Doc Johnson's Rump Shakers Medium is a power-packed vibrating butt plug. It is not something for the beginner as it is quite big, but it is great for stretching your anal capacity. Due to its size and tapered end, it can also be used for clitoral stimulation, nipple stimulation, and inserting vaginally. Just note that if you go from anal to vaginal or share between partners, cover it with a condom. I will warn those who have an aversion to really strongly scented toys that this, in fact, does have a very strong smell. All in all, it's a great vibrating butt plug for a very reasonable price. It makes couple's intercourse buzz with delight.

The Rump Shakers is made out of rubber using the Sil-A-Gel formula. Contrary to popular belief and as the name sort of implies, Sil-A-Gel is NOT made of silicone. What it is is a type of PVC that is semi-porous and antibacterial. It has a very strong odor to it that smells like fruit mixed with vinyl. No matter how many times I have washed it or how long I left it out to air, the smell will not diminish. If you don't like strong-smelling toys, this is not the plug for you!

The toy is phthalate- and latex-free, antibacterial, and completely nontoxic. It is, however, not ideal for sharing as it is semi-porous. If you do share, it's recommended to use a condom over it between partners and also if you are switching from anal to vaginal insertion with it.

The Rump Shakers is very smooth to the touch. When lubed up, it becomes very slippery. It has no textured bumps or anything like that to add extra stimulation. The body is very firm, but the tapered end is quite pliable and bends easily. The outer covering is hard rubber while the inner core is squishier, it seems.

This butt plug is ideal for those who are intermediate or advanced in anal play. It is rather large, having a circumference of 5 1/2 inches at the thickest point. The toy is tapered at the top and gradually expands to the largest circumference, only to taper back down to a smaller size at the base. The insertable length of this is 4 1/2 inches. I liked how big it was due to the full feeling it gave me once I had it completely inserted.

I love the fact that it is controlled by a battery-powered pack that has a cord from the toy and plugs into the pack. It takes two AA batteries to power it and they last for quite a while. It is connected by a cord from the plug to the pack, but it's long enough not to get in the way very often. The power pack is also color coordinated to your plug, so if you are a coordination freak like myself or have OCD (I am not denying this nor confirming this for myself), you will like this feature. It also helps to identify it if you have a lot of toys that require packs that are floating around in your storage case/drawer.

It is not an overly noisy toy which is a bonus if you are trying to be discreet about what you are doing. It is about as loud as your cell phone's vibrations when it is not inserted, and it is super quiet when inserted. For this reason, it's great for use with roommates or children sleeping in another room.

This toy is not waterproof, so don't go taking it in the bath with you or submerging it in water.

To care for the Rump Shakers, you should wash it before initial use and after very subsequent use. It is recommended to use warm water and mild soap to clean Sil-A-Gel. If it has attracted dust and lint, as it is known for, you should wash it off before you stick it in any orifices.

Due to the very strong smell, storing your toy is best done in its own plastic baggy. This will keep the smell from permeating through your other toys. It is quite a strong smell that doesn't seem to go away with time or airing out the thing.

The Rump Shakers is compatible with water- or silicone-based lube. I have used Doc Johnsons Anal Lube with it and it works wonders!

Do NOT submerse this toy and the battery pack in water to clean it. If you get lube or bodily fluids on the pack or the wire attached, just wipe it with a cloth doused in soap and water, then rinse.

This toy comes in a clear, clamshell plastic package that is not recyclable. There is an insert with it that says "Rump Shakers" in large letters and is complete with a silhouette of a woman's upper torso and ass. The package boats that it is indestructible and sturdy. It also says to "put the buzz in your butt." This is definitely NOT discreet packaging. Anyone who can read will figure out what this is for.

There are no instructions on how to operate it, but I don't think they are needed for this. It is very straight-forward. On the back on the insert, there are the specs of the toy and what it is made of, and what batteries it requires.

I would not recommend this package as storage as it's large and a baggy would also keep the smell to the toy itself.

When I ordered the Rump Shakers medium, it appeared smaller in the online actual size than the actual size that arrived. At first, I was a bit intimidated, but I am not an anal beginner per se, though I am a beginner to intermediate toys. I decided I would use a lot of lube and just go very slowly to stretch out my anus. I managed to fully insert it in about a minute and I was very happy when I did. It felt amazingly full and smooth to get in. When I started it on low, I could feel some nice vibrations coming from the toy. As I increased the intensity, I felt like I was in anal stimulation heaven! I use this toy with a strong and rumbly vibrator on my clit and it gives me some very intense and amazing feelings. The only thing that really turns me off of this toy is the damn smell. I don't mind some smells, but this one is so strong it infiltrates my senses with a scent that is less than desirable. I suppose I will put up with it for now, until I find a great anal vibe that is not watch battery powered and is silicone.
