As someone fairly new to (but not completely inexperienced at) putting things in my bum, I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed the Plug of Lust. That said, I would not recommend the Plug of Lust to absolute beginners as it is a little big for first timers. As for you more advanced users, this plug may leave something to be desired, as it is really more of a medium sized toy. For me, however, this was an excellent choice.

The intended use of this toy is fairly obvious, but just to state it -- this is meant to be inserted into your bum. It's not meant to be used for thrusting, and really it wouldn't work for that, due simply to the size and shape. Instead, this plug is meant to simply be left in place. This toy would be great to use as a warm-up toy prior to engaging in anal sex. It's also excellent to use during masturbation. Somehow it just makes my orgasms much more intense. The plug would also be suitable use over an extended period, though I have never used it for longer than twenty minutes at a time.

The Plug of Lust is made out of 100% food-grade silicone. This makes it hypo-allergenic, and both latex and phthalates free. Silicone is also completely non-porous, so you could sterilize this toy. As such, it is no surprise to find that silicone rates as a 10 on Eden's safety scale.

The toy itself is firm, while still having a bit of a plush/squishy feel to it. This makes the toy comfortable while still providing a really nice full feeling.

The plug itself feels very smooth, though there is a seam going down the middle of it. For me, the seam wasn't a big deal as I can't feel it when I'm actually using the plug.


Scent wise, I found this toy to actually have a really pleasant scent. I would describe the scent as being almost sweet. I've used the toy many times, and the sweet smell still remains. Also, in my experience, this toy does not pick up on undesirable odors, although I know that some reviews have stated otherwise.

This plug has an excellent shape to it. It starts out with a bit of a tapered tip, which makes it easy to insert. The tapered tip leads down to a bulge, which provides one with a great feeling of fullness. Then there is the narrow neck that comes after the bulge, which helps to keep the toy inside. One flaw with the neck is that it is very short, so there is a chance that the toy may slip out during use, though that has never happened to me.

There is also the base, which is what makes this toy safe to use. The base is fairly small, but it is large enough that it won't slip inside your bum. It is also flexible enough to make the plug comfortable to use, but firm enough to hold the toy in place. There is a ring attached to the base, which makes the toy easy to remove. The ring is flexible and stretchy, yet very strong. I have aggressively pulled on it to see if it would break, yet it still remains strong.

This toy is 4 3/4" long, with 3" of that being insertable. At its widest, it is 1 1/2" in diameter, with the neck being 3/4". The base is slightly larger than the widest point of the toy, however I do not have the exact measurements on that.


This toy is not very discreet, it looks just like what it is. That said, it's small enough to hide, and it would be easy to travel with.

The Plug of Lust lived up to my expectations. It is easy to insert, and comfortable for me to wear. It is also extremely easy to remove when playtime is over, due to the ring on the end of it.

This toy definitely deserves a permanent place in my toy box.

As with most anal toys, lube is always going to be beneficial. For this toy, you really want to stick with a water-based lubricant.

The Plug of Lust is easy to care for. You can clean this toy with a toy cleaner/wipe, or antibacterial soap. You can also disinfect this toy by boiling it for a total of three minutes, or by putting it in the top rack of the dishwasher. Personally, I like to sterilize every anal toy after use, so I tend to boil it frequently. However you clean it, please remember to clean it after each use, and to let it dry before storing it.

Storing the toy is simple, as well. I store mine in a plastic baggy, in my toy box, but you could just as easily store this toy just about anywhere you choose to.

The packaging is okay, but not great. It's your basic clam-shell packaging, and as such, the toy is clearly visible. The instructions provided with the packaging were minimal, however I did not feel that I needed more. Those new to sex toys might find themselves wanting a little more information than what is provided.

Personally, I did not bother to save the packaging for multiple reasons. Firstly, the packaging just was not very pretty. Secondly, the packaging just takes up far too much space -- and in my toy box? Space is hard to find. That said, I guess you could use the packaging for storage, if you really wanted to.
