Tristan 2 - butt plug by Vixen Creations, Inc - review by ~LaUr3n~

Oh Tristan, it's not your fault that you don't work for me. I got this because 1. The color is gorgeous, 2. I wanted a plug a bit larger than the Ryder so I could have anal sex with my partner more often, and 3. The on screen "real size" shot of you made you look perfect for the job because of your fun, full shape. I have gotten in the habit of not reading the product page dimensions because more often than not, I find them to be incorrect in one way or another (not grossly, but still). I instead rely on the "real size" pictures (the ones that you adjust to your screen using a credit card or dollar). When this plug arrived, I totally thought I was given the wrong plug. The box said Tristan 2, so I ran to my computer and held up my plug to the one on Eden's "real size" picture. So NOT the right size!

Less than 1 3/4" in diameter here... when it is over 2 1/4" in reality. That's a huge difference!

So...what to do? This isn't something I bought myself, it's an assignment. I felt an obligation to conquer this. So in a panic, I threw open my toy box and rummaged through the many toys that have not been touched in awhile. I didn't have any plugs that would help me conquer this beast. I had the Ryder, but that didn't help me at all. I had girthy toys, but I needed a plug. I had to buy The Big End Plug plug in a hurry. That didn't help me either. To be completely honest, I haven't gotten this plug in me all the way, nor do I think I really want to after all the frustration, pain, and lack of pleasure I have experienced trying to get this thing in me. It's simply not going to work a this stage. If I can't fit it in my vagina easily, that's a good indication that it isn't going to fit in me anally.

So, that being said. The Tristan is the baddest plug I have ever laid my hands on. It's bold and beautiful and one huge hunk of gorgeous silicone. It's meant for the advanced or even expert anal player, that I am not. I play anally often, but never with things this larger. While this plug didn't work for me yet, or ever, I can appreciate it's bulbous and robust size and shape. It's a quality plug that will bring pleasure to those who can take it.

This plug is made of some of the best silicone on the planet, Vixen's. Strangely enough, the company calls it silicone rubber. Have no fear, this is 100% silicone. Amazing silicone at that. It is firm to the grip, but has a certain degree of plushness to it, the perfect amount for a butt plug of this size. Silicone is super safe for the body by being free of allergens, chemicals, pthalates, and latex. It's also non=porous and can be completely sterilized. The surface is smooth, but does have some drag even though it isn't sticky. It does collect a lot of lint and dust, so rinsing before use is a good idea. There is no odor or taste to the material.

The Tristan 2 is the second plug that Tristan Taormino helped Vixen Creations design. After so many people loved the original Tristan plug, a bigger, longer, and thicker one was designed, the Tristan 2. THEN, for good reason, a middle size was designed, Tristan 1.5. I would have been much better off with either of those. In fact, they were added to the wish list after I found out how large Tristan 2 really is.

Compared to the smaller sizes, the Tristan 2 has the same design, except the tip is more rounded, and it is bigger of course. These plugs have a very interesting design in that their bulb is shorter then their neck. The longer neck is designed to help keep the plug in for longer periods of time. It is 4 1/4" from base to tip, 3" of that is insertable. The bulb is only about 1 3/4" long, a huge 6 1/2" around, and a little over 2 1/4" in diameter. The bulb starts off rather abruptly and gets thick fast.



The neck is 1 7/8" long after the drop off from the bulb. It is 5 1/8" in circumference, about 1 3/4" in diameter. The thick neck makes this plug excellent for using before anal sex. It will keep you nice and wide, not allowing your sphincter muscles to relax too much. The base is interesting and different than what I am used to. It is a little over 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" x 2". It has curved in sides and curved out ends. The bottom is flat and you scan see where the plug has been cut from the mold. the edges are not abrasive. For a plug this large, the base has to be large too, for safety reasons. It also provides something extra too. In order to experience the base between my cheeks, I simply turned the plug around. Surprisingly, the wide set base wasn't all that uncomfortable and will make it impossible for you to get completely comfortable with this plug in. I mean that in a good way. The base pulls apart the cheeks in such a way that it's arousing, almost like you are being exposed. The base makes for an excellent handle to grip on. The fingers can curl around the sides easily.



Tristan 2 isn't discreet at all. He is big and beautiful. Hello! Look at that gorgeous purple swirled silicone! If you want to hide him, it might be a little hard due to his size, but he can be stored just about anywhere.

This plug is not easy to get in. The biggest reason for that, even more so than its sheer size, is the shape. There isn't even a good point to guide this in to your ass. You have got to be REALLY aroused, have had something similar in size in your butt right before, or have a lot of time and patience on your hands. It helps if you have all three. For me, I was a bit scared to use this plug. I'm not going to lie. I lubed up like no tomorrow! This proved to be a problem though. Let's go back to what I said about there not really being a point at the top of this plug to help guide it in slowly. Because of this, the plug can slip and slide around your anal opening until you have relaxed your anal muscles enough to start letting it in. Use both hands to keep control of the plug. If you let up on the pressure you are applying, you could lose all you have gained with just a slight miss-movement. This is where I had most of my issues with this plug. My wrists or hands would get tired, I would try to reposition, and then the plug would be completely out again. No amount of regyrating or pushing would get me back to where I was any faster than it took me to get there in the first place. SIGH.

So, no, this gorgeous plug hasn't been inside me all the way, and I don't think it ever will. I'm okay with that. Tristan 1, Lauren 0. I want to get the Tristan original and Tristan 1.5. I never desired to have a plug this large inside of me and don't think that will ever change, but if the 1 and 1.5 go well, who knows.

And no, this didn't make it in me vaginally either. I blame this on the shape again. It's just too big right away and doesn't allow any accommodation to be had before it hits the largest thickness. I've heard that plugs like this can provide a lot of g-spot stimulation, so I might give that another go before I put this near my butt again.

This plug can be boiled for 5 minutes or put in the dishwasher to sterilize it. Otherwise, using hot water and soap does just fine. You may be tempted to use silicone lubricants, but only use water based with this toy. Trust me, I really wanted to use silicone. If you can, use the slickest, thickest water based lube you have.

The packaging is so simple, but very classy and high end feeling. The Tristan 2 comes in a hard, clear, plastic box. The lid pops off and the plug just sits in there. It's obviously not discreet since the plug can be seen from every side of the cube, but it makes storage easier since it takes an awkward shape and turns it into a manageable one. Inside is a note from the design, Tristan. On the lid is a note from the maker and information about the material and the LIFE TIME guarantee.

Seriously, this is a great plug. It's just not a great plug for me right now. If you are looking for a challenge or love huge anal toys, this is an awesome one. It has a well designed unique shape (for those who can already take large objects - not a good design for the intermediate player) and great material. If you are unsure, just try the smaller models first. My rating is objective. I felt that was only fair.
