Plug of lust large - butt plug by Orion - review by Jessica (Buttercup Green)

The Plug of Lust is meant to be a butt plug. It is firm, yet flexible in some parts. If you are a beginner to anal, I suggest trying the Plug of Lust in small first (if you like the look of this plug) before attempting this large size. If you are an experienced in anal play, I do not think you will be fully satisfied with this plug. It would almost be boring in my opinion. This plug does have the flared base required for it to be called safe. It even has a nice little loop on the end of the base to make removing a little bit easier. This plug lacks a curve for prostate massage, but it just might be able to rub some people's prostate thanks to the 1 1/2" diameter bulge. Like with everything else, it is really going to depend on your body.

This plug is composed of a material called silicone. It is a non porous material, which just means that it will not soak up or harbor any bacteria. Of course this is excellent news, especially if you are prone to infections. Silicone can be sanitized by bleaching or boiling, but we will get to that later. I am used to plush and squishy silicone, but the type of silicone used for this plug is very firm. It has a little give in the tapered tip, the neck, and the retrieving ring. The large bulge is super firm. The base is movable with the pressure of a finger, but once it is nestled between the cheeks it feels hard as a rock. It does not move or mold with the body. This definitely causes problems when trying to wear it for an extended period of time. The plug arrived without any smells or tastes to it.
While the plug looks smooth, there is a tiny problem. All along the sides is a visible seam. Because the silicone is so firm, the seam can definitely be felt when inserting. The seam on the sides of the flared base can cause irritation to the outside of the anus as well.

This plug starts out with a promising tapered tip. It then gradually grows to the bulge, which is the biggest part of the toy. After you get past the bulge, it gently tapers down into the flexible neck. Next comes the stiff base, and attached to the base is a ring for easy removal.
I am no beginner when it comes to rigid materials, but this just does not feel at all comfortable.
I think the reason it does not work with me is due to the mixture of where the flexibility and firmness are located on the plug. The flexible neck and the rigid base pinch my bum in the most painful way. This occurs especially when I try to sit. The neck is also pretty short, which may be why it does not like to stay in during sex.
This is not the most discreet toy. If found, I think someone would automatically assume it was a butt plug or sex toy of sorts.
I think this is a good intermediate plug, but I just wish I could recommend it.
I am super bummed that I could not get this plug to work.

The design plus the hard silicone plus the seam really equals a fail for me. I cannot wear this plug for more than 5 minutes at a time because the base is just too uncomfortable. It does not sit well between my cheeks. When I try to sit down or walk, it constantly feels like the base is pinching the outside of my anus! I think this is because of the very flexible neck and the not so flexible flared base. It has caused my bum some serious discomfort, and I now refuse to touch it. It could very well just be me. I hope it is. I do not want this toy to cause any negative reactions for anyone else.
On top of all of this, it does not stay in at all during sex. It does not hesitate to pop out.

In order to clean silicone, all you need is some warm water and antibacterial soap. A favorite toy cleaner will also do in a pinch.
If the plug needs to be sanitized, a 10% bleach solution wipe down will do. Also boiling it in water for 3-5 minutes is another option.
For storage, I suggest either the original packaging or a Ziploc bag as silicone is known to be a lint and hair magnet.
When choosing a lubricant to use with this plug, I suggest only using a water based lubricant. Silicone and silicone lubricants are enemies.

The Plug of Lust comes in the typical plastic, clam shell packaging. This type of packaging is in no way discreet. Why? Well the whole toy is completely visible in the front of the packaging, and there is a naked lady on the front too. I am sure those examples are enough to make my point, but there is one more thing. The words "The restrainer for your tight love chamber" are easily visible on the front as well. There are 8 different languages on the back explaining that this plug is made out of white silicone, and it has a tapered tip and retrieving ring. Other than this, there is absolutely no information on the packaging. It would be nice to have some care and cleaning instructions for those who have never owned a silicone toy before. The packaging can be used for storage, but I do not think it will hold up for a long period of time.
