Gum drop droplet - butt plug discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Badass

The "Gum Drop Droplet" from Doc Johnson has one intended to have one use as a vibrating butt plug. It even has "wings" at the base to keep this toy from slipping into the abyss of your rectum. The design of this toy, with it's nearly pointy tip, makes this toy easy to slip inside. The design helps with keeping the toy inside once inserted as well. The bulges and thin neck before the "wings" make it nearly impossible for it to fall out.

It's small size is not intimidating in the least and would be a great choice for anal penetration beginners. It's easy to use on and off twist knob is also geared for a beginner, since it is so simple to figure out. However, those who regularly do butt stuff may find this toy is too small to please them.

The bullet that provides this toys vibrations can be removed from the butt plug and can be used as a clitoral vibe. I don't see many people doing this since the vibrations are fairly weak and if you wanted a bullet you could simply buy a bullet, but it is still an option you have.

This toy's bullet is not waterproof and should never be submerged in water or liquid of any kind. You should remove the bullet to clean the toy. Pay close attention to the battery lodge cap when cleaning the bullet portion and do your very best not to allow water to get inside.

According to the product page, the "Li'l Vibro Gum Drop" is made of PVC, but the box this toy comes to you in tells you it is made of PVC and ABS plastic. The PVC qualities of this toy make it phthalates free and latex free. The ABS portion, which I believe is strictly the internal bullet which produces the vibrations is phthalates free as well, but is also hypoallergenic. The portion that is intended to be inserted I believe is PVC, and is not squishy, but is a bit flexible. The "wings" of this toy can be bent, but they return to their previous position as soon as they are released. The tip of this toy can also be bent, but will return to the upright position. When squeezing with all your might you can squeeze into the toy a bit, but again, it is only temporary. PVC is somewhat porous and this toy should be covered with a condom or toy cover when sharing.

I personally have never received a toy that had an odor, but this one really smells. It has a terrible smell that my brain associates with burnt rubber or plastic. This smell is noticeable as soon as the inner portion of the packaging is slid out. After cleaning with toy cleaner twice, the smell is still noticeably in existence.

The toy is quite smooth and has very little drag to it, but since it is intended for anal use, I highly recommend using with lubrication. Both of the materials (PVC & ABS) are safe to use with water and silicone based lubricants.

The look of this toy is interesting. It's curves give this toy a unique allure, and it's size is small enough for an anal beginner, such as myself, to use without being in pain.

I actually thought this toy would be a bit bigger than it is. From top to bottom, this toy is 3 1/2" long with only 2 1/2" of that being penetrative. The first bulge of this toy that resembles the tip of a penis is 7/8 of an inch wide at it's widest point. Just below the tip, this toy's girth dives back inward to 5/8" wide. It again bulges back out to 1 1/4", which is this toys widest point. It dives back inward to 1/2" just before the winged base. The wings launch out to 2 1/2" by 3/4", so you can be sure it will not slip in and get lost in your bum.

Over all, I was pleased with the performance of this toy. It is my first anal toy and while I was not initially fond of the idea of anything going in my bum, I think I have changed my mind. This toy has an added quality, it vibrates! When your toy first arrives, you will need to unscrew the lid to the battery lodge, which can be found at the very base of this toy. After unscrewing, you will need to remove a small round piece of paper from the battery lodge. After this, you toy is ready to rock. It comes with the 3 LR41 batteries you need to power the toy already inserted.

This toy has only one speed of vibration which is turned on and off by twisting the D hole knob at the bottom of the battery lodge cap. Left turns the toy on, and right turns it off. This toy is fairly quiet and has medium intensity vibrations. These vibrations can be clearly felt from the base to the tip of this toy.

Both PVC and ABS are easily cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap or an antibacterial toy cleaner. Since this is an anal toy, you will want to clean it meticulously, paying super close attention to every inward curve. Since the bullet that slides inside is not waterproof, you will want to remove that piece before washing so water will not get inside and ruin the mechanism that provides your vibrations. Clean this toy thoroughly before before and after use.

As for maintenance, this toy should need little. The 3 LR41 batteries will eventually die and you will need to replace those. You can store this toy inside the package it initially comes to you in, but because of it's small size you might just want to throw it into your toy box. I recommend either purchasing a storage pouch or wrapping inside a wash rag or other form of cloth if you choose to do so, since this toy can collect dust or hair.

The packaging of this toy is not nearly discreet. The package is plastic and is mostly clear, your toy can be clearly seen inside the box. Aside from being able to see the toy, the packaging states in multiple places that this is a beginner or starter anal toy. The packaging is pretty basic and everything it tells you, I have already stated in my review. Inside the box, you toy is nestled securely into a thin plastic frame that keeps your toy from being able to wiggle around while inside. To open this box, you will need to cut tape on both the right and left side of the top portion, which will then slide open and allow you to remove the plastic your toy is encased in.

This toy comes with an instructions sheet, but it addresses many toys and not just the "Li'l Vibro Gum Drop".

When it got here and I saw through the box how small the toy actually was, I lost quite a bit of my hesitation. When I opened the box and removed the toy, I was taken aback by how terrible it smelled. I don't expect a butt plug to smell great, but this toy smells absolutely terrible! First, I went for the sink, thinking warm water and some soap that smells delectable would help. It did not. Then I went to my Lelo toy cleaning spray and cleaned it again, and again no change. Ultimately, I decided that something I was going to put in my butt didn't need to smell good, I just would store it in it's box and try never to smell it again. If you are sensitive to smells, this is not for you.

I have never been into anal. Not even in the least bit. My partner does not like butt sex or butt stuff either. When I came across this assignment, I had to think about whether I wanted to take it or not. I consider myself a "Sexual Explorer" and what kind of explorer would I be if I didn't give it a shot.
