Soft and Cushy for My Tushie!

I like a lot of things about this plug. It's pliable, bendable, purple, and nicely tapered. Unfortunately, the taper at the bottom is too gradual for me to be able to keep it "plugged in". Maybe I just need more practice!

Use

The Sassy Bendi Dome is a butt plug. Its best use is as you might suspect, plugging the anus. This is my first plug (although not my first experience with anal penetration), and I can say as a butt plug beginner it's acceptable, but maybe not perfect for a first plug. It's a little larger than I had imagined it would be, even though I read the dimensions on the product page. It is, however, a little squishy and tapered, making it very comfortable to insert if you go slowly and use a lot of lube.
The dimensions are as follows:
Total Length: 4.5"
Insertable Length: 4"
Diameter: 1.5"

It has a suction cup at the base, which I have tested on various surfaces. It sticks very well to anything that is totally smooth: the refrigerator, the bathtub/shower wall, the top of my desk, and even the finished pine paneling of my wall! I do not have any painted surfaces in my house, so I can't tell you how well it sticks to paint.

This toy has a "bending" feature. The feeling you get when bending it is comparable to one of those bendy straws. I'm torn on how I feel about the bending. It's cool in that it really does "move with you" as the packaging says, but it also makes it a little more difficult to insert since it bends whether you want it to or not.

Material / Texture

The Sassi bendi dome is made of rubber. It smells rubbery, and tastes like it smells. I tasted it before any other use just to be able to let you know. I have issues with the thought of anal to oral play, so the taste isn't something that really matters to me personally.

Its texture is a little bit sticky, somewhat like you often find with TPE toys, although this one is made of rubber. It's pretty squishy. It has a lot of give as I said earlier, which I really like. As a beginner, as much as I love the look of glass and metal plugs, I'm concerned that they would be too rigid and uncomfortable. Because of the sticky texture, there's a lot of drag. I recommend having plenty of lube handy. Speaking of lube, since it's rubber, be sure not to use any petroleum based lubes with it. You can use silicone or water based lubes. Rubber is quite porous and has a safety rating of 3. If you plan on sharing this toy, or putting it in your mouth or vagina, you should definitely cover it! You might want to cover it anyway just to be on the safe side.

The packaging doesn't have any warnings about the toy containing latex, but it also doesn't specifically state that it doesn't contain latex. If I had an allergy or sensitivity to latex, I'd probably steer clear of this toy just so I didn't find out the hard way whether it does or does not.

Design / Shape / Size

Dome

The design of this toy is similar in shape to many anal plugs, but with two additional small bumps on the bottom and the unique (to this toy line) bendy function. As I said earlier in the review, the bendiness is, in my opinion, both positive and negative. It's less stable, making it somewhat tricky to get in. I kind of like the bending, though, because once I get it in, it doesn't really like to stay in me unassisted. If I'm sitting on it, and lean forward or back, it doesn't poke me uncomfortably. It bends the way I do.

As far as its refusal to stay in place, it could very well be my inexperience. It could also be part of the design. I find it's too long for me to comfortably insert all the way to the bottom of the second bump, but the taper at the bottom of the top part is too gradual, so it slips out unless I sit on it or hold it in place.

Performance

The best thing for me is the angle of the top of the top bulb. It's comfortable to insert because it's almost kind of pointy at the top. It starts out really small, about the same width of my pinky finger, and is long enough that by the time I get to the widest point, which is 1.5" in diameter, I'm relaxed and have gotten used to it step by step.

I have not used this with a harness and a partner, but for the sake of research, I did put on my harness and put it in the O-ring. The outcome was just as I'd feared. While it fits in there quite nicely, the rubber at the base is just too floppy to really hold it in the harness well. It pops out without too much tugging. I guess if you had something smooth, round, and flat you could take advantage of the suction cup function, thus making it rigid enough to stay in.

The floppy base is something people who use much larger anal toys might want to take into account. Comments on reviews of the Tantus Acute, which also has a fairly flimsy base, lead me to believe that some advanced users are concerned that the toy could get "sucked in". The base on this is considerably larger than the base on the Acute, though. You might not need to worry about it.

Care and Maintenance

As I mentioned earlier, the most hygienic way to use this toy is to cover it with a new condom or cover for each insertion.

People with pets, be aware. The sticky texture of this toy makes it a veritable magnet for fur! People without pets should also expect dust, lint, and random bits of fluff to adhere nicely to this plug as soon as they turn their back on it.

As with all my toys, I wash it with mild soap and water before use, and spray it down with toy cleaner immediately after use. I then follow up with more soap and tons of water. I'm sensitive to the triclosan in toy cleaner, and if I don't take care to wash and rinse well enough, it burns.

I store it in a little pouch another toy came in, in my sex toy drawer. That seems to be working okay for now. If I can't figure out how to get this toy to stay in place hands free without duct tape (now there's an idea), it'll likely get sent to the island of misfit toys.

Packaging

Dome Package
The Bendi Dome comes in a plastic clamshell type package, which is molded to the shape of the toy. In no way is it discreet. It doesn't say butt plug on the front, but it does on the back. Well, it's just kind of hangin' out in the package looking like a butt plug.

Personal comments

As a fan of DP and things that vibrate, I must say that this toy carries vibrations very well. I like to use it with my Jopen Vanity Vr3 in my vagina. The Bendi Dome picks up the vibrations and takes this plug to a whole new level! WOW-WHEEEEEE!

As nice as this looks, they should never make anal toys out of anything less safe than a 9. Thanks for reviewing! =)

I agree with you, but since they do, and I don't plan to share and do plan to keep it covered, I opted for the free toy to review! Thanks for reading!
