Very Unique, Awesome Toy

At $12.00, this is one of the most economical glass toys on EF, and, in my opinion, one of the best for initiation into the pleasure that is glass. Once you try it, you just might get hooked!

Use

The Gold-Laced G is a glass dildo designed for vaginal or anal penetration. It's best suited for NON-size queens, and those who love texture. If you don't know how you feel about texture, the Gold-Laced G is a perfect toy to start out with at the low price of $12.00. One quick note about glass: although this toy in particular is small, do still be careful when using as it can bruise the vagina or rectum.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of 100% glass. Glass is an excellent material for sex toys because it is non-porous, meaning it is easy to clean and won't hold on to odors. It's also great for those who prefer firm stimulation. The cons are that there is no give whatsoever, and extra care is required to prevent breakage. The former should not be a problem for vaginal use except for the tightest of users, because the Gold-Laced G is only 3.5" in circumference-very small for a sex toy (just for reference, the "average" penis circumference measures in at around 4.5-5".)

As you can see in the stock photo, the Gold-laced G is covered with a beautiful (well, I think it's beautiful) latticed pattern. This texture not only looks great, but feels interesting when used internally. This is my only glass toy with texture, so I cannot comment on how it feels compares to other toys. I will say that it's intense, but in a good way!

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Gold-Laced G is exquisite. The shaft is slightly curved; I think this is meant for g-spot stimulation, but it didn't do that for me. In my opinion, this is not a "mind-blowing orgasm" kind of toy. It isn't large, it doesn't vibrate, or have any special functions. It's meant to tease the body and prepare for lovemaking or other toys to finish off.

I think that the size is just perfect. Because of the texture and the rigidity of the glass, it has more to offer than a plain, smooth toy of the same size. I also like that it resembles a real penis; the head is anatomically correct, and even the base hints at testicles.

Performance

This toy is wonderful for vaginal or anal use. I often use it anally after warming up with my Lil End and before anal sex. Because it has a base, you can "ride" it by placing it on the floor. Because it's glass, it's great for temperature play. Just remember NEVER to put a glass toy in the freezer because they can break, and don't go from cold to hot too fast.

Care and Maintenance

The Gold-laced G is incredibly easy to care for. For one thing, you don't have to worry about it "melting" like you do with silicone: it's compatible with all lubes, and plays with other toys well. To clean, you can simply wash it with warm soap and water. Do be sure to get into all the nooks and crannies, particularly around the "head". I want to say to treat it carefully because it's glass, but it's not like you need to wear kid gloves. I have accidentally sat this toy (and my other glass one) down a little too hard on more than one occasion, and thank goodness, they never cracked. That's not to say you should be careless, but don't worry too much.

Packaging

It's been awhile since I received the Gold-Laced G. I honestly don't remember if there was any outer packaging, or just the velvet pouch like my Amethyst. In any case, it's not the packaging you'll be using, so it doesn't really matter. If you're shopping on EF, you probably know how to use a dildo.

Personal comments

This is a very different toy from my other glass dildo, the Amethyst. That toy is designed the stroke the g-spot, while the Gold-Laced G is for all-over vaginal (or butt) pleasure. Bear in mind, the texture may be too much and you may find you prefer a smooth glass toy or a more giving material altogether. Honestly, sometimes the Gold G is too much texture for me, and I go for another toy. More often than not, though, I find myself craving its unique sensations. I think if you give it a try, you will, too.

Experience

Whether using this for anal or vaginal play, be sure to go slow. A little lube goes a long way on glass. Take your time and have fun!
Follow-up commentary
Gold laced G is still a favorite of mine and I use it regularly. If you only get one glass toy, this should be it! I literally can't get enough.

Great review! I noticed only two missing things that weren't important enough for me to vote lower than the highest rating. Firstly, you wrote that it's made of "glass" but it's important that you note that it's made of PYREX glass. Someone who is not familiar with glass toys may take comfort in knowing that glass toys are made of pyrex glass and are, therefore, safer because they will break into chunks rather than a billion pieces. Secondly, you listed the circumference but not the length of the toy. Fantastic review, nonetheless.

      There are plenty of reviews to check out, it all depends on the user. Glass is my favorite material, and the Gold Laced G is one of my all-time favorite dildos. Look at its product page and select "read all reviews," and see what other people think too.
    • It really does depend on the user. Most people LOVE glass and are very loyal to it. Myself and a few others don't find it enjoyable at all. The best way to know is really to start off with a cheaper glass toy, IMO. :)
