Prostate massager discontinued

The missing piece

Neo is an all around good prostate massager. I can solidly recommend it as an entry level prostate massager or as a fill in for more advanced users looking for a prostate massager that will stay in well.

Use

The Nexus Neo is a prostate massager and is such is best used as a male only anal tool. While it may serve other uses, this is its primary application. In this limited role though it is still quite versatile as due to its design, it can be worn during a variety of situations and activities. It can be used solo or with a partner. During masturbation, intercourse, oral sex (both receiving and giving) as well just being used by itself either in an effort to get an anal orgasm or to provide subtle anal stimulation either as a warm up to other things or just enjoyment all on its own.

The main use that I've found the most use for Neo is during intercourse. I already have the Progasm which I still prefer somewhat, but it's main fault is not staying in during intercourse where as this one does (and very well I might add).

Neo like most prostate massagers is also an excellent kegel exerciser. By squeezing and relaxing your kegel muscles you move the toy in and out providing pleasure as well as exercising your kegel muscles at the same time.

Material / Texture

The Nexus Neo is made out of hard plastic material that is fairly light and without the steel ball in it will actually float. Its packaging states that it is phalates free as well. It did not have any odor when it arrived and does not hold onto odors after a basic cleaning with soap and water. The material is smooth and while there is a visible seam, you can't really feel it in your hand or during use. It does have tiny bumps all over the surface which I think helps a little more lube to stay on the toy but they're very small and don't change the texture too much. Being made out of plastic, the toy is completely non-porous which makes cleanup easier and makes less lube necessary versus porous toys.

Design / Shape / Size

Neo has a fairly basic design that proves to be fairly effective with few faults. It's best feature over other prostate massagers is it's round stainless steel ball serving as the perineum tab. It's smaller than the one on my Nexus Excel but otherwise the same which stands in contrast to most of the Aneros line, which has a flat perineum tab which can become uncomfortable. Neo is a fairly small diameter and should be usable by anyone even beginners with some warm-up (True beginners will need to practice with fingers first). Despite it's small size, initial insertion is still a little more challenging than one might expect. The first ripple goes in fine but the second one can take some time. The key seems to be adequate warm-up followed by a firm but not overexerting pressure to insert it. After initial insertion, it behaves more like a toy it's size. Just because it's small does not mean this toy is merely good for beginners though as due to it's design, it seems to stay in very well which most other prostate massagers seem to have a hard time with.

Performance

I wasn't too pleased with the performance of the Nexus Excel. It was an ok toy but really not the upgrade from the Aneros Progasm I was hoping it would be. It was ScottA's review that made me to decide to try out this model even though it seemed pretty similar in design. I have to say I'm glad I did as Neo fills a gap in my toybox that I've been wanting for a while and that is a prostate massager that will stay in during intercourse or while standing. I still like my Aneros Progasm better but it won't stay in during intercourse making this my only option other than butt plugs that don't provide as much stimulation. The Nexus Neo has felt like it was going to fall out a couple times and this has caused me to tense up but I'm starting to get used to it and I don't think it's actually getting ready to fall out as much as my muscles are relaxing and allowing Neo to have a longer stroke of motion going in and out. I feel confident in saying this toy will not fall out unintentionally.

While the toy stays in well, and feels fairly good, it can become uncomfortable after orgasm and I'm still just a little sore even after pulling it out. I'm still not positive of the cause but I think the three ridges on the bottom may be the source of this. I'm guessing these ridges are also important for keeping it in though so it's a compromise that I'm ok with.

I've pretty much given up on the whole anal orgasm, male g-spot orgasm, prostate orgasm (whatever you want to call it). If I ever get one, great but I don't focus on that and have learned to enjoy the stimulation I get and take it for what it is. This includes the Nexus Neo. Believe me even without all that most prostate massagers still feel great.

Care and Maintenance

Neo is very easy to care for. Just about the only thing to complain about at all is having to remove the steel ball for cleaning but this is fairly simple and quick using the included tool. Neo cannot be sterilized so it cannot be shared between partners, however it can still be cleaned very easily with soap and water. Storing Neo is just as easy with no necessary precautions of not touching other toys or making sure it's not going to break. Just throw it wherever you want and it's good to go till next time. Being made of plastic, it can also be used with all types of lubricant as well.

Packaging

I have to say packaging Nexus' products is one of my bigger complaints and Neo's packaging is no different. Unlike most of the other toy manufactures I traditionally buy from, the packing on Nexus' products leaves something to be desired. Almost every toy looks like it was just thrown inside the packaging but unlike Vixen Creations products, which are also like this, it is harder to remove. On the plus side, there are some helpful but basic instructions on how to use the toy which are a welcome addition. I like to keep my toys in their original packaging if possible but in this case I'll probably be throwing out the packaging soon.

Personal comments

As you can see I'm starting to get a fair number of prostate massagers (I couldn't find my Aneros MGX for the picture). Of the prostate massagers I have I'd rank this one in the upper range. As I said I still like the Progasm better but I enjoy Neo as well.

Great review and thanks. Might get this one, but you have alerted me to the Progasm and might look at it too.

Trepier, after having had this one for a while longer I've learned I don't use this one nearly as much as the Progasm. If you can take the moderately bigger size I'd totally recommend the Progasm over this one. I use it like 20x as much.
