Icicles No. 38 - dildo by Pipedream - review by Mad's princess

The Icicles #38 is a beautiful glass and leather flogger by Pipedreams that incorporates the beauty and texture of glass with the sensual feel of suede tails. The glass handle is perfect for gripping while using the tails as a whip for teasing and punishing your partner and can then be turned around and used for penetration, the large ball on the end and the textures up and down the length create a feeling of pleasure that will drive your partner over the edge of pleasure. The handle could also be used for temperature play if you are careful when you soak it in the hat or cold water as you don't want to wet the leather. The leather tails are great for beginner whipping as they are soft and limp, they make for good teasing for sensual play as well. This whip will not leave marks, other than maybe some black lines from the dye in the suede, and only mild stinging pain at best so more advanced impact play couples will be disappointed by this.

This piece is constructed of a hand blown borosilicate glass handle that doubles as a dildo with a large, smooth ball at the head and deep, wavy grooves rippling down the shaft. The flogger is made of thirty soft, bull leather tails that very limp and pliable, not stiff enough or heavy enough to have any real impact or sting to them.

The handle is about 8" long and 1.5" diameter, of which about 6.5" is insertable, though I advise against it as you don't want to get fluids on the leather. It has a large ball shaped head to it and deep wavy texture running down the length. The flogger portion is made up of suede tails that are about 18" long and are very narrow and limp. These are held in place by a wide leather binding that wraps around the bottom of the glass handle.

I have to say, with as excited about this piece as I was, it is really nothing more than a beautiful piece of useless glass, for me at least. The glass handle is so pretty and feels amazing as a dildo, sadly there just isn't anything preventing lube and or bodily fluids from getting onto the leather tresses and binding and I tend to gush when I orgasm so this is a big issue for me. The flogger aspect of this was a total let down as it isn't heavy enough or stiff enough to possibly cause any kind of impact be it thudding or stinging sensation. It would be suitable for light play or teasing sensual play for beginners and the like. All in all I think it’s beautiful and will make an aesthetically pleasing addition to our collection but will not find much real use for us.

This is a relatively easy piece to clean assuming you’re able to keep fluids off of the leather. The glass portion can be washed with warm water and antibacterial soap or a toy cleaner, or can be wiped down with bleach. Just be sure not to get any of this onto the leather portion as it will ruin it, this part should only be spot cleaned with a damp cloth if needed and thoroughly dried before storing. As for storage it doesn't have a loop to be hung by like the rest of my floggers and paddles, it can be either stored in a drawer or cabinet, or on a shelf to display its beauty. I personally have been storing it in the box it came in to keep it looking nice and dust free, perhaps I'll have a place to display it in the future.
