Small size and limited useSave up your money and invest in a better butt plug. Although you might be tempted to use this as an intro to anal, there are many other plugs that will give you a more filling sensation, and stay where you put it. I don't regret buying the Crystal Cote, but having experienced many other anal toys and sensations now, I sure would not recommend it to those looking to get into real anal play.
Made of TPR, good for beginners and those looking for a finger like sensation
Full flare base, uncomfortable taper and seem
This was the toy that stole my anal virginity. Ok, so it didn't really steal it so much as it took it willingly, but I guess it did the job. The Crystal Cote butt plug was an alright choice as my first anal plug. It is flared and slender, so it is perfectly suited for the anal amateur. I doubt this could be used for anything other than anal insertion, because it is so thin (it really is like a thick thumb). The flared bottom is substantially larger than the insertable portion of the toy, which means it wont get lost inside of you, but the flare is quite hard to work with. If you are looking for a wearable plug, this is not it. The round base does not perform well unless you are in a squatting position, or with your legs pulled up, so these are the only two positions I would recommend for the toy. The best place for this toy is in the shower. I was free to go wild with the lube and relax in some warm water while enjoying this butt plug.
This toy is made of TPR Silicone. It is very firm and stiff. This is both good and bad, because it allows you to slide it in without fear of it bending one way or the other, but it also does not offer a soft supple feel. The stiffness does not add anything to the stimulation and I feel that a softer plug would be more enjoyable. Like all of my other TPR toys, it is free of any major smells, and if you enjoy your toys warmed up a bit, this butt plug does warm up a little if you keep it in the shower with you while warming yourself up. There is nothing realistic about this toy, and the slight taper in the plug does not bring sensations of a finger at all.
The flare of this toy is the biggest problem. When compared to other butt plugs, the Crystal Cote has a full circular base. This is great for storing the toy because it does not fall over too easy, but it leaves no room to sit in between your butt cheeks. Due to the large flare and the small length, the positions that you are able to use the plug are very limited. The shape of the plug is just ok. It is neither greatly stimulating or too simple, but falls in between (leaning more towards too simple). There is a small taper in the toy, starting out at about a 1/2" then going to about 1". There is also a seam and small lettering on the base of the toy that I find rather uncomfortable. I thought this would be a great toy to start my anal adventures on, but in reality, it was too small to satisfy my needs! This size will satisfy only the true anal beginner, and for anyone who has had some experience (even with fingering) this toy will not meet any expectations. The color in the butt plug is very similar in design to the Crystal Cote dildo (which is awesome), and the red is a very deep color. I would have found it amazing if this butt plug took a cue from its dildo brother and got some ridges or texture to add to the fun. When using this butt plug the taper is flawed. It needs to be more flared in order to keep it in place once inserted.
Even with using this toy for my first anal experience, it left me wanting more. I know that I purchased a small width plug, but I feel I get more sensation from my finger (which is smaller) than from using this toy. The bottom looks like it has a suction cup, and if you push hard enough, it will stick for a few seconds, but don't expect this toy to stay anywhere you put it. When in use the sensation the toy gives was bizarre to me. Having more anal experience now (with substantially larger toys), I still find that using this plug leaves me feeling uncomfortable. I cannot say for sure whether this is due to it's small size or large flare, but I have a feeling that it has to due with the taper design. I was much happier using a larger plug that actually gave me the sensation of being filled full, and stretching the limit, which the Crystal Cote butt plug just does not do.
Certainly the best part of owning this toy is the care. It washes in the shower with anti-bacterial soap and water, making cleanup a breeze. Because of it's large base, it stands up in a drawer just fine. Beware, if you lay it on its side, it will roll around all the time! The TPR silicone is only compatible with water based lubes, and unlike the benefits of owning a pure silicone dildo, this shouldn't be shared.
This toy left me yearning for satisfaction and a full sensation. I love when anal toys stretch me up, and push the limit, and this toy (even as my first toy) never gave me that feeling.
