The Large Tantus Ripple made quite a splash!

I believe that the Large Tantus Ripple is *definitely* worth it! A very high-quality product, this toy is versatile in that it fills so many shoes and can be used in many different ways. It's not too expensive, it's very easy to clean, and I *still* can't get over just how pretty the toy is. But it's looks, of course, are only half of the magic ;)

Pros
Pleasing to the eye as well as the body; high-quality, the memories that it gave my Fiancé and I :)
Cons
Pet hair, dust, and lint seem to love the Ripple as much as I do. Nothing a quick rinse can't fix :)

Use

The Tantus Ripple combines the best of five worlds (yes, I said five!). It has the characteristics of a probe, plug, dildo, anal trainer, and graduating beads rolled into one outstanding toy.

While it is mainly intended for anal use, it can also be used vaginally, so long as it has been thoroughly cleaned after use in the anus. A quick solution to this is using a condom over the Ripple, then taking it off and discarding it after use anally, so that the toy itself is clean and able to be used elsewhere immediately.

Fellow Ladies: I know this has probably been said a billion times, and I'm probably flogging a long-dead horse, so to speak, but it goes without saying that you should *NEVER* use a toy in the vagina if it has not been cleaned after anal use. It can cause horrible infections and it's not worth the trouble that a couple seconds of time could have prevented.

As far as the flared base, I can say with complete confidence that it's not going to get lost inside anyone. The base is generous enough that you can use it with no worries of taking a not-so-lovely trip to the ER, yet flexible enough that it is very comfortable.

Material / Texture

Like many of the other Tantus toys, the Ripple is made of 100% medical-grade silicone and I found that it had no odor or taste lingering on the product. It's firm, yet flexible and squishy; when squeezing it between your fingers, it has just the right amount of give in it to make it very comfortable to use. Meaning that it is not only great for advanced users, but also beginners as well.

Design / Shape / Size

I must say, this toy looks just as good as it feels. I almost bought the Ripple in the color black (as it is indeed available in black) but when I opened the package I was *so* glad I went with purple. Pictures do not do this toy justice! When looked at it has a very pearly glimmer to it and you can see faint random swirls of purple that is just a smidgen darker than the majority of the toy. This is an effect found in most Tantus products that is caused during manufacturing when the silicone is poured into the toy's respective molds. This means that your toy will be unique because no two people will have the exact same "marbling pattern". It is very much like a snowflake in that while alot of them look the same, when it comes down to the tiny, minute details, they are quite different.

Something that caught my eye about the Ripple is that it is in fact perfectly seamless! Meaning there are no rough, sharp, or snagging edges to worry about or little nooks where bacteria can hide. Also, just looking at the toy and seeing no seams on it makes the toy that much more aesthetically pleasing to look at, in my opinion.

As for the shape and size of the Ripple, it stands about 7 inches tall with 6 1/4 inches of insertable length. The curvaceous bulbs gradually increase in size from 3 inches in circumference (roughly 1 inch in diameter) to just over 4 3/4 inches in circumference (almost 1 1/2 inches in diameter). While this size suited me well, I understand that some may prefer something smaller. Never fear! The Ripple also comes in a smaller size, found here: https://www.edenfantasys.com/anal-toys/anal-probes/ripple

Performance

When used, the Ripple can take on many different roles. If slowly thrust in and pulled out, the toy is very similar to graduated beads and also a dildo. When it is staying put inside, it is like a mix between plug and probe. Along with the aforementioned ways to use the Ripple, I personally and successfully used it as a sort of anal trainer as well. It can even transfer vibrations quite well when a vibrator is held against it's base. In all honesty, I can not think of anything in particular that isn't that great when it comes to performance :)

Also, though it does not have a suction cup, it is in fact harness compatible. I myself have not tried it, and I'll probably never use it in a harness setup [its just not my thing :) ] but I have looked around read that it works very well when used with an O-ring style harness.

Care and Maintenance

Since the Ripple is made from silicone, it is very easy to care for. You can clean it with hot water and anti-bacterial soap, via boiling, using a 10% bleach solution, and you even put it on the top rack of your dishwasher! Tantus toys made from silicone are perfectly safe up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to cleaning them.

I do suggest storing the Tantus Ripple in a bag, toy drawer or box, due to the fact that it's a literal pet hair, lint, and dust magnet. If I had to choose one thing that I didn't particularly care for about this toy, this would be it. *However*, it is such a minor issue compared to the multitude of great things about this product, that it doesn't even bother me that much. That and if the dust bunnies do decide to land on your toy after you cleaned it or before you use it, just rinsing it off usually does the trick.

When it comes to lubricants I recommend using a good water-based lube with the Ripple. While it may be tempting to use a Silicone lube with this or any other silicone toy (especially where anal is concerned), please *do not* do so. What will happen is the silicone lubricant will bind itself to the silicone product and it will become a terribly gooey mess. And trust me, with a great toy like this, you definitely won't want that to happen.

Packaging

The Ripple is packaged in a mostly clear, tasteful, plastic Tantus box. None of the usual seductive ladies and gents in their skivvies looking lustfully at you, are present on this parcel. Which means that if you do intend to give this to someone as a gift and they are shy or don't particularly like the boxes with such models for whatever reason, then this is for you! Now, please note: while this box *is* discreet in this sense, it *is NOT* discreet when it comes to seeing the toy itself through the package. It is plainly visible from outside the box.

Personally, I'm neither here nor there when it comes to either scenario. As long as the toy is protected and safe from being damaged while in the box, then attractive models or no, I'm happy with it.

Personal comments

Something I do want to mention when it comes to any sort of anal play: I personally do not suggest using any numbing or desensitizing product. Some may swear by creams, lubes, and etc that numb the area it's applied to, I however do not. I'm not saying it's wrong to use by *any* stretch of the imagination, but that it could potentially be dangerous. If the person in question numbed themselves to avoid any pain that may come with anal sex, and something goes wrong, (say, for example: a perforation in the colon or tearing of the anal tissues) they may not be able to feel it due to the numbing product's effects, and may not find out until afterward when there may be even more damage or when it's too late.

I recommend taking things slowly, using plenty of lube, and relaxing naturally. Albeit, it'll take a little longer to accomplish, but at least then the body won't be rushed beyond what it can handle at the time.

A personal example, if I may: The main reason I got this toy was because my Fiancé and I wanted to try anal sex. I bought this product so that I could slowly, gradually stretch myself safely and eventually work up to being able to accommodate my (talented and well endowed) Fiancé inside me. When I finally was able to do just that, I was so proud of myself for working on it for not only him, but also for myself. If you try to rush yourself with numbing creams and the like, then where is pride in working to accomplish it?

But then again, that's just my views on it :) Just like with anything else, "Results may vary" of course.
