This toy was definitely designed
I bought this toy for my playmate because it was cheap and had varying speeds.
When I received it I was a little concerned about it's width as it was for my partner and he had never tried anything like it before. But I opened it and put in the batteries. I was pleased that it only took 2 AA batteries as some toys require far to many batteries. I turned it on and was pleased by the adjustable settings on the remote which ranged from slow to fast vibration. I was also a little concerned by the feel of it. As it is not smooth. The feel of it creates a sort of friction which may be overcome by plenty of lube but I think anal toys should be smooth as most people are very nervous about anal play hurting.
In the middle of foreplay I showed this to my partner. He was immediately excited by the idea of it. I put some lube on it and tried to insert it but like I initially thought it is a little big for someone who has never done it before, especially when they are clenched and tense. It should have ideally been progressively thicker along its length allowing for a novice to get accustomed to the feel. I really did have to add lots of lube and be somewhat patient for him to relax to get it in but once it was he was able to relax a bit and enjoy the sensations provided by the various speeds.
The tip is angled which allows it to reach his prostate which is superb but because of the angle it can't really be removed and re-inserted. At the base there is a protrusion on either side which is a little too narrow for this sensitive area. If you moved the wrong way it can jab into you and cause some pain. This limits the toys utility because he can't get up with it still inserted.
It was, however, a
powerful toy and it caused him deliciously excruciating pleasures. It wasn't initially visually intimidating for him but took some time and lots of lube to get it in due to its width. It's design makes it limiting on how creative you can be whilst using it but if your with someone who is a beginner and fine with that, it's a great toy for the money.
One should be careful with beginner anal toys--I know this from experience! Start small, and work your way up. Despite the discomfort, I hope he at least got some pleasure out of it!
Those protrusions serve as a base for the toy, and are what make it safe for anal play- it's a really bad idea to stick bullets/etc. without bases into a butt. They can get lost, and cords come off too easily.
That base does look uncomfortable though- they probably should have just made it wider.
