Xtacy? I think not.

I was excited to try out anal beads, but I was disappointed by the construction of these and the fact that they aren't that great for solo play. The concept is great: graduation in bead size and a nice retrieval ring? The toy is inexpensive, so if you are looking to try out anal beads, you won't lose much here.

Pros:
The graduated beads are great when you put it in. The ring makes it easy to pull them out.
Cons:
The joint in the material was painful. Also, the toy was a bit too stiff and long for my comfort.

Use

This is an anal toy, and I don't think there would be much use in trying it out vaginally. It is meant to be inserted and then pulled out fast during the moment of orgasm. Both men and women, and those in between, can use it. I think it would be better suited for couples, as it is hard to pull out on your own when you're having an orgasm -- at least I think so. These beads are nice because it is all one piece and there isn't the chance of one coming off and getting stuck. They also have a nice retrieval ring.

Material / Texture

These beads are made from jelly, which is good and all, but cannot be sterilized like other toys can. That means you shouldn't share these with anyone else. The beads are smooth and not as flexible as I had hoped for from a jelly toy. Also there was a joint where the toy was put together that was very rough and pointy, and it hurt and was very uncomfortable. If the toy was seamless, it would have been a lot more pleasurable.

Design / Shape / Size

The beads had a nice graduation in size which felt great inserting, but the toy was too long. I also couldn't really feel the graduation when I pulled them out. It felt like I ran out of room for it to go inside me before all the beads were inserted. Maybe if one of the smaller beads at the top were eliminated, it would be perfect. The beads aren't very discreet; anyone looking at them will know exactly what they are used for.

Performance

The different-sized beads are fantastic, but it is too long for me. If the toy was better constructed, I would be a lot more keen on using it more. The joint in the construction just plain hurts! It ruins an otherwise smooth surface with something rough and pointy -- not something good for anal play. I hope mine was just a defective one or something. If the beads were a little more flexible, it would have been easier to insert, but that is just a minor problem.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is made out of jelly, like I stated previously. That means it is safe for one person to use, unless you use a condom or toy cover over it. It cleans well with soap and water. I personally use Hibicleanse soap, which is antimicrobial, on them. The material does not sanitize and will not withstand high temperatures like silicone. Also, unlike silicone, it is compatible with silicone lube. This toy is easy to clean because the surface is smooth and there are no batteries or anything to worry about getting water in.

Experience

I just used this toy solo. I found it hard to pull the beads out when I was orgasming because I have to focus so hard on just getting to that point. Maybe someday I will try them out with a partner; but, for now, they will sit in my drawer.
Follow-up commentary
I cut off the top three beads and sanded out the harsh seam, but the toy is still too inflexible to be pleasurable. I am always worried it is going to hurt me, which is obviously not a good thing to look for in a toy.

I dont know about being pulled out fast during orgasm.. Pulled out slowly is better, safer.... And I have had anal beads before - similar to these, the ring broke off haha! Never again!

    • I have not tried anal beads yet. I do know that you should avoid ones with actual string in between them if you're looking for something easy to clean. Silicone is probably your best bet material-wise--top safety rating and cleans like a dream.
