The biggest difficulty when it comes to anal play is comfort, and Zing is perfectly suited to easy, safe, and fun anal play. Zing is well-sized, the shorter length plug is 1 1/2 inches in diameter and with a little lubrication is completely comfortable to insert. However, unlike some truly small plugs Zing is large enough that it can still be felt, and its wider top and thin waist means it will actually stay in—which can be a serious problem with plugs with no curve to them. Zing’s ridges provide a reasonable degree of stimulation, though they are not particularly noticeable once the toy is inserted, but once in the plug’s main sensation is a pleasant “full” feeling. So far so good.
The Zing also scores big points when it comes to material and aesthetic design. Silicone is the perfect material for anal play. Because it is non-porous it does not harbor bacteria like rubber or jelly, and it is easy to clean (it can even go in the top shelf of the dishwasher). On top of that silicone is a comfortable material that balances out softness with good structure so it is neither floppy nor is it hard like other materials (glass, metal, etc). The Zing comes in a few colors (mine is pink), though only purple is available right now from Edenfantasys—and while the slightly shiny silicone may not quite be a mantle-piece worthy sculpture a little color makes Zing all the more inviting.
Of course one of the main points of distinction between
Zing and other
butt plugs is that it has an insertable vibrator. The simple silver bullet vibrator is essentially an on or off proposition, and while this may suit some people just fine, anyone looking for varied stimulation will likely be disappointed. While I was hoping the Zing would give me a little more variety the bullet was just not quite what I was looking for—and I tend to use the plug without the additional vibrator.
The Zing certainly scores points on a good, anal friendly, design and high quality materials. When it comes to the vibrations, the Zing probably won’t do it for most people.
