Bowler - probe discontinued by Orion - review by csweatc

The Bowler from Orion is a well made silicone butt plug/anal bead hybrid. As far as toys go, this one just looks like something that would be fun to play with, and I would say that for the most part it is. Used as a plug though, I was a little disappointed with the Bowler. As a guy I like to have anything in my butt stimulate my prostate or give me a sense of fullness back there, and this toy really didn't do either well. I'm saying this from the perspective of someone who has put a fair number of toys up his butt, and so I think that I am fair in saying that this guy might leave some to be desired for experienced folks. For people just venturing into the world of anal play, both male and female, I think the Bowler could actually make an excellent choice.

The first couple of insertable balls are really quite small and don't present much of a challenge. The gradual increase in ball size also makes this a really easy and unintimidating plug to put into even the most puckered bum hole. I found that the toy naturally went until the last ball, and then I could't get the last ball in. That might actually be the safest way to go because the little retaining hook (which makes a great way to hang the toy if you wash it after use in the shower!) is a bit flimsy, and a trip to the emergency room might not be out of the question. Although I never used the Bowler for partnered play, the little handle on the end would be perfect if you wanted to used the toy for some thrusting or to use it as you would anal beads.

Because the Bowler is made from 100% high quality silicone, it's very easy to clean and sterilize. Given the fact that I got bored with this toy pretty quickly, I had no problem dropping it into some boiling water before handing it off to my less anally experienced girlfriend. She hasn't tried it yet, otherwise I would give her reaction to it, but as I said above, I think that it might be something that she would enjoy given where she is at with ass play. I like to use natural oil lube made from grapeseed oil and olive oil for my bum toys, and I found it worked great with the Bowler as it has with all my other silicone toys. Because it's silicone, it's not compatible with silicone lubes, so be aware of that.

My experience with the Bowler wasn't one that impressed me to be honest. As I said above, I think that its diminutive size means that it comes up short in the performance department for experienced users. As a guy, I've found that a larger business end on a plug is usually more effective at giving my prostate some direct stimulation, and the Bowler is shaped as a wedge going the opposite direction. With one exception, every time I used the Bowler, I finished whatever fun I was having with another toy, which I don't think is a very good endorsement. It's a shame that I feel this way to be honest, because I really had some high expectations for this great looking and well made toy. If you're reading this as an experienced ass play person, then I think my experience might be of some interest, but if you're someone that is new to toys in your butt, then read some of the other reviews for this toy and give it some thought. I think this would make a fine entre into the world of butt plugs for someone interested.

Still underwhelmed by the Bowler. While it's certainly a nice looking little toy, it just doesn't make friends with my butt parts like some other toys do, and so I'm probably going to toss this one soon if my girlfriend doesn't take to it, because I certainly am not going to. I really wanted to like this toy, but it just never happened.
