The Secrets That Hide In This Silo

This is really one of those toys that is a hidden gem that most don't seem to know about but would be a good addition to a lot of people's toy-boxes. It has several different uses and while it may be designed more for men, I have no hesitation in recommending this for females as well. I still haven't discovered all the uses for this toy yet and that's a good thing unlike some other toys that are one trick ponies.

Use

While this is listed as a prostate massager, Nexus' packing correctly labels this as a butt plug. It provides more firm prostate stimulation than most other butt plugs but it's not a prostate massager in the sense that it will move in and out on its own. You can still practice kegels with it but it doesn't have nearly as much movement as a prostate massager. One of its greatest strengths is that it can be manually moved in and out though acting more as a dildo or probe or can be left in and movements such as thrusting will provide some stimulation. While it can be used as a dildo, it's probably too short to be used in a harness.

Being made out of silicone it is capable of some limited temperature play. Glass and metals will stay at a given temperature longer though.

While marketed to men, I see this plug also working fairly well for woman as the forward nature of it should provide some nice effects during dual penetration and if this effect is too much the toy can be turned around backwards producing some interesting feelings on the back wall of the rectum as well. This is a very versatile plug that is great for both couples and solo. Chances are you can find some use for it.

Material / Texture

My first time touching this toy I was shocked at how smooth and silky the silicone was. It's very similar to the silicone on my Lelo Ella and Tantus Cody. It's very nice. It's very firm with only a little give and it feels like there's more give squeezing front to back versus side to side. When wet it almost looks like a seal (the sea animal) and is very pretty. I've mentioned it before that I don't like most black toys but I've recently found some that really look nice and this is one of them. The surface is completely smooth and there is the tiniest of seams but I can't even feel it with my finger at all. It did not have a smell when I got it but it does seem to hold onto smells just a little bit after cleaning with soap and water. I think with more thorough cleaning this would go away though. Being made out of silicone, the Nexus Silo is completely non-porous making cleanup easier and helping a little bit of lubricant to go farther.

Design / Shape / Size

The Nexus Silo has a fairly straightforward design that works well and makes it easy to use. It's size may scare some users but it's honestly very achievable for those that are used to something in the 1.25" to 1.5" range and has space in between the first and second ripple that helps aid insertion. The base is also very well designed and is big enough to hold while either inserting or thrusting but still small enough to snuggle between your butt cheeks. Because of it's front facing design, this toy will not stand up on its own and will only lay on its side.

Performance

Initial insertion was fairly easy for a toy this size. It has a little space in between the first and second ripple and this helps ease insertion. Once in, you can still feel it but it's fairly minimal stimulation even while practicing kegels. If used as a butt plug I'd recommend using it as a secondary stimulation such as during intercourse. One interesting thing that surprised me was that when turned around backwards this plug actually felt pretty good and gave some interesting stimulation of the back wall of the rectum which I liked. While I did not find that this toy put too much pressure on my prostate unlike Luna, using it backwards is a good backup for this toy in case you find it too much. What's really great about this toy though is it really lends itself well to using it more as a dildo or probe. The base can easily be grabbed in your hand and the angle works well for self stimulation. It's hard to use for fast thrusting but a simple slow in and out motion feels very good and provides excellent prostate stimulation.

Care and Maintenance

The Nexus Silo is fairly easy to care for and is easily cleaned with soap and water. If you are sharing with a partner, sterilization is necessary either by soaking in bleach or boiling in water. It is generally recommended not to let silicone toys touch other silicone toys and silicone lube should definitely be avoided as well. If you do wish to test out silicone lube, do a spot test on the base to see if there is any sort of reaction first.

Packaging

The Nexus Silo's packing is one of it's weaker points in my opinion. If it were placed in a top quality box I could of mistaken this for a LELO toy. My main issue is that the inserts do not hold the toy in securely and it feels much cheaper than the toy itself actually feels. On the plus side it does include some good basic instructions on use that could prove helpful for those just starting out. I like to keep my toys in their packaging and while you could keep it in the original packing I would recommend finding something else like I will be doing.

Fantastic review! I’d love to see the Nexus toys next to the rocks off prostate ones. Trying to get a feel for the thickness before I buy one for my man.
