The Sex and Mischief Red Rope Flogger is the cutest and gentlest flogger ever. It's soft, sensuous, and gentle rather than stingy, sharp, or painful. Floggers are normally used to whip, and you can certainly give this a swing, but the impact will be light. This is best suited for those who don't like a lot of pain or perhaps those just experimenting with BDSM or spankings. Experienced BDSM players who like moderate or extreme pain might want to pass on this, although it might be nice as a warm up or cool down. I like sensation play that is erotic but only mildly painful if painful at all. I have a small collection of floggers & paddles that provide just the right amount of erotic sensation and pain. I knew I had to buy this as soon as I saw it.

The flogger can be used in a variety of ways. It is soft enough to use anywhere on the body- bum, legs, feet, breasts, belly, back, arms, genitals, and even face or head. The most obvious use is to spank or whip with it. It won't cause much more than mild pain. I suppose a very experienced Dom could get enough force for some moderate pain, but there would have to be a lot of force. It would be easier to use a different implement for a higher level of pain. This is a gentler, kinder type of flogger. The rope falls can also be traced down the body for a different sensation. It can also be used to tickle like you would with a feather duster. This is particular nice on the neck, face, and head. It can't do any damage or leave any marks. It's soft and sensual on skin and great for gentle teasing.

The entire flogger is bright red and close to 24 inches long. The handle is made from a wooden dowel wrapper in red vinyl. The vinyl is wrapped in a downward spiral and is secured with a nickel-free rivet. The spiral vinyl creates a very nice handle for gripping. It is very comfortable to hold and doesn't slip at all. The handle is 6.5 inches.

The falls below the handle are made from polyester braided rope. There are 11 falls, and they are uniform in size each being about 12 inches. There is one significant design flaw. The bottom of the falls are loose and fraying. If left like that, the ropes would eventually come loose and you would have a flogger with many many loose threads instead of the 11 rope falls. I put a knot in the end of each fall to stop any further fraying. With the knots, this should last a long time. I thought the knots might add more bite, but I found that it was still very gentle.

At the top is a wrist strap made out of the same braided rope as the falls. The threads in one spot have started to fray a bit. It could be put on your wrist during play, but its not necessary. It can also be hung on a hook if desired. We don't display our toys, so we don't use this feature.

Beause of the placement of the rivet, my husband thinks this looks like a squid. The rivet is the eye, the handle its body, and the falls its tentacles. We refer to it as our Red Squid.

The flogger works very well for us. We like the bright red color and the sensations it delivers are perfect for us. Again we like more sensual play with only mild pain. The quality on this toy wasn't top notch. The loose ends of the falls really did need to knotted. It wouldn't have taken much time for the entire thing to unravel. However, it was a quick fix. I am happy with how that turned out. There is not much I can do with about the loose threads in the handle. I trimmed them down, but it will probably continue to unravel. Still for a $10 toy, I'm not complaining. It was an affordable way to add a bit more variety to my collection.

The flogger is easy to care for. We are taking care not to get lubes or oils on it. But the vinyl handle can be washed with soap and water or a toy wipe if needed. The rope could be hand washed with detergent and hung to dry.

It can be hung by the wrist strap or just put in a drawer. We leave ours in a drawer since we don't like to leave our toys out in the open.

This arrived in a plastic wrap with a tag attached. The tag had the beginning of an erotic story. You could go to the company's website to finish the story and see more of their products. There weren't any instructions, but I think the toys uses are pretty obvious.

I am pleased with this flogger. It looks naughty, but is really just soft and lots of fun. It could be a great addition to beginner BDSM players or those who just enjoy a tamer version of BDSM.
