A flogging for your thoughts, dear?

In all, I do think that this flogger is worth it, even if I do want/need something with a bit more bite to it, I still think that it's great for warming up during playtime. Since it is indeed fairly inexpensive (and yet of good quality), this makes it good for those who are looking for their first flogger. Not to mention it is also well suited for people who want something that isn't too intense or overly painful.

Use

This Rubber *Flogger* (yes indeed, there is a difference folks) is best suited for beginners and intermediates who would like to incorporate a bit of pain into their play time and could even be used for sensation play by lightly trailing the falls along your lover's body. Advanced users who are looking for a warm up flogger that doesn't have too much bite to it can find something in this product as well.

However, I will say that those looking for something that delivers more than just a mild to moderate dosage of pain will probably want to look elsewhere. That's not to say that this is a bad product, as I enjoy it very much, but I feel that others (like myself) who want something stronger will simply need to find a different one to suit their needs and wants.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

This rubber flogger is rather simple in design, yet well made and durable, and I believe it'll last no matter what you put it through. The falls actually doubled over (folded in half) with a nylon cord serving as a loop to hang it by or use as a wrist strap. It is pulled through a big, black bead, a clear rubber tube and then another bead to form the handle. This makes the handle flexible, and I feel is simple, yet effective. It comes in different colors: Red, and pink, along with the purple that I have, and also Sportsheets makes them in different lengths as well, this being the longest at 22 inches.

The falls are soft and stretchy and about as thick as a standard rubber band (a thin, angel hair pasta noodle is also what it could be effectively compared to as well). It does have a slight rubber smell and taste as well, but seeing as you shouldn't really have it near your face anyway, you should be just fine in that respect.

Performance

I feel that the rubber flogger worked very well, since it could be used for varying intensities, depending on the amount of force put behind it.

I'll be honest, I did expect and want it to be more intense than it actually was (without Synthetik having to put all his force behind it, of course) however, I was still pleased with the intensity it did provide. In my opinion, at least, its more suited towards beginners and intermediates, those looking for a warm up flogger, or just those who don't like alot of pain.

That's not to say that this is not a good product, as I feel it is very much so. However, I personally need something with a bit more bite to it, when it comes to floggers and similar impact toys. This is not a flaw of the product at all, and I know that it is definitely an "its not you, it's me" situation, I guess I could say.

Care and Maintenance

I suggest cleaning the falls of this flogger with hot water and soap, should the need arise, and hang it up for a bit to fully dry. I wouldn't recommend fully submerging the handle, however, as a little bit of water could make it's way into it and could mold or mildew since it would be nearly impossible to make sure the inside of the handle is completely dry. If you need to clean the handle itself, I suggest a wiping it down with a cloth dampened by hot water.

Since rubber is porous, I don't think I'd share this among partners if it comes in contact with any bodily fluids, just to be safe about it.

When not in use, the rubber flogger can be hung from the nylon wrist strap. Or, if it'd be unwise to leave it out due to prying eyes, it can be stored in a toy bag, cloth satchel, or even a ziploc bag, and then put into your toy drawer or box.

Packaging

In all honesty there was no packaging for this product. Personally, this did not bother me, as I feel the shipping box was quite enough.

Personal comments

Even though this flogger is not as intense as others; care, knowledge, and consideration is needed when using it. Any sort of striking implement used in BDSM play can be dangerous if misused or when used without proper knowledge.

As a general rule of thumb, you don't want to hit areas that could cause damage, such as the neck, the face, and places near major organs, such as the kidneys. Also, take care to talk with your partner beforehand to see if there are other places that they'd prefer not to be flogged or if there are areas of their body that would be best left alone.

A few examples of areas that are generally fine to flog are the buttocks, the breasts, the thighs and other areas that have some natural "padding".

Here is the link to a video on Youtube that I particularly like on the subject of flogging from the user Fetinreallife. I feel that this is a great video to watch with alot of good information for anyone:

FetInRealLife - Flogging Demonstration

Also, I cannot stress enough the importance of safe words/signals and above all *Communication* when incorporating BDSM elements into your playtime. Take the time to talk things out beforehand, what safe word/signal you'll be using, what you like and dislike and what things you definitely want to steer clear of. Without discussing it beforehand, your partner *will not* know what things may bother you, or what they need to be aware of. For example, lets say your shoulder has been bothering you and you know that you and your partner will be playing in a bit. Mention it! If your partner doesn't know about it, then they may be rough with you (and the hurting shoulder) and make things even worse without even knowing about it.

I'm not saying any of this to scare someone from trying BDSM out, I'm not at all, and I encourage those who would like to try it. It is just something that you have to be careful with, so that everyone is safe.
