under the base is the cord, which connects to the remote control via a jack. The remote takes 2AA batteries (hooray – no watch batteries! I have AAs all over the house, but who keeps packs of watch batteries lying around?), and has a spin dial to increase intensity from gentle hum to powerful throb.

I noticed the peculiar odor right out of the packaging. The Rump Shaker is made of smooth rubber, which is porous and dirt-repellent, and also has a funky smell. By washing and airing out the toy a few times before use, the smell will dissipate somewhat. Rubber also has a long life and low wear. Because it is porous, rubber does not clean well, so a condom should be used during each use. Both silicone based and water based lubricants are great to use with rubber.

The plug has some give to it, and is not hard or rigid like glass or acrylic plugs. I was happy to see that it could be separated from the controller pack, and after washing and airing it out, I was ready to try the Rump Shaker out with my husband.

My husband loves fucking my ass with a variety of toys, and we both enjoyed this one immensely. The Rump Shaker slid in without any problem after being liberally lubed with KY, and my husband gave the remote a twist. It is definitely best to start out with lower vibrations first and crank the control up higher as your horniness increases! Once I got used to the plug in and sending vibrations all through my ass, we added a dildo and an egg vibe to my clit, and orgasm came quickly. I love this toy.

I had a chance to try the Rump Shaker on its own the next morning. Unfortunately, it’s not waterproof, but it was fun and made me ultra-horny when I tested it out in bed. I think our next experiment will be to use the Rump Shaker to loosen me up so my husband can try what he really wants to!

Overall, I would recommend the Rump Shaker. It has quite a buzz for the buck, and its size is not intimidating. Doc Johnson does make this in a larger size, and I may try that next.

This is still one of my favorite anal toys. Vibrating plugs are great! Even though it's small, we usually use it to loosen me up a bit before going for a bigger toy. The scent has completely dissipated.

We've also experimented by switching around the controllers. Since the Rump Shaker has a jack that fits in almost all the other controllers I have, we tried this with one that had a pulse function, and wow! That was a different sensation and highly pleasurable.
